A sharp Hogwarts
Chapter 49 Yeqi and Phoenix
Dalia originally thought that Dumbledore was an ink-stained old wizard who was about to retire.
After all, in the original plot, the old man usually only shows up at critical moments and makes some afterthoughts.
But when Professor McGonagall came over on Saturday morning, she realized that Dumbledore's "free range" strategy was only targeting Harry.
"The Headmaster would like to have a chat with you, Miss Dursley."
Professor McGonagall said this and led Dalia out of the auditorium without any explanation.
"Professor," Dalia looked behind her to confirm that her little Thestral was still hanging behind her, "Did Professor Dumbledore tell me what it is-"
"I am only responsible for taking you there, I don't know about other things." Professor McGonagall replied briefly.
She glanced behind Dalia from the corner of her eye, glanced at the little Thestral who was shaking its head, and added in particular.
“My advice though is – don’t try to hide it, tell the truth.”
"I'm not hiding anything-"
"Oh, really? That's of course the best."
Professor McGonagall said noncommittally, frowning slightly.
Over the past week, she had tried various magical means to detect Dalia's letter.
From breaking the spell to tracing the origins of handwriting and ink; from paper identification to her and Dumbledore's magical signatures...
Even the ingredients of the magic ink pad on the wax seal were carefully compared one by one by Mag.
The final conclusion is that from an objective point of view, there is no problem with this letter.
It was as if the letter had actually been written by her own hand and then forgotten—which she might have thought if she had not reviewed the admission letter.
Professor McGonagall shook his head and tried to suppress the uneasiness in his heart.
Forget it, these matters... let Professor Dumbledore handle them personally.
The two of them walked up the stairs in silence, turned a corner at the entrance to the Gryffindor House Lounge, and finally stopped in front of an ugly stone beast with a gargoyle.
"Zizi honey candy!"
Professor McGonagall said it was clearly a command line - albeit one that didn't sit well with Gryffindor House.
The monster suddenly came to life and jumped to the side. The wall behind it separated to the left and right, revealing an aisle.
Although Dalia was worried about the "historic" conversation she was going to have later, she couldn't help but look at the aisle and the stone beast a few more times.
Some of the construction of Hogwarts Castle clearly does not follow laws in the conventional sense.
For example, the spiral staircase that appears behind this wall clearly exceeds the actual space it appears from the outside.
"Follow-"
Professor McGonagall said softly, taking the lead to step in.
"Also, don't forget your little piece of paper."
"oh oh--"
Dalia turned around, picked up the "little piece of paper" behind her, and followed in before the wall closed.
At Hagrid's suggestion, Dahlia attached a small piece of parchment cut into a triangle on the back of her little Thestral.
In this way, even if she can't see her pet, she can always know where it is and what direction its head and tail are facing.
As she and Professor McGonagall stepped onto the stairs, there was a roar behind them and the wall closed again.
Those spiral stone steps slowly rotated upward, like an escalator. They rose higher and higher as the stairs finally came to a gleaming oak door, with a yellow griffon-shaped inlaid on the door panel. Bronze door knocker.Dalia breathed a sigh of relief - the headmaster's office of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry arrived.
…………
When they reached the top, they took the stone stairs.
Professor McGonagall knocked on the door, and the oak door opened silently.
But the strange thing is that there is no one inside.
Professor McGonagall asked Dalia to wait, and then left, leaving Dalia alone in the room.
Dalia looked around. One thing is certain: no matter it is the original novel, movie, or even game, such a scene will never appear.
Dumbledore's office was really weird. If Dalia hadn't seen too many weird things these days, she felt that she would have thought that Professor McGonagall had accidentally led her the wrong way and had not led her accurately. He was led to the Hogwarts principal's office, but accidentally strayed into the Hogwarts kitchen.
This is a spacious, neat circular open kitchen, surrounded by all kinds of tiny, strange little sounds.
On the long European-style cooking table, there are many pots and pans of different shapes. The flames below have different powers, and small streams of water mist are sprayed out from time to time.
The walls are covered with portraits of the former headmasters and headmasters, who are snoring gently in their respective frames.
There hasn't been much change. The only difference may be that all the picture frames are enclosed in sealed glass - maybe not glass.
Because Dalia saw that when the water vapor adhered to it, a fuzzy black shadow would suddenly flash across the surface of the "glass", as if someone's tongue was licking it quickly.
There is also a huge table in the room with claw-shaped legs. Not surprisingly, it should be Dumbledore's desk.
On the shelf behind the table was the crumpled Sorting Hat.
Further back, there are two rows of circular bookshelves, extending from the first floor to the second floor.
woohoo-
At this moment, a strange whining sound suddenly came from Dalia's side.
The little Yeqi seemed to have discovered something, and was biting the hem of her clothes, trying hard to get her to turn around.
Phoenix!
Dumbledore's phoenix!
Dalia turned around and saw the target of Xiao Yeqi's warning at a glance.
On a tall gilded perch at the door stood a golden-red phoenix, covered in amazing red and gold feathers.
She was as big as an adult crane, with shining golden tail feathers hanging from the perch. She was tilting her head and looking at Dalia curiously with her big eyes.
woo-woo-
Dalia felt a breeze blowing gently, and there was a sound like a fire dragon spreading its wings in front of her.
Little Yeqi spread its wings, stared at Phoenix as if facing a formidable enemy, and started "roaring" with a sweet voice and whimpering.
"Calm down, calm down...she won't hurt you..."
Dalia knelt down and followed Hagrid's instructions, gently stroking her back and forth along Little Yeqi's back.
Although she didn't know why Xiao Yeqi was so hostile, Dalia knew that if they really fought, they would not be Phoenix's opponent if they were tied together.
wow-
Phoenix tilted his head and thought for a few seconds, then suddenly shook his body and spread his wings.
The soft warm wind surged out, accompanied by a little bit of heat, but it felt refreshing and comfortable when it fell on Dalia's face.
Woohoo - Woohoo!
Xiao Yeqi's whole body shook violently, and while "roaring", he desperately retreated towards Dalia's arms.
"Okay, Fox—don't scare the kids."
At this time, the office door opened and Dumbledore walked in.
After all, in the original plot, the old man usually only shows up at critical moments and makes some afterthoughts.
