Chapter 29 The invisible hand of time and space

Newbies, look at me and I look at you. Everyone knows that there is a female ghost here who lives in a broken toilet. She will occasionally come out to scare people or cry all night long. But how do you get her out? No one can make a decision.

"Myrtle often appears over there, near the third to fifth cubicles. The senior sisters said she would cry there!" The cooing little girl just now continued.

"Lockhart has at least ten ways to make the female ghost appear!" an admirer said firmly.

Lockhart raised his eyebrows, smiled broadly, and said triumphantly: "I will only demonstrate it once. I hope everyone can watch it carefully and summarize it seriously! I have done this not once or twice!"

He shook his blond hair coolly and rushed into the women's bathroom with long strides. The newbies couldn't help but exclaimed, "Lockhart is so brave."

But then several screams came from inside, including the sentence "Help! There is a pervert!"

Immediately afterwards, poor Lockhart was kicked out by two senior girls. There was a conspicuous footprint on the gold-rimmed robe. These two girls were obviously not his biggest fans.

"Didn't this guy just open the toilet stall..." The corner of Dudley's mouth twitched. He originally thought that Lockhart was just a little vain, but now it seems that this guy definitely has no brains.

The girls sent Lockhart to Professor McGonagall's office and repeatedly emphasized: "He said it himself, he has done this kind of thing not once or twice!"

Lockhart: "..."

The Defense Against the Dark Arts class failed. The newbies cheered heartlessly and dispersed. Only Philo approached Dudley in a very gossipy manner and asked: "What do you think Lockhart saw?"

Dudley rolled his eyes. He was too lazy to pay attention to Philo and ran back to his dormitory. He had indeed read the original novel, but how could he remember the names of the victims except Hermione? He couldn't help the buddy who was going to be petrified today. He had to get this diary as soon as possible to drain the fire!

Biro was still in class, it was perfect, Dudley put his notebook under the light and opened it directly.

Somewhat unexpectedly, the notebook was not empty. The first few pages were densely filled with words. Judging from the crooked writing, it must have been written by Ginny.

Ginny must have discovered the notebook on the day she returned from Flourish and Blotts Bookstore. The first page wrote about their family's encounters in the bookstore, her mother's obsession with Lockhart, and Lucius Malfoy's slander of their family. Ni didn't understand. Even though their family and the Malfoy family were pure-blood families, they were so poor.

These were the thoughts of a little girl. She didn’t know the adult world or the hardships of the Weasleys in giving birth to seven children, so she wrote this question in her notebook. Although she didn’t see any other writing, she said Guess Tom Riddle gave Ginny his own answer at the time.

The topic later turned to Harry. Ginny must have had a crush on Harry at this time, and wrote a lot about Harry's deeds, as well as her conversations with Harry.

Dudley suddenly realized that theoretically, the diary was only the memory of Tom Riddle when he was 16 years old. How could he know about Harry's existence? It now seems that he should have known it from Ginny's description, or perhaps it was in Ginny's hands. , the diary was also communicated with Lucius, but Lucius had always been fierce on the outside and shy on the inside. Perhaps because of his inner fear, he did not put the diary directly into Harry's bag, but gave it to Ginny.

The content on the last page suddenly turned to the discussion of bloodline. It should be that the diary has controlled part of Ginny's thoughts at this time, luring her closer to the "pure blood theory", and thus using Ginny to move in the castle and open the secret room. Invited the basilisk.

Dudley looked at the quill on the table, but finally did not pick up the pen to write. He did not know how strong the memory in the diary was, and he was not sure whether his firearms would be effective against the memory.

It was not that he had never thought about handing the diary to Dumbledore. With Dumbledore's strength, it should be easy to detect the breath of black magic in the diary, but Dudley thought about his experience during this period, even if he existed Some things have changed, but there seems to be an invisible hand in the entire time and space that will always get the plot back on track, such as Ron's broken wand.

He thought about Dumbledore's death due to contact with Marvolo Gaunt's ring.Could he have obtained the diary out of curiosity and even wanted to save the soul of Tom Riddle as a boy, thereby suffering Voldemort's curse in advance? If Dudley were Voldemort, he would definitely be wary of the diary falling into the hands of Dumbledore when asking Lucius to return the diary to the castle.

Dudley was hesitant for a moment, mainly because he knew that if he didn't participate, Harry would still destroy the basilisk. He joined, but the future became more uncertain.

After much deliberation, he finally hid the diary under the bed, intending to follow the original plan and see if he could ambush the basilisk.

As soon as he walked out of the dormitory, a group of panicked newbies came towards him. He grabbed one of them and found out that Colin Creevey had been petrified into a statue, and there was a warning written in blood on the scene:

The secret room has been opened. Those who are enemies of the successor, beware!

Before, it was just a cat, which had already caused people to panic, but now it was a human being, and the castle was immediately put on the highest alert. The junior students were once again asked to return to the dormitory immediately, and the faculty and senior students organized an inspection team. The castle is to be thoroughly inspected.

Dudley took out his walkie-talkie and called the twins, and with their help found Harry.

Harry looked very sad. He must have heard the basilisk's whisper again. By coincidence, he appeared at the first scene again, and the rumors about him became even more rampant.

"Professor McGonagall explained the Chamber of Secrets," Hermione told Dudley: "Everyone has always thought it was a legend, but now it seems to be true. They say Harry is the heir..."

"Nonsense, he and I are cousins, so I might be the heir!" Dudley curled his lips.

"But I...I can hear that voice..." Harry said with pain on his face.

"I heard the voice too. Did it say something like wanting to tear you apart or kill you?" Dudley said.

Harry was shocked: "How do you know, I have never told anyone the content!"

Dudley shrugged, pointed to the walkie-talkie in his hand and said, "Have you ever seen this guy?"

"It's a walkie-talkie... we've seen it in war movies!" Harry said.

"Do you know how this thing works?" Dudley asked.

Harry was stunned, he had never used this thing before, but Hermione said: "The walkie-talkie can emit radio waves, and a receiving device in the same frequency band can receive it... Ah! I understand, what Dudley means is that the monster emits radio waves. There is a sound that ordinary people cannot hear, but people who happen to have similar frequency band reception capabilities can hear it!”

"Yes!" Dudley said: "The monster's words are not directed at anyone. Don't feel pressured. We just happen to have the ability to accept this voice. Who doesn't have super powers yet..."

"Take Hermione for example," Dudley pointed at Hermione and said, "Who in the whole grade is smarter than her? Who has a better memory than her?"

Hermione's face was slightly red, but she could tell that the flattery was quite useful to her.

"For example, Ron...well...let's not talk about Ron..."

Ron: "..."

After what Dudley said, Harry felt much better.Dudley reminded them not to act alone and to tell him if anything happened, and then returned to Hufflepuff's dormitory.

There was no one in the dormitory, but Dudley's textbooks were scattered on the floor, as if someone had turned the place upside down.

Dudley was shocked and hurriedly went under the bed to touch the diary, but there was nothing under the bed.

Dudley sat down on the ground. There really was an invisible hand in time and space, putting the plot back on track...
