After dinner, Zhou Yang returned to the office and began to formally study the establishment of the gun-sighting radar project.

Although this radar is just a "gadget" in Nie's eyes, it doesn't arouse any interest at all.

After all, in his opinion, only ultra-long-range early warning radars like 7010 and high-precision radars like pulse Doppler can be regarded as "big guys" and the real country's important weapons.

But in Zhou Yang's eyes, the importance of gun sight radar is no less than that of airborne fire control radar, even worse!

The reason is simple, urgent!

You must know that whether it is radar or other weapons and equipment, the meaning of its existence is to serve war.

As expected, a border war will break out three years later, that is, a self-defense counterattack against the southern monkeys.

Although the opponent is far weaker than the United Nations army more than 20 years ago, even from the beginning of the war to the end of the war, the enemy army has never broken through the border defense line of our army.

But this battle was still very difficult, and the casualties far exceeded our army's estimates.

During the entire war, there were very few cases where we actually dispatched fighter jets to fight the opponent in the air. Instead, most of the cases were jungle guerrilla warfare and positional offensive and defensive warfare with the enemy.

Therefore, compared with the airborne pulse Doppler radar, the gun sight radar uses a higher frequency and plays a greater role in war!

Of course, the reason why it is urgent is that the domestic artillery radar is too backward.

The reason why our artillery sighting radar lags behind is due to technical reasons on the one hand, but there are also factors that have not been paid enough attention to.

After all, the "black technology" of artillery sighting radar was able to appear because Western countries represented by Europe and the United States developed it for us. This radar system was originally based on our artillery as a reference.

Speaking of this, I have to talk about the war that took place on the Korean Peninsula in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Everyone's first impression of the volunteer army is often "cooked noodles and rifles", which used inferior equipment to fight against the United Nations army armed to the teeth.

But in fact, the Volunteer Army also attaches great importance to artillery, but the "baby bumps" such as howitzers and rocket launchers are really not enough.

However, like recoilless guns and mortars, we were able to produce and guarantee the ammunition of the portable accompanying artillery at that time, so that the soldiers on the front line could "build it with strength."

There is a statistic that everyone may not have imagined. In the stage of positional warfare, the number of regiment and battalion-level light artillery of the Volunteer Army is even higher than that of the "United Nations Army."

When it comes to the "cold guns and cold guns" movement, the "United Nations Army" is completely overwhelmed, because the mortar technology of the Volunteers is so perfect.

Simple shooting without a gun mount, and simultaneous firing of single guns are all "basic exercises". Ultra-close-range extreme shooting, top delivery of explosives, and other tricks have also been turned into "art performances."

The Volunteer Army even used mortars as sniper weapons. One person and one cannon is an army, killing hundreds of enemies in one battle. Movies dare not do this, which shows how strong the Volunteer Artillery is. (Interested comrades can search for Mr. Tang Hongzhang)

At that time, artillery position detection mainly relied on the intersection of frontier visual observation and sound ranging, and the means were extremely backward.

The most important thing is that the pyrotechnic characteristics of the mortar are not obvious, and the sound is not loud, and the beaten "United Nations Army" can't find a target for revenge.

Basically, they were bombed in the morning, and the United Nations Army called for long-range artillery fire and air support, and they were beaten indiscriminately, and they had to continue to be bombed in the afternoon.

Therefore, the Western countries, after learning from the painful experience, made up their minds to carry forward their technological advantages and create a "black technology" to prevent them from being educated in the future.

First, the beautiful General Electric Company of the Thieves came up with the an/mpq-1957 short-range mortar detection and positioning radar in 4, and then the Sann Electronics Company of the British sauce launched the "Green Arrow" radar in 1962.

Although we have also developed a 370 and 372 artillery reconnaissance radar, the response is too slow. When the opponent's position is determined, they will run away early, and their actual combat capabilities are too weak.

Therefore, this time Zhou Yang is going to study a super artillery reconnaissance radar that can hit the South Monkey artillery!

In Zhou Yang's mind, there are several types of artillery reconnaissance radars, both domestic and imported.

Foreign ones are older, such as the "Simblin" short-range mortar reconnaissance radar produced by the joint research of Britain and Germany, and the an/tpq-37 radar of the Javelin, the an/tpq-48/49 artillery radar and so on.

As for the country, there are more, such as Simberlin's domestic improved version 371, slc-2 series, bl-904 series and ylc-48 series artillery detection radar system, which completely covers the long, medium and short range.

These radars Zhou Yang had either done in-depth research in his previous life, or guided the imitation of them. Most of them are relatively familiar, and he also knows the key technologies.

If you really want to do it, you can basically do it.

But which one to study in the end must be carefully considered.

Radar is not the more advanced the performance, the better, and the national conditions have to be considered.

At the moment, Zhou Yang leaned on his desk, thinking carefully about the equipment of the domestic army and the production capacity of the military industry.

At the same time, the quality of domestic soldiers, national finances, etc. are also considered.

Not only that, but we also have to analyze the situation of our opponent, the Southern Monkey Country. After all, he researched this radar to deal with these monkeys jumping up and down, so he had to prescribe the right medicine.

Soon, the manuscript paper in front of him was filled with various elements.

After analysis, Zhou Yang believes that what the country urgently needs right now is a short-range artillery reconnaissance radar with superior performance, which mainly deals with artillery such as mortars and howitzers, rather than ballistic missiles.

Moreover, this radar must have the characteristics of simple operation, low cost, easy production, and quick installation.

You must know that from now until the outbreak of the war, it will only take three years if the time is full.

In such a short period of time, it is not easy to not only pass the equipment research and development, but also to be accepted by the military and installed in troops, and more importantly, to let the frontline troops use it proficiently.

It's too complicated, and no one can operate it.

After all, there are not many soldiers in the army who are college students, and even those with a high school diploma would not join the army. Isn't it embarrassing for you to come out with the whole complex system.

After summarizing these requirements, Zhou Yang first thought of the Jaeger's AN/TPQ-37 radar and its domestically improved Type 373 ballistic positioning radar.

These two radars belong to the latter and imitate the former. On the surface, they seem to be the relationship between the genuine product of the Bank of China and the copycat, but in fact, their performance is better than blue.

In terms of performance, these two radars can meet the needs of the battlefield, and they can completely beat the broken artillery of the Southern Monkey Kingdom.

But... Both of these radars use a solid-state active phased array system, which is definitely the most cutting-edge technology at the moment.

If you really want to set up a project to study these two radars, it is not a small project. First, you have to lead a team to overcome the solid-state active phased array technology.

This is not difficult. What is difficult is that with the current level of technology in China, even if he designed it, he may not be able to produce it.

After all, my country actually produced solid-state active phased array radars in the mid-90s, which is more than 20 years behind now.

After thinking about it again and again, Zhou Yang finally decided to complete the domestic 371 radar first.

The reason why it is 371 is mainly because this kind of radar is relatively simple in technology, and it uses the old-fashioned "Foster" scanner, which is convenient for research and development and production.

The most important thing is that this thing is relatively simple to operate, and it has passed the battlefield test in the counterattack against the Southern Monkey.

Of course, it wasn't 371 that was really tested, but his predecessor, Simbelin Radar.

The artillery reconnaissance radar that we bought back at a cost of US$96 directly destroyed the confidence of the artillery in the South Monkey Kingdom, leaving behind a series of battlefield myths.

Now if its improved model 371 is produced, the war will really break out, and the Southern Monkeys who haven't fought will be looking for teeth all over the place!

Thinking of this, Zhou Yang made a formal decision, the target——371!
