[HP] Become a new Hogwarts legend

Chapter 14 Heavy snow, footprints, and petrified people

It was already the second day since he came out of the hospital wing. The snow that had fallen since last night had turned into a fierce blizzard. Nolen counted the trees on the roadside that were holding the snow and barely walked to the grounds of the Care of Magical Creatures course. It was empty. There was no one, only a small house shining with warm light in the gloomy sky.

Professor Kettleburn's office was located at the edge of the Forbidden Forest. Nolen knocked on the door tentatively, and stretched out a hand from the crack in the door to pull Nolen, who was almost freezing, into the room.

Plunging into the warmth, her mind was still in a daze. It wasn't until Professor Kettleburn stuffed a cup of hot cocoa into her hand that she gradually woke up and began to carefully observe her surroundings.

There is not much furniture in the room. A messy work table is placed in the most conspicuous place, which is piled with various manuscripts and books. Magic photos of various magical animals are hung on the four walls. The largest one is a A golden Chinese Fireball Dragon, which may be why he only has one and half legs left.

"Are you okay? Miss Lynn." Professor Kettleburn added a fire to the stove with his wand and asked Nolen to sit down. "Sit down and warm yourself up. Today's class is cancelled. Your prefect is not here." Have you been notified?"

"Sorry, Professor, I just came out of the medical wing. I probably missed the prefect's notice," Nolen said embarrassedly.

"I'm sorry, I can't escort you back to the castle." Professor Kettleburn playfully waved his prosthetic limb, "I'm afraid you have to sit with this bad old man like me for a while, please feel free to do it."

Nolen nodded vigorously and adjusted himself to a more comfortable position on the sofa.

She likes this cute and eccentric old man.

The professor's encyclopedic knowledge of magical animals gave them endless topics to talk about. They talked about birds and snakes, fire crabs, and fire dragons. When Nolen mentioned the dragon farm in the canyon behind the manor, his deep eyes A fiery light burst out.

The snow kept falling outside all the time, and the sound of wind getting louder and louder, the sound of flying snowflakes and the sound of wind blowing on the wooden door and hitting the door frame were mixed together, but it did not disturb the warm atmosphere in the house at all.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Suddenly, there was a rapid knock on the door among the noise. Nolen held down the professor who was about to get up and walked towards the door.

She just opened it a crack, and the biting cold wind rushed into the room, mixed with sharp snowflakes and scraped on her face. She could hardly open her eyes, only feeling two tall figures rushing in, one of them One hit her directly, holding her in his arms and staggering for several steps before she regained her balance.

The wooden door was closed again with the help of Professor Kettleburn's spell. She rubbed her head, which was knocked dizzy, and then she could clearly see the person in front of her.

Is one of the twins.

Snowflakes fell between his fiery red hair, turning into water and moistening the ends of his hair. He tossed his hair casually, and suddenly turned his head to look at Nolen. He was startled at first, and then raised a bright smile.

"I know my handsomeness is indeed very attractive, but you don't have to be so focused, Nolen."

Nolen choked for a moment, and the admiration that had just emerged a second ago was instantly extinguished. George came over shamelessly, and she clenched her fists and was about to say hello to that "overly handsome" handsome face.

"Ahhhh-help" George shouted for help, with a smile on his face that reached his ears.

He held Nolen's slender wrist, held her in his arms with his height advantage, and pushed her until she couldn't get up on the sofa.

"Let go, let go -" Nolen pushed George who was holding him down with his hands and feet. The two of them hit him from the sofa to sitting on the ground. George finally let go of his hand.

Both of them stopped and gasped for air, and then they suddenly remembered the other two people in the hut.

Fred was sitting on the armrest of Professor Kettleburn's single sofa. Both of them were holding a cup of steaming cocoa and watching with gusto. Seeing that the two people had finally ceased fighting, Fred was not afraid of trouble. The other side applauded.

"Childish!" Nolen's face turned red to the roots of her ears. She got up angrily and ran to the window to sit down. She ignored them with her head down and pretended to look at the scenery.

Fog covered the glass, making everything outside the window hazy. Behind her, Fred and George's shrill voices imitating hers reached her ears. She drew two pig heads on the window angrily. Also use arrows pointing to their names.

