The comprehensive performance of the Type 1473 radar is very excellent. On the one hand, the computer network technology is not up to par, and on the other hand, it is extremely difficult to manufacture the transmitting and receiving components. Even if you know how to do it, you can't make it.

Relatively speaking, the technical difficulty of passive phased array radar is much less.

Although passive phased array radar is not as good as active phased array radar in terms of power, efficiency, beam control and reliability, it is significantly better than ordinary mechanical scanning radar in terms of function, so it can be regarded as a better compromise solution. .

Therefore, before a qualified active phased array radar is developed, passive phased array radar can be used as a transitional product.

Moreover, even after the active phased array radar is successfully developed, the passive phased array radar, as a low-end product of the phased array radar family, still has great practical value.
