A day of learning magic at Hogwarts

Chapter 19 Snape and Quirrell

Ian began to wonder if this teacher who didn't wash his hair had a grudge against him.

But he soon realized that this was simply too much worry.

If we really want to say "there is a grudge", Professor Severus Snape definitely has grudges not only with himself, but with almost all the students in the class!

Potions class continued on, and the students were in a dire situation.

Professor Snape divided them into teams of two and instructed them to mix a simple potion to cure boils.

Then, dragging his long black cloak, he walked around the classroom like a big black bat; watching them weigh dry nettles, crush snake fangs, and make decoction.

Almost all students have been criticized, whether they are Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.

Thankfully, there were no subsequent points deductions.

But even so, the process of preparing the potion for Ian and Ernie MacMillan's team went smoothly.

Looking at the clear light yellow potion in the crucible in front of me, I have to say that I still feel a sense of accomplishment.

Professor Snape walked past them and looked in the direction of the cauldron a few more times, but he seemed unable to find anything wrong.

He then turned his attention to the team of Justin Finch-Fletchley and Hannah Abbott.

The sarcastic voice sounded again: "Finreli, Aibo, are you sure that this thing you made can really be applied to people's bodies?"

An hour later, they climbed out of the underground classroom along the steps.

Everyone complained.

"I finally understand what Cedric means!" Ernie said a little unhappy, "Snape is indeed a bad teacher!"

"It is said that he is very partial to students from Slytherin House, and is very harsh and unreasonable towards students from other houses!" Hannah chased after them at this time, "He is the dean of Slytherin House. .”

"I hope Professor Sprout will also be a little more partial to us."

Professor Pomona Sprout is the Head of House of Hufflepuff and is in charge of Herbology.

"You're not still feeling guilty about the points deduction, are you?" Ernie glanced at Ian and asked in a low voice.

"Of course not!" Ian shook his head quickly.

He was just thinking about something -

Although this thought was somewhat personal, this unreasonable Potions teacher did leave a very bad impression on me.

Ian reason bets five pennies, this guy is definitely an out-and-out villain in the plot.

Humph, maybe he is the undercover agent planted by the mysterious man at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!

In the end, he was discovered and defeated by the powerful protagonist Harry Potter.

It must be so!

……

The next course waiting for them is Defense Against the Dark Arts.

This course is obviously one that Ian is very interested in.

Because as you can tell from the name, the content of this course is related to magical battles between wizards.

However, contrary to expectations, Professor Quirrell's course almost became a joke.

Professor Quirinus Quirrell was one of the few professors that Ian had met before coming to Hogwarts.

That was the first day that he knew he was a wizard. When they followed Professor Minerva McGonagall to Gringotts to exchange currency, they met this thin wizard.

It seemed that he was also in the wizarding bank in Gringotts, trying to pick up something.

Although I didn't remember his name at the time, the pale and nervous young man left a little impression on Ian.

At that time, he thought, could such a wizard really become a qualified teacher?

Ian's worries are unreasonable——

Although Professor Quirrell was in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, he was not as nervous as he was at Gringotts. But his face still turned red from time to time, entering a red temperature state, and then he stuttered when speaking... At the same time, he also had a big purple scarf around his neck.

Professor Quirrell's classroom was filled with the smell of garlic. Everyone said it was to drive away a vampire he met in Romania, fearing that the vampire would come back to catch him.

He told them that his scarf was a gift from an African prince as a thank you for helping him get rid of the zombies, but no one could say whether he really believed this story.

And when Ernie MacMillan impatiently asked Professor Quirrell how to defeat the resurrected zombies, the professor's face turned red, he was vague, and finally changed the subject and started talking about the weather.

The content of the course was also extremely boring. Professor Quirrell picked up a copy of "Dark Magic: A Guide to Self-Defense" and read the contents of the book according to the text like a puppet on a string; he paused from time to time because of stammering.

This feeling made Ian feel like he was back in the ideological and political class in middle school.

When he was bored, Ian took a strong sniff.

Suddenly, he smelled a strong smell coming from the big purple scarf around Professor Quirrell's neck.

Damn, isn’t that stuffed with garlic too?

Professor Quirrell was too worried about the vampire he encountered in Romania and worried that it would come to his door; so he deliberately carried a large amount of garlic with him and hid it in his scarf as a precaution?

Ian made wild guesses.

……

The class continued, and Ian looked at the other students in the classroom.

Taking classes with the Hufflepuff students were the students of Gryffindor House.

This was also the first time that Ian Traister had close contact with the first-year Gryffindor students.

"Look!" Ernie pouted at him, pointed to a seat on the right behind them in a low voice, and said, "Harry Potter! The Boy-Who-Lived!"

It is indeed Harry Potter. He has a pair of bright green eyes, dark and messy black hair (there are always a few unruly strands of hair sticking up on the back of his head), and a faint, thin lightning-shaped scar on his forehead.

Sitting next to him was a red-haired boy who looked clumsy.

Just looking at him like this, Ian's first impression was that the other person was a very ordinary 11-year-old boy.

He doesn't have the aura that he imagined he would have as a protagonist.

Mr. Potter himself obviously found this class a bit boring and absent-minded.

Facing the "peeping" eyes around him, he seemed a little uncomfortable.
