I, Hogwarts Week Two
Chapter 568 Dumbledore's Will
Hermione's plan was still necessary.
After all, there are many treasures in Hogwarts.
He still hasn't taken the treasure from Merlin's Chamber of Secrets.
After careful consideration, Owen decided to go along with Hermione's plan: "Well - you can do this."
The underground network of Hogwarts is intricate, like a maze, with multiple secret passages connecting the castle to the outside world.
As long as Voldemort wasn't in the castle, it wasn't that dangerous.
In addition, he also considered that as their studies progressed, the members of DA (Dumbledore's Army), including Hannah, Luna, Neville, etc., had difficulty making new breakthroughs and growth in regular courses. Instead of letting them spend boring time in the classroom, it would be better to let them learn in practice and grow in battle.
"What about you, Owen?" Hermione looked at him, staring at him.
"Me?" Owen thought for a moment and said slowly, "After this incident, I will go to the cave divine tower. It is the last divine tower recorded by the [God's Favored] Cult.
It was also the tower that Hogwarts transformed after a certain heir defeated the enemy inside. There may be no ancient magic inside, but it must be hiding some secrets - I want to take a look anyway."
"Is there any danger?" Hermione asked again.
"Probably not. You can ask Principal Dexter. But the situation inside is very complicated. This divine tower is different from the others. It should require some tests or something else." Owen shook his head. "I don't know the specific situation, but this is the last one and I must go there."
"Okay." Hermione said glumly.
She couldn't go with him this time.
She has her own things to do.
As they were talking, Professor Sprout suddenly appeared at the entrance of the chapel.
"I want to talk to you," she said. "Owen, Hermione and Harry and Ron."
"Okay Professor." Hermione stood up and said obediently.
Then, several people followed Professor Sprout out of the chapel, walked through the crowded open space, and came to a barn near the forest. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the school, it seemed particularly peaceful and mysterious.
Inside the barn, the air was filled with an aroma mixed with hay and fresh ingredients. This was where the Muggle government stored supplies and food for schools, and normally few wizards would come here.
Only some house-elves come here.
When they walked into the barn, they happened to see several elves preparing food, including Dobby.
"Oh - sir!" Dobby jumped up excitedly when he saw Owen, his big eyes shining with joy.
He is now a well-known elf among elves, and is well-known in the entire Muggle world. Although most Muggles can't see the difference in appearance between Dobby and other elves.
Professor Sprout saw this and smiled at Dobby and said, "Dobby, thank you very much for your hard work, but now, I need to talk to these students alone. Can you take your companions away for a while?"
"Of course, Professor." Dobby nodded, and then left the barn with the other elves.
After the elves left, Professor Sprout waved his wand lightly, and several ordinary-looking but actually extremely comfortable armchairs appeared out of thin air in front of them, and then motioned for them to sit down.
Harry, Owen, Hermione and Ron sat down one by one in confusion.
As soon as they sat down, with a slight breeze still in the air, Professor Sprout spoke in a solemn yet gentle tone: "Albus left you some relics."
"The headmaster left us a relic?" Hermione said immediately, she was surprised.
Professor Sprout nodded gently, his eyes gently sweeping over everyone, "Yes, we found Albus's will when we were carefully sorting out his belongings. Originally, those things could have been handed over to you a month ago, but because there was a special item among them, Mr. Theseus Scamander studied it for a long time and couldn't find a way to destroy it, so it took some time."
"What?" Harry asked almost at the same time as Hermione, with a hint of urgency in his voice.
"Wait--" Professor Sprout said, then reached into her cloak and pulled out a small drawstring bag. She pulled out a roll of parchment from it, unfolded it and read: "The will of Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore--My Deluminator is left to Ron Bilius Weasley, in the hope that he will remember me when he uses it."
Professor Sprout pulled something out of his bag: it looked like a silver lighter, but with a flick of the trigger, it could suck all the light out of a place and then light it up again. The professor leaned forward and handed the put-out to Ron, who took it and flipped through it in his hands, looking stunned.
"It is a very valuable item," the professor said, gazing at Ron. "It is unique, and I believe it was designed by Albus himself."
"I know, Professor." Ron said blankly, "I just don't understand why the headmaster would give this to me?"
Owen took the Deluminator from Ron and felt it carefully.
It contains very weak ancient magic, and the patterns on the surface also have traces of runes. It is obvious that Dumbledore modified it later.
"Where the treasure is, there the heart is also," he whispered, and handed the Deluminator back to Ron.
"What do you mean?" Ron asked.
"It can take you home," Owen explained. "No matter where we are, as long as we say your name, the Deluminator will produce a blue ball of light. The ball of light will illuminate you, and you will know where we are. Then you can Apparate here."
"There is Victor's Realm Warp technology, and there is Nicolas Flamel's technology."
"Anyway, Dumbledore probably gave it to you because of your experience of being captured and taken to the Tower of Divine Providence in Brazil. I hope it can always point you in the direction of home in the future."
"Is that so?" Ron was overjoyed. He held the Deluminator in both hands and examined it carefully. "Oh - I never knew Dumbledore thought so highly of me!"
"Of course Dumbledore thinks highly of you, Ron," Harry said, patting him on the shoulder.
Professor Sprout nodded, then looked at Hermione.
"I leave my book Hogwarts: A History to Miss Hermione Jane Granger. I hope she can find the answers she wants from this book."
The professor took out a small book from his bag. It was a very worn book with spots on the cover and peeling in several places. This was probably what Dumbledore bought when he was in school.