Professor Kettleburn brought a plate of butter biscuits and put it on the coffee table. He raised his hand to stop the two boys from laughing. The room suddenly became quiet, except for the crackling sound of the stove from time to time.

The snow was still falling freely outside the house, and Nolen began to worry about when they would be able to go back.

"Miss Nolen——"

Nolen felt someone poking him from behind. He turned around suddenly and saw an enlarged face in front of him. The distance between the two people was almost nose to nose.

"Ah - what are you doing!" Nolen was so frightened that he collapsed on his chair, and then responded angrily.

"I was scared again." Fred leaned on the window sill and tilted his head to look at Nolen, "Miss Angry Bun"

"Don't laugh at her, Fred." George took out something from his arms and held it mysteriously in his hand, "I'll show you something good-dang-dang-dang."

It's a pink velvet.

It was taking a nap in George's hand, its fine soft fur trembling slightly with its breathing. The three people's gazes did not disturb its sound sleep. It rolled over and made a contented buzzing sound.

"So cute." Nolen's attention was instantly diverted. She curled her fingers and gently scratched the soft fur of the cattails, and narrowed her eyes with a satisfied smile.

"Our brothers found this little guy in the Forbidden Forest"

"It's hiding in a pile of dead wood"

"Shivering"

"delicate and charming"

There was a look of pity on Nolen's face. George motioned for her to open her hand and put Pu Rong in her open palm. Pu Rong rubbed it and continued to sleep in her tiger's mouth.

A faint scar spread from her tiger's mouth to her wrist. George looked at her strangely. Nolan, who was obviously addicted to the velvet, didn't care.

"This is an almost adult cattail"

Professor Kettleburn didn't know when he came to them. He turned the velvet over so that its belly was facing up, and observed its tongue. The conclusion he finally came to made the three of them almost drop their jaws.

"Then why is it so small?" Nolen closed his palms and opened them, just enough to cover it, "Well, it's about half a circle smaller than the one I raised before."

"It's much smaller than Ron's fat and ugly puffer." Fred looked at the puffer with a complicated expression, as if he thought of something ugly through it, and Nolen glared at him. One glance.

"I think it is probably a very rare naturally mutated velvet variety." Professor Kettleburn waved his hand, walked to the workbench, and rummaged through the messy stacks of books. "I remember where there is a record - found "

"The mutated species recorded in "The Origin of Species" is the Appaloosa Puff, which was illegally bred by a New York wizard - of course, mutated species have been found in China, Russia and other places, but unfortunately the breeding experiments have been Failed before adulthood.”

The three of them exchanged glances, and they all read the same thing in each other's eyes.

-------------------------------------

The snow gradually subsided, and the three of them bid farewell to Professor Kettleburn and embarked on the path back to the castle.

Nolen jumped and left footprints on the snow. Fred and George behind them threw the furry ball around and accidentally hit Nolen on the back of the head.

"Fred! George!"

Nolen picked up the velvet and stuffed it into his arms, made a snowball and threw it at the two people who were gloating at the back. The three of them had a great time playing on the snow.

"I skipped a Defense Against the Dark Arts class." When he was tired from playing, Nolen landed on a tree stump protruding from the snow, "I really can't stand Lockhart's story session anymore."

"Hey, do you want to know the three required courses at Hogwarts?" Fred and George squatted next to Nolen, one on the left and one on the right, and said in harmony.

"Skipping class——"

"in love--"

"And the 'Troll'——"

"Congratulations to our Miss Nolen for achieving the achievement of skipping classes!"

The two men made a gesture of lighting fireworks, which made Nolen laugh.

They had already skipped school anyway, and the three of them planned to take a detour to visit Hagrid's hut. Halfway there, Nolen stopped strangely.

"Someone came to Hagrid in the snow—a girl."

On the road leading from the castle to Hagrid's hut, there were two rows of footprints. One row was half buried in the snow, and the other row was still fresh. It looked like the small leather shoes often worn by girls.

"Maybe it's Hermione. The three of them are very friendly with Hagrid." Fred analyzed.

Nolen nodded, and the three of them continued walking towards the cabin. As soon as they approached the chicken coop, they heard Hagrid's deep cry.

"Are you okay? Hagrid!" The three people shouted to Hagrid as they accelerated towards the hut.

