Chapter 10 "Fountain of Youth"
In the end, the group failed to go to the Black Lake.
Mainly because Hogwarts is just too big.
Li Ang felt that he had been deceived by Aunt JK again. The Harry Potter fans were right, JK Rowling knew a lot about Harry Potter!
Hogwarts' castle is built on high ground, and its location is actually quite high.
Last night, getting off the boat at the lakeside boathouse and climbing all the way to the castle gate actually used up all of Li Ang's energy. From other places, the only two directions leading to the lake were the greenhouse and the Quidditch pitch.
So, the group of people fooled around in the castle and the atrium for a while until it was time for dinner, and then went to eat.
It is worth mentioning that the small team with Leon and Annie as the core had two more guys at some point. One was freshman Buckley Wright, who was bitten by a cobra on the train and was also assigned to Hutch. Patch became Leon's loyal fan, and the other one was Audrey Severa, who shared a compartment with Leon on the train.
The small group of four became six. What Li Ang didn't quite understand was... why do the naughty children in the UK have the habit of going to the toilet together?
The first class in the afternoon was the herbal medicine class given by the dean of the college, teaching everyone about Bai Xian. Under Professor Sprout's "favoritism", Li Ang successfully gained five points for his college by reciting the characteristics of Bai Xian. point.
And while the professor was in a good mood, he asked for a small pack of white seeds, planning to go back and plant them himself.
There was nothing he could do about it. As a flower grower, Li Ang couldn't bear to see the flower pots being bare. There were still several empty flower pots in the dormitory. He could earn some income for himself while studying...
On the first day of school, the last class was History of Magic. If the herbal medicine class was completed with laughter, then the History of Magic was completed with snoring.
Li Ang even saw the saliva of the Bant brothers wet the open pages of the tome "History of Magic"...
As for himself, he said that he couldn't stand the ghost professor's teaching methods, which were indeed very hypnotic.
So, he simply put on the earplugs from the Herbology class and finished the homework for the first two classes. As for the format of the paper, he borrowed Severs' paper in the lounge after lunch and read it.
Well, how should I put it?It’s hard to describe in one word…
In Li Ang's inherent impression, a paper should look like this: title-author-table of contents-abstract-keywords-text-references-appendices.
Even if the paper on the magical world is a bit more extensive, it should at least have a title-text-references, right?
However, Severs' thesis can only be described as relying on the defense.
"Senior, tell me honestly, how were your grades last year?" Li Ang shook the parchment in his hand and asked with a raised eyebrow.
As a result, the other party gave a thumbs up proudly: "You are third in the academy, junior!"
So Li Ang was completely disappointed with the education in the Great Empire, so he decided to write his thesis in his own way.
After dinner, you can go to the library and look for reference books. Attach the bibliography to the end of your paper.
The library of Hogwarts is indeed very large. According to Li Ang's preliminary estimation, not counting the restricted book area, it would not be possible to read all the books in the ordinary area in seven years.
Of course, not all the books here are related to magic. On one bookshelf, Li Ang even saw a whole shelf of novels and fairy tales!
Someone suddenly bumped into Li Ang from behind. Looking back, Li Ang found that it was a senior Slytherin.
However, this Slytherin had neither the pretentious politeness nor the aloof arrogance. He looked expressionless and pale. He said sorry without sincerity, and then stuffed the book in his hand back on the bookshelf.
After the other party left, after hesitating for a moment, Li Ang took out the book that had just been stuffed back from the bookshelf.
There are three words written in writing.
"Fountain of Youth"
""Fountain of Youth"? Shouldn't it be "Fountain of Luck"?" Li Ang frowned. If he remembered correctly... this is a story from the Muggle world, right?
During the summer vacation before school started, Leon read a lot of books at Augustus's house. He remembered that he had carefully read every story in "The Tales of Beedle the Poet".
Opening the page, a small piece of parchment fell out.