Hermione took the book without a word, placed it on her knees, and looked down at it.
Hogwarts: A History is a 1000-plus-page book about Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and its history. This book is Hermione's favorite, and she often refers to various aspects of Hogwarts from this book - the three most frequently mentioned things are the enchanted ceiling of the Great Hall that shows the weather outside, not being able to Apparate inside the school, and electronic equipment not working inside the school.
Hermione had memorized the book by heart a long time ago.
I really don't know why Dumbledore gave this book to her.
"Why did Dumbledore give you this book?" Harry naturally knew that Hermione had read this book many times.
Over the past few years, Hermione has often spoken of what she has learned from the book.
"Didn't you think that this book didn't mention that Hogwarts used house-elves to serve students? You even said that this book should be called "A Revised History of Hogwarts" or "A Biased and Selective History of Hogwarts, the Dark Side of the School is Covered Up." Owen looked at Hermione and said, "I think the one you are holding now should be the one that Dumbledore has added. Maybe there will be something completely new in it."
"I'll read it carefully several times." Hermione said firmly.
Professor Sprout nodded silently and said nothing more. They had studied the book carefully for a month, but failed to find any new content. Perhaps, as Harry and Owen guessed, there was some kind of magical mechanism hidden in it, and they had not yet found the key to open it.
"I leave you, Harry James Potter, a ring I received from an old friend. Wear it when you are done. It will guide you on your next journey."
"Ring?" Harry was stunned when he heard it.
Just as he was about to ask further questions, a sudden stinging sensation spread across his forehead.
Owen's face suddenly became solemn. He could hardly believe his eyes - the ring that Professor Sprout took out was the Horcrux they had been searching for, the Gaunt Ring!
"This - Headmaster Dumbledore has already obtained the Gaunt Ring from Barty Crouch Jr.?"
"I think so," said Professor Sprout.
"Mr. Theseus Scamander has studied it for a long time in the past month, but still can't find a way to destroy it."
"This is easy," Owen said, and then he gently handed the Gaunt ring to Hermione. Their eyes met at this moment, and they understood each other without saying anything.
She reached into her waist pocket and fumbled around.
Ten seconds later, a weapon made of pure silver with a ruby inlaid at the end of the handle, which looked like a medieval straight sword, appeared in her hand.
"Is this the Sword of Gryffindor?" Professor Sprout was stunned. "So this sword has always been with you."
"It was arranged by Professor Dumbledore, and Granger inherited Godric's legacy, so the sword chose to follow her." Owen explained.
"Oh - I don't blame you, it's just that Mr. Theseus Scamander thought of many ways to destroy the Horcruxes, and he naturally thought of the Sword of Gryffindor, but he never found it."
"Well, that's the time, Hermione, for you to destroy it," said the professor.
Hermione nodded heavily, raised the sword of Gryffindor, and pointed it at the Gaunt ring on the ground that exuded an ominous aura.
Perhaps knowing that it would soon die, the ring suddenly stood up and then spun at high speed, trying to escape its fate.
Unfortunately, the power of the residual soul in the ring is not enough to move the ring itself, and at most it can only make it rotate.
Hermione didn't give the ring any chance to breathe, and the sword of Gryffindor in her hand slashed down suddenly.
A 'ding' sound.
The sword and the ring collided, and thick black mist erupted instantly.
They saw a human face in the smoke. It was Voldemort's face, hideous and terrifying. It slowly dissipated amidst heart-wrenching screams.
"Is this the last Horcrux?" Harry's voice trembled slightly and his face was as pale as paper.
Owen stared at Harry, his deep eyes seemed to contain thousands of words, but in the end he just nodded slightly without saying too much.
Then he handed the Gaunt ring to Harry.
If an ordinary object is used as a Horcrux, then the object will be destroyed the moment the Horcrux is destroyed, but these are the three holy relics.
There were no scratches on the Resurrection Stone, and even the ring itself didn't seem to have any scratches.
Harry held his forehead and took the ring.
He didn't see anything and felt that the ring in his hand was just an ordinary object.
Owen nodded slightly, realizing that the ring must contain Dumbledore's magic.
As he said – put it on at the end.
Only when Harry faces the end will he see his deceased relatives through the Resurrection Stone.
"Keep it, it will be of great use." That was all Owen said.
Death requires one to experience it firsthand. It is impossible for Harry to understand the true meaning of death by just talking about it. If Harry is told all of Dumbledore's plans, it may affect his future decisions and lead to terrible consequences.
Harry nodded ignorantly and put the ring away solemnly.
"That's a good thing." Professor Sprout smiled.
"We're one step closer to victory, aren't we?" she said.
Then, he took out a slightly old book from his pocket.
“My gift to Owen Wendy Rozier Sanchez is a small personal gift from me—my collection of poetry.
Besides my busy teaching career and college management, I always try to find some quiet time to read the masterpieces from the Muggle world.
They show the beauty and depth of life from different perspectives and give me endless inspiration and enlightenment.
So, I also tried to imitate the style of those masters with my clumsy writing skills and wrote these crude poems.
I also hope that you can find true courage and strength from these poems.”
Owen took the worn notebook from Professor Sprout.
The cover is made of cheap artificial leather, and the years have left mottled marks on it, and the edges are slightly worn, but this has not diminished its value, but has added a bit of quaint and weathered beauty.
Opening the title page, the familiar handwriting belonging to Dumbledore is clearly visible.
Written on yellowed paper.
