Chapter 30 His Albus is always smart
There was no sound in the dusty room, and Dumbledore even doubted whether there was anyone still living in this dilapidated room.
But there was indeed a person lying on the narrow bed, which was only covered with a thin quilt.
Dumbledore stood at the door of the room, leaning tiredly on the specially made iron bars.
Time does not stand still because of the quiet atmosphere.
The greatest white wizard in the magic world felt a little flustered for no reason.
"Albus."
A voice as low as a whisper sounded from behind. Dumbledore slowly turned around and saw Gellert Grindelwald standing behind him.
Grindelwald was wearing gray and thin old robes, with unrepaired withered pale hair hanging behind him, and his heterochromatic pupils showed two emotions of calm and unruly.
Dumbledore even distractedly thought that Gellert was indeed not suitable for long hair, or maybe his unkempt and messy hair was not worthy of Gellert.
"I thought you would never come to see me," Grindelwald sat casually on the ground. He didn't seem to care about the dusty ground.
"I thought so too." Dumbledore turned around and sat on the ground like Grindelwald.
He looked into Grindelwald's strange eyes.
"Well," Grindelwald twitched his lips, "Then why is our greatest white wizard, the principal, willing to come to this remote prison to see me, a defeated prisoner, for what reason?"
Grindelwald stood up, no longer in his previous state, and replaced with an arrogant and unruly aura. He stretched out his arms, with a smile on his face that made it difficult to look away.
Dumbledore felt as if for a moment he saw the most dangerous dark wizard who led the saints to terrorize Europe.
"Dumbledore, you betrayed me! You betrayed our great interests!"
"You locked me, your defeated general, here in isolation from the world!" Grindelwald paused, and his tone suddenly weakened, "You didn't even look at me."
He was not willing to imprison himself in Newgarmond just to have nothing to do with Albus. At the beginning, he still had anger and hatred... Now he has been imprisoned alone in Newgarmond for almost 50 years.
Dumbledore never even sent him a letter.
He is the leader of the saints, and he knows that he should continue his great cause, and he should not be disturbed by Albus Dumbledore.
But, he is Albus.
Albus Dumbledore.
Dumbledore looked at Gellert's eyes with a glimmer of disbelief. He had never seen him like this... It was difficult for him to describe Gellert Grindelwald as fragile.
"Don't do it, Gail."
Grindelwald looked at Dumbledore, who was still calm and composed, and closed his eyes, "What are you going to ask?"
Albus would never come simply to see him.
He wasn't even as good as Albus's crappy school.
"A Horcrux, a successful living Horcrux." Dumbledore looked at the slumped Gellert and felt a little nervous, but the issue of Harry's Horcrux was obviously more important at the moment.
"Living Horcrux?" Grindelwald took a step closer to the iron bars. "Your student? The so-called Dark Lord and savior of Britain?"
Grindelwald looked at Albus Dumbledore's half-moon lenses with a confused look in his eyes. No matter what time of day, he would compromise on those pure blue eyes, either overtly or covertly.
Gellert walked back to his shabby narrow bed, pulled out a newspaper from under the thin quilt, held it in his hand and waved it up casually.
Dumbledore saw clearly that it was the latest issue of the Daily Prophet.
"They at least reserved this only entertainment activity for me." Gellert Grindelwald curled his lips.
"A Horcrux, as a preserver of the soul, can only be destroyed to make the soul in the container disappear. If it is a living Horcrux, then the boy will have no choice but to die... After all, isn't he also the savior?" Geller Te said nonchalantly and threw the newspaper in his hand on the ground.
The British prophetic newspapers are full of trivial matters, and most of the events are made up at first glance.
Dumbledore sighed and said helplessly, "Gellert."
Grindelwald lowered his slightly raised lips and stared at Dumbledore with his strange eyes. After a long time, he was still defeated.
"Deathly Hallows, Resurrection Stone."
He has been here for too long, and Albus's arrival today is an unexpected surprise in almost 50 years.
He wanted to talk to someone.
And whoever he wants to talk to.
Resurrection stone?
The Resurrection Stone, which was separated from Gaunt's ring, is still at Hogwarts.
Dumbledore figured it out immediately and came up with a perfect plan. Harry would be the real savior.
"Are you leaving? Albus." Grindelwald looked at Dumbledore with his eyebrows stretched, knowing in his heart that Albus had got the answer he wanted and had already hatched a plan.
His Albus had always been smart.
But this also means that Albus is leaving, and this may be the last time they see each other.
His pride prevented him from saying any words of repentance. He may have regretted it during these decades of loneliness and unchanging time.
But he still felt that his cause was right and that accomplishing the greater good required some sacrifice.
After all, he is Grindelwald, the first Dark Lord.
But Albus Dumbledore was leaving. He made a sudden visit, and after getting the answers he wanted, he planned to leave without mercy.
In this closed tower of Newgamund, he couldn't even enjoy the same moonlight as his Albus.
Dumbledore looked at Grindelwald quietly, his half-moon lenses reflecting the light, "If you had it to do over again, would you choose another path, Gellert?"
"will not."
Grindelwald looked at Dumbledore's back as he teleported away, but I will never use you again, nor will I hurt your family, nor will I leave you alone by jumping out of the window.
But we all know there is no if.
For the greater good.