"Poisonous polyps blood, humanoid grass, Esk herbs, dragon bones, wormwood, Veela hair... what is the formula?" Liang flipped through the pages and saw a line of extremely scrawled writing on the back of the parchment.
"Fake! It's all fake! There is no magic potion of immortality in this world!"
Li Ang looked back at the direction where the senior had just disappeared. After much thought, he finally put this book among other borrowed reference books and went through the borrowing procedures with Mrs. Pingsi.
He had a premonition that he would probably encounter that daredevil again.
It was almost nine o'clock when Li Ang wandered back to the public rest room.
In a magical world with relatively few entertainment activities, the little wizard should basically be sleepy at this time.
However, as soon as Li Ang entered the lounge today, he found a group of people gathered around and chatting animatedly.
"Li Ang, Li Ang, come here quickly!" Annie waved her hands excitedly.
Li Ang squeezed in and suddenly realized.
A senior Hufflepuff was wiping the broomstick on his leg with a woolen cloth.
"Silver Arrow, this year's latest model, has a maximum speed of 70 per hour and excellent wind resistance! Look at those smooth lines..." Severns emerged from nowhere, with a look of enthusiasm on his face.
Li Ang smacked his lips, feeling that Teacher Zhou was right.
People's joys and sorrows are not the same...
He thought it was just a broom, and it was probably the kind that couldn't even sweep the floor.
"Silver arrows...are they expensive?" Li Ang asked a rather layman's question.
Then he saw everyone looking at him in surprise.
"Leon, that's more than expensive!" Rhodes muttered in a low voice, "You can't buy this newly released broom even if you have money!"
The senior sitting on the sofa finally finished wiping the broom, took out his wand and waved it.
A piece of parchment next to him flew to the wall in the break room where notices usually hung.
The person closest read the above aloud.
"...Quidditch tryouts will be held this Sunday. The requirements are for third graders and above, with rich..."
All the substandard little wizards in the lounge instantly became listless.
"Ah, why do we only accept those in third grade and above?" Annie complained, attracting a lot of approval.
"I'll accept you. Can you fly?" Li Ang calmly buried himself on the sofa and took out the "Fountain of Youth" storybook he borrowed today. It's late at night and he wants to change his mind.
The 11-year-old girl straightened her flat figure, put her hands on her hips, and said confidently: "Huh! Of course I can!"
"I've been riding a broomstick in Diagon Alley since I was a kid!"
Li Ang was too lazy to expose her lie.
The business of the Augustus Secondhand Bookstore is not good at all. Not to mention the busiest days before school starts each year, it is unknown whether the combined income for the whole year will be enough to cover the family's expenses.
This does not include the cost of the supplies Anne purchased for school. Although Hogwarts does not charge tuition, other things are not cheap.
If Mrs. Augustus hadn't taken on some private work and helped others brew some potions, the whole family would have had to drink the northwest wind.
Under such circumstances, where would Mr. Augustus get the money to buy a broom for the little Lolita?
Annie knew what he was thinking as soon as she saw Li Ang's expression. She kicked his calf angrily and turned around to go back to the women's dormitory, leaving only Li Ang who was touching his leg and grinning.
What's wrong!
"How's it going? Leon, how's the history of magic today?" Sevens came over and asked with a smile.
"Well, it's very good, very powerful, and the hypnotic effect is very good." Li Ang thought of the ghost professor's calm tone and yawned, "If I had insomnia, I would love that class to death..."
"What are you reading?" Severns suddenly noticed the book in Li Ang's hand, ""The Fountain of Youth"? What is this?"
"Senior, I remember... you are also from a pure-blood family, right?" Li Ang touched the cover thoughtfully, "Then have you heard the story of "The Fountain of Youth" since you were a child?"
"No," Sevens shrugged. "When I was little, my mother read The Tales of Beedle the Bard to me. If I remember correctly, there was a fountain of luck in it..."
"When I was little, I really wanted a bottle of spring water that could bring good luck. Later I found out how expensive that small bottle of elixir was!"
Mainly because Hogwarts is just too big.
