Collection of strange powers and chaotic gods
Chapter 296 Yi 5
It is said that during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, there was a soldier named Yi Wu in the capital.
He was short and ugly, and the officers disliked him when they saw him. Therefore, Yi Wu had no hope of promotion and was always just a pawn.
Slowly, he became impoverished and could no longer survive. Disheartened, he came to the outside of the city alone and prepared to hang himself and end his life.
As soon as the rope was hung on the tree, an old man suddenly walked up to Yi Wu and asked, "Young man, why do you want to commit suicide?"
Yiwu didn't hide anything and told the truth.
When the old man heard this, he smiled and said: "In my opinion, you don't have to commit suicide. You are extraordinary. Since there is no way out as a soldier, you can still learn Taoism. I have a secret book at home that I can teach you. If you learn the above skills, it will be enough for you to have food and clothing for a lifetime."
Yi Wu was overjoyed when he heard this and followed the old man home.
After following the old man for several miles, he crossed a wide stream and then passed through a large reed. The road along the way was winding and winding, and finally he came to a small house.
Yiwu stayed here and learned Taoism from the old man. Unexpectedly, it only took him seven days to learn it.
When he wanted to say goodbye to the old man and return to the city, the old man and the small house disappeared.
After Yi Wu returned to the city, he gradually lived a well-off life because of the Taoism.
One time, several of Yiwu's friends discussed letting him treat them. Yiwu didn't change his expression and took them to the best restaurant in the city without saying a word. Five or six people ate and drank to their heart's content, and when the accounts were calculated, a total of 7,200 cash was spent.
Everyone did not expect that they had eaten so much money, and when they were worried that Yi Wu would not have the money to pay the bill, suddenly a dark-faced man came upstairs, raised his hands and said to Yi Wu: "My master learned that Mr. Yi Wu is entertaining guests here. I was specially sent to deliver the drink money.”
After the black-faced man finished speaking, he handed the money bag to Yi Wu and left without looking back.
Everyone was surprised. They opened the money bag and counted it. No more, no less, exactly 7,200 coins. They couldn't help but be horrified.
After settling the bill, Yi Wu and everyone else were strolling on the street when they suddenly saw a man galloping past on a white horse.
Yi Wu immediately let go and chased after him, shouting loudly: "Bring me that skin bag you are wearing!"
The man jumped off his horse in fear, took out a skin bag from his arms, which looked like a half-expanded pig urine bag, handed it to Yiwu and ran away.
Everyone was very curious and didn't know what was inside.
Yi Wu said: "There is a child's soul here. The rider just now was a wandering god passing by. He specializes in stealing people's souls. If I hadn't met me today, another child would have died."
Then they walked into an alley together. I saw a house with a door facing west, and bursts of "ouch" cries came from inside.
Yi Wu took out the leather bag and opened the lid to the crack of the door of the house. He saw a plume of thick smoke coming out and entering the yard.
Then I heard someone inside saying: "Wake up, wake up, the kid is awake!"
From then on, everyone thought that Yiwu was a god.
Not long after, there was a nobleman whose daughter was controlled by an evil spirit. Hearing that Yi Wu had great supernatural powers, he gave Yi Wu a generous gift and invited him to come and eliminate the evil spirit.
Before Yi Wu went over, the woman at home had already sensed that he was coming, and she suddenly felt miserable and depressed.
When Yiwu walked into her room, she hid in the corner with an iron in her hand, trying to defend herself.
After Yi Wu entered the house, he only looked around for a moment before exiting the door and said to the noble man: "Your daughter has an artifact attached to her body. I will get rid of it tonight for my husband."
At the third watch of the night, Yi Wu took out a small sword from his pocket. The sword looked very sharp and cold.
Yiwu entered the room with his hair disheveled, barefoot and holding a sword. The rest of the noble family were waiting in the courtyard.
Only the sound of scolding came from the room, followed by the sound of "ping ping ping pong" fighting and throwing things.
After a while, the room finally became quiet.
I heard the woman kowtow and beg, "Please spare me, I don't dare to do it anymore."
At this time, Yi Wu shouted loudly: "Bring the lamp."
Servants and old women hurriedly entered the room holding lamps.
Yi Wu pointed to something on the ground and said, "This is the thing causing trouble."
Everyone stepped forward and took a look, and it turned out to be a rattan knee brace (a summer artifact placed on the bed to make the hands and feet comfortable, in the shape of a cage, made of rattan, bamboo or metal.).
Yiwu asked his servant to get firewood and burn it.
Everyone was horrified, and blood kept coming out of the clamped knee, and it flowed all over the floor.
However, from now on, that noble family will be at peace!

postscript
In order to participate in the joint essay solicitation activity of "Revitalizing Ancient Books and Inheriting the Fragrance of Books" held by Tomato Novel, Huahuchengmao chose Mr. Ji Xiaolan's "Notes from the Yuewei Cottage" and Mr. Yuan Mei's "Zi Buyu", and selected some strange and chaotic gods from them. The short story is based on the original work and slightly processed to create this "Collection of Strange Powers and Chaotic Gods".
When the book is finished, first of all, I would like to thank Tomato Novels for providing such a platform, allowing me to participate in this activity; secondly, I would like to thank the original authors for their wonderful dedication. It is because of their exquisite stories that the painted tiger becomes a cat. With this work; finally, I would like to thank all the readers for their perseverance, so that I can persist in painting a tiger into a cat.
The original works of two ancestors, Mr. Ji Xiaolan and Mr. Yuan Mei, were both written in classical Chinese. In order to better inherit the scholarly flavor and allow more ordinary people to understand it, Painting a Tiger into a Cat translated the classical Chinese into vernacular. On this basis It has been slightly modified and basically retains the content of the original work.
Through this activity, Huahu Chengmao deeply realized his many shortcomings, which also increased his motivation to study hard and strengthened his confidence to write more and better works in the future.
No matter how good the activity is, it will eventually come to an end. Especially for Huahuchengmao, a hemiplegic patient with cerebral hemorrhage and stroke, he was able to persist for so long, and he admired himself a little bit.
There are many more beautiful stories in the original work, but Huahuchengmao finally managed to reserve a bed. He will be hospitalized tomorrow, so he has to finish it in a hurry.
I hope I can write a sequel one day after I recover!
Finally, I wish the readers good health! All the best!
