The man behind Hogwarts
Chapter 139 Quirrell takes over the class
After receiving Fox's message, Quirrell immediately rushed to the principal's office, and happened to meet Professor Sinistra at the top of the stairs, who had the same purpose.
Quirrell greeted her warmly and curiously asked her why she came.
"Did Fox also send you a message?" He suddenly became curious. "I wonder if it's just the two of us or there will be other teachers."
Dong dong dong,
"Please come in."
"Headmaster, are you looking for us?" Quirrell walked in and asked first. He also studied at Hogwarts when he was a student, so he was naturally more familiar with his principal.
"Well, please take a seat. Professor Sinistra, please take a seat." Dumbledore stood up to greet them, and then sat on the chair with them.
"I'm looking for your opinion on something." He said slowly, "Professor Crohn, who teaches the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, has to take three months off due to some personal matters, so I need to ask for your opinion during these three months. The teacher will help him take over the get out of class."
"So I thought of you, and I wonder if you would be willing?"
After hearing his words, the expressions of the two people opposite them changed slightly.
Quirrell looked happy,
He had long coveted Crohn's position, but he didn't expect that there would be a chance to realize it now. He almost couldn't help but agree immediately, but at least he suppressed his joy and wanted to hear the other person's opinion first.
Unlike the delighted Quirrell,
Sinistra frowned slightly.
As a senior school teacher, how could she not have heard of the curse of the Defense Against the Dark Arts course? Everything she had seen and heard over the years showed how strange this course was.
No teacher can teach for a whole year. They either resign themselves or are forced to resign. Some teachers' reasons for resigning are even funny. Sometimes she can't help but wonder whether it is a curse or a coincidence;
Because there was no evidence to prove that it was a curse, Dumbledore also invited some teachers to participate in the original investigation. The participants found nothing, so the matter was dropped.
Thinking of this, her heart trembled and she felt a sense of crisis.
"Is the curse of this course starting again this year? No, I can't take this class... Not only that, I have to do some divination when I go back in the evening... There happens to be an astronomy class tonight, and you can use the stars for divination."
Thinking like this, she said frankly: "I'm sorry principal, the schedule of 'Astronomy' class is very tight, I'm afraid I don't have time."
Dumbledore said nothing, nodded slightly, and turned to look at Quirrell.
Quirrell was happy, but after hearing Sinista's words, he was also a little worried.
"Principal, I am willing to help Professor Crohn teach. However, the 'Muggle Studies' course I am currently teaching is also very tight, so I am afraid there will be a conflict in time."
This is true,
Hogwarts has four houses and seven grades. Although the 'Muggle Studies' class is optional, it also has a lot of class hours.
"Well, that's definitely a problem."
Dumbledore pondered: "How about I help you teach part of the Muggle Studies class? I know a little bit about this class... I don't know if the knowledge from decades ago is still applicable to the current curriculum."
Quirrell and the two looked at each other and smiled, but neither of them took his last words seriously.
"If this is possible, then I'm completely relieved and I'm willing to take the 'Defense Against the Dark Arts' class." Quirrell nodded decisively.
"Okay, then it's settled, Professor Quirrell, you'll go ask Professor Crohn later and discuss the teaching plan for the next three months."
"Okay, principal."
Dumbledore smiled gently, feeling relieved.
"To tell you the truth, I receive at least one letter criticizing my teaching work every week. Now that I finally have the opportunity to go to class again, I hope there will be fewer letters criticizing me in the future...I am satisfied with one letter every two weeks. "
"They don't understand your hard work at all." Quirrell said angrily.
"I also sometimes receive letters. Some parents ask why wizards need to take astronomy classes. I don't understand why wizards need to learn astronomy. Are wizards also planning a moon landing plan..."
Hearing Sinista's words, the other two couldn't help laughing.
"It seems like this problem is bothering us all."
"Yeah, sometimes I really don't want to reply."
"He actually asked me if I had any results after studying Muggles for so many years. It's so annoying."
……
……
After chatting, the two left the principal's office.
Sinistra stopped Quirrell in the corridor and looked at the smile on his face with some confusion, "Professor Quirrell, why do you feel that you really want to take the 'Defense Against the Dark Arts' class? Don't you know the strange phenomena in that class?" ?”
"You mean the curse?"
Sinista nodded: "Although we didn't find out whether it was a curse or not, we can clearly remember what happened over the years. This cannot be faked."
As a wizard who studies astronomy, she is inevitably exposed to divination, such as astrology, tarot cards, prophecies, etc. Day after day, she has a sense of awe for these uncertain things.
There are some things that not even magic can explain!
"Professor, you are worrying too much. I think this curse does not exist at all."
Quirrell looked confident: "It just so happens that all I have been exposed to in these years is theoretical knowledge, and now I might be able to take this opportunity to increase my practical knowledge."
"But..." Sinistra hesitated.
"Okay, then you should be more careful."
Watching Quirrell leave, she shook her head slightly;
I wanted to persuade him, but since he had made up his mind, I had no choice but to let him go.
"Ignore him, I'd better do a divination for myself quickly to see if my destiny has changed."
……
……
Quirrell couldn't wait to find Crohn, "Professor Crohn, I will be your substitute teacher for the next three months."
Looking at the excited Quirrell, Crohn muttered to himself.
He doesn't look like a teacher suitable for 'Defense Against the Dark Arts', so why did he just happen to be chosen?
What about Snape?
What about Sinistra?
Relatively speaking, Crohn recognized Snape more because the two had similar auras.
"Great, I'll trouble you later, Professor Quirrell." The corners of his mouth raised on his face, but he still couldn't smile. He felt that his smiling muscles were rusty.
Crohn asked Quirrell to sit down and handed him a manuscript.
"This is the teaching schedule I originally made. Professor Quirrell, you can refer to it. The progress of the first and second grade courses is okay and has exceeded my schedule. As for the third grade and above, the progress is a little slower."
"No problem, I'll take it back and study it first. If I don't understand anything, I'll ask you again. By the way, Professor Crohn, when will you leave?"
"Saturday, two days left."
"No problem, then I'll hurry up." Quirrell agreed with high spirits.
Crohn nodded in agreement.
"It's only been three months. What can go wrong in such a short period of time..."
