Now that we know that Mr. Wei's hiding place is in a temple, how can we quickly find this temple?

The fat man said: "You can dye the paper with the smell of incense. There may be more people in this temple and the incense is stronger. There are more people coming and going in large royal temples, so it is easy to be exposed, so he is most likely hiding in a small temple."

I said: "But there are many large and small temples in Chang'an City. How can we check them? We can't ask them one by one, and we don't know Mr. Wei either?"

The fat man thought for a while and said: "Laifu has a friend in six doors in Chang'an. It will not be difficult for us to ask him for a portrait of Master Wei. Also, regular temples generally have strict management, and There are files being compiled. If a person wants to hide himself, he won’t go to the temple. Let’s start from the small temple first, so we can save a lot of time.”

I had a direction and we moved quickly.

Laifu quickly got a portrait of Mr. Wei. From the portrait, he is a slightly fat middle-aged man in his fifties. He has a pleasant smile and gives people an all-round appearance. However, this kind of person is the most unlucky. Easy to mess with.

Apart from the large temples, there are also many large and small temples in Chang'an. Among them, the Earth Temple is the most numerous, and its incense is quite prosperous.

Most of the earth temples are located in the suburbs, and anyone can go to offer incense. Therefore, on the 15th day of the Lunar New Year, many people go there, mostly to seek wealth.

Fatty, me, and Xiao Tianbao, the three of us started looking for it from the Tutu Temple in the southern suburbs of Chang'an.

There are four or five earth temples in the southern suburbs. There are almost no people going to small earth temples to offer incense, and they are all occupied by lazy people or beggars, so there is no need to go.

The larger Tutu Temple is located next to Mingde Gate. It is the most popular temple in Chang'an County because it not only worships Tu Tu Gong but also Tu Tu Po. The landlord can ask for wealth, and the landlord can ask for children.

Due to the constant flow of pilgrims, the surrounding area has become lively, especially on the 15th day of the Lunar New Year. It has become a holy place for tourists from the Tang Dynasty.

Without further ado, today is the first day of the Lunar New Year, and there are many pilgrims in the temple. Me, Fatty, and Xiao Tianbao, we walked in swaggeringly.

Of course Fatty and I came here to seek wealth and marriage. As for Little Tianbao, we just wanted to be able to eat meat every meal. We worshiped again and again in front of the Tu Tu Gong and Tu Tu Po, looking very pious.

At this time, I took out 50 taels of silver from my bag, handed it to the elder in the temple, and said, "Elder, please accept this little bit of sesame oil money. It can be regarded as a piece of our piety."

This elder has kind-hearted features, a round figure, and a rosy face. After receiving the money, his smile became even brighter.

"Three young donors, I see that you are handsome and distinguished, and you will definitely be blessed with great blessings in the future."

The fat man also smiled and said: "I would like to borrow your kind words. How has the elder always been?"

The elder smiled and stroked his gray beard and said: "It's not bad, I can still walk."

The fat man said: "We have come all the way and want to stay one night at your place. Can we leave tomorrow?"

The elder said: "Generally, temples only accommodate converted lay people, but the three of them have come from afar and their sincerity can be seen. The three of them can rest in the side hall."

The fat man said: "Excuse me, elder."

The elder said: "Donor, you're welcome." After saying that, he put his hands together and bowed, then turned and left.

I felt strange and asked the fat man: "Why do you still want to live here? Is there something fishy?"

The fat man said: "Well, it's very weird here!"

I immediately became interested and said, "Master Wei is here?"

The fat man folded his arms and was deep in thought. When I asked him, he was stunned for a moment and said, "I don't know, but this temple is definitely not simple."

I asked, "What's wrong?"

The fat man said: "There is something wrong with this elder."

I said, "What's wrong?"

The fat man said: "I can't tell what's wrong. Anyway, something is wrong. Let's wait and see again in the evening."

The temple is quite friendly to the pilgrims who donated money for sesame oil. They provided a vegetarian meal at noon, not to mention it was quite delicious.

But the person who accompanied us to dinner was the young novice monk from the temple, and the elder had disappeared.

I asked the young novice: "Where are you elders? Why don't you come to eat?"

The young novice said: "Our elders are in seclusion and will not be able to come out until seven days later."

I asked, "How often does he go into retreat?"

The little novice said: "The time is not certain. Sometimes he retreats once every six months, sometimes once a month, but this time he goes more frequently. Within half a month, he goes into retreat again."

I asked: "Little Master, what kind of pilgrims do you often come here?"

The young novice said: "The Dharma door is widely opened here, and anyone can come. However, when our elders are in retreat, they close the door to thank guests."

I said: "Then what should we do? Can we still live here?"

The young novice said: "The donor can stay here in peace, the elder has given instructions."

I asked: "Where does your elder live in seclusion? We want to walk around the temple after dinner, but we are afraid of disturbing his elderly family."

The little novice monk said, "Oh, it's in the meditation room at the back of the temple."

After having lunch with the little novice, we took a rest so that the little novice no longer had to wait on us. He jumped up and went out to play by himself.

This earth temple is not very big, so in addition to the elder and the young novice monk, there are also several traveling monks taking a rest here. At this time, the doors were closed to thank guests, and the Tutu Temple seemed particularly quiet.

Some of these wandering monks meditate, some close their eyes, and some are helping the temple carry water and sweep the courtyard. We are walking around in the courtyard casually, but they don't even look at us, they just feel that we are It's like air.

The fat man quietly lifted me up with his arm and said quietly: "These people are just dressing up as monks, but they are definitely not real."

I was stunned for a moment and said, "They are dressed like monks, why not?"

The fat man said: "Although they are wearing monk robes, they do not wear sandals on their feet, but ordinary cloth shoes. This is not the case for walking monks."

"Also, even though they recited the sutras wrongly! They don't know how to recite the sutras at all, they are just pretending."

Fatty and I looked at each other and both felt that something was wrong in this temple.

Legend has it that sometimes robbers or murderers live in temples. They have no place to go, so they choose to live in temples to avoid trouble and to easily contact other brothers.

Fatty and I both had cold sweat on our faces. We were afraid that we were in a wolf's den this time. At this time, the temple door has been closed, and it is difficult to get out, not to mention that it is difficult for one punch to defeat four hands. If it is hard, we will definitely suffer.