"Oh - Nolen, and you, Fred, George." Hagrid sobbed, wiping the tears from his face with his hands, his balaclava-style wool hat tilted to one side, "Already this This is the second chicken killed this semester!”

They looked toward the chicken shed and saw a rooster lying on the ground. The chicken's blood had spread to the outside of the shed and had not yet solidified. Nolen was stunned in place, and suddenly felt a trembling feeling in his heart.

The footprints disappear here.

"Stop crying, Hagrid." George patted Hagrid's generous back. "No matter what killed your chicken, you should go to the professor now to cast a protective spell on the chicken coop."

Hagrid's crying stopped immediately. He adjusted his woolen hat, picked up the dead chicken, said "Thank you, Fred" and strode towards the castle.

"Oh, please, I'm George." George looked up to the sky and sighed, reaching out to poke Nolen, who was stunned on the spot, "Hey, come to your senses, you angry guy."

"We have to go back to the castle, something might have happened." Nolen turned around and caught up with Hagrid. Fred and George also looked at each other and went after Nolen resignedly.

The snowy path was winding and difficult, and the three of them couldn't catch up with Hagrid. They slipped and fell several times on the road, and finally ran into the castle after Hagrid.

It is still class time, and students who have classes are still in the classroom. Most students who do not have classes choose to stay in the lounge overnight, so the corridor is empty except for the whistling sound of the wind passing through the corridor.

"There's no one around, how could something happen?" Fred wiped his bruised palms on his clothes and complained.

Nolen's mind settled down, and just when he was about to turn around and explain something, a scream broke through the air.

"Oops!"

The three people raised their legs and rushed upstairs. Many students poked their heads out of the classroom to check the source of the sound. The corridor was already in chaos, and everyone was pushing forward. Nolen stopped at the entrance of the stairs, and Fred and George squeezed in with their height advantage.

Professor McGonagall came flying from the other side, her wand made a loud noise, everyone fell silent instantly, and she ordered everyone to return to the classroom.

The onlookers gradually dispersed, and Nolen saw Harry in the crowd, who was about to be squeezed into a corner. He seemed to have some conflict with MacMillan, and both of them were scolded by Professor McGonagall.

The accident ended with Peeves' singing and Professor McGonagall's scolding. She watched the two petrified people being carried to the hospital wing, and Fred and George returned to her side.

"Who was petrified again?" Pu Rongrong squirmed uneasily in his arms, and Nolen came back to his senses.

"Justin of Hufflepuff and Nearly Headless Nick" George and Fred's expressions were terrifyingly calm, and they were obviously a little scared.

They tacitly turned to the corridor on the other side, passing by the History of Magic classroom, where the students in class had been rushed back to the lounge.

They were walking without saying a word with their heads lowered. Suddenly, Fred was caught by something under his feet and threw himself forward.

"What!" Fred looked at the empty ground, a little confused.

"Stop the curse!" Nolen's eyes spotted an undulating thing on the ground, and he immediately took out his wand and pointed it at it.

A boy's face soon appeared in front of the three of them. He was lying stiffly on the ground, his eyes were red, and his school uniform was in a mess. The effectiveness of the Illusion Body Curse gradually disappeared. He moved his hands and feet and slowly sat up.

Nolen recognized it. This was the Foley boy, Edmund Foley.

"Need help? Foley" Nolen squatted down and asked softly.

Edmund trembled, as if he had been frightened. He raised his head as fast as lightning, and then quickly lowered his head when he saw Gryffindor's red tie.

"No - no - thank you" Edmund shook his head vigorously, struggled to get up, refused the three people's help, and walked down stiffly.

"Forley - did you see or hear anything?" Just as Edmund was about to step onto the stairs, Nolen suddenly shouted at his back.

Edmund's body stiffened for a moment, his hands unconsciously clenched his robe, turned around tremblingly, gave a sad smile, and stammered.

"I-I didn't-see nothing, hear nothing."

After saying that, he ran down quickly. The three people exchanged glances, and they all saw full of distrust in each other's eyes. George was about to chase him, but Nolen grabbed him.

"Stop chasing him, he won't tell me." Nolen looked down at the intricate spiral staircase with a strange calmness on his face, "Let me think of another way."
