Mysterious Walker at Hogwarts

Chapter 3 Snape’s Visit

The next day, Dean was not in a very high mood. Even though he was supposed to be the protagonist today, he was quite forced to smile. On the contrary, several younger siblings were having a great time at the amusement park.

When they returned home in the evening, Dean was almost desperate. He had not yet thought of a reason to convince his family.

According to the notice, he must reply before 24:[-] to confirm that he will attend Hogwarts. Dean guessed that if he did not reply within the time limit, he might lose this opportunity forever.

As soon as Mrs. Thomas opened the door, a letter in the same envelope as the morning fell in front of Dean.

It was obvious that this letter had been delivered a long time ago, and Dean's family's travel allowed him to avoid this letter perfectly.

After Dean picked up the letter, he immediately rushed back to his room. He couldn't wait to open the letter and saw it read: "I will visit Professor McGonagall before 18 o'clock sharp."

Minerva McGonagall? The Vice Principal of Hogwarts School and the Head of Gryffindor House actually want to visit in person?

Dean suddenly felt flattered.

Dean glanced at the alarm clock beside the bed and found that the time had reached 17:59.

"Oops!" Dean said secretly and rushed towards the door.

Dean did not dare to let the unprepared Thomas couple face Professor McGonagall directly. Although Professor McGonagall was a good person, she was also known for being strict. Dean was not sure whether she could get along well with a Muggle couple.

It turned out that Dean's worries were not unfounded.

When he rushed to the door out of breath, the doorbell rang at 18:[-] on time.

Dean took a few deep breaths and tried to look calm - an attempt that was obviously unsuccessful.

After Dean opened the door, he found that the person standing outside was not Professor McGonagall, but a middle-aged man wearing a black cloak, with greasy black hair, a hooked nose, and sallow skin.

Dean was so nervous that he couldn't breathe. He recognized at a glance that the person in front of him was Severus Snape, the dean of Slytherin House!

There must be a mistake somewhere!Didn't we agree that Professor McGonagall would be visiting? Why was it Snape?

Anyone who has read the original work knows that no matter how strict Professor McGonagall is, she is still a hundred times easier to get along with than Snape!

Dean unconsciously ran through the parts about Snape in the original book in his mind, hoping to find a way to "get along" with Snape.

Unfortunately, he got nothing.

Dean swallowed. Under Snape's sharp eyes, he felt as if he was being seen through.

At this moment, the system prompts in front of Dean's eyes jumped wildly: "It has been detected that the host is attacked by 'Legilimency', and this skill has been activated."

Dean was shocked, could this be the way to activate magic skills?Just hit the corresponding magic skill?

Doesn't that mean that if he wants to activate the three unforgivable spells that are not taught at Hogwarts, he must experience them one by one?

Dean suddenly felt bad. He didn't think he could survive Avada's Kedavra like Harry Potter, the destined child.

It really takes beatings to become stronger!

What makes Dean even more panicked is that just now he was recalling Snape's legendary life. Now that Snape has read it, does it count as a spoiler in advance?

After knowing his final fate, will Snape make the same choice as in the original book?

This... won't change the history of the entire magical world, right?

After realizing that he seemed to have accidentally caused a big disaster, Dean quickly stopped thinking and tried to clear his mind. Unfortunately, for a wizard apprentice who had never been exposed to Occlumency, this was simply impossible.

At the same time, Snape, opposite Dean, also felt a little depressed.

Under normal circumstances, Snape would be brewing the potion at his home in Spider End.

Unfortunately, he had just prepared a bottle of energy potion, and before he had time to check the quality of the finished product, his interest was spoiled by an owl that suddenly appeared.

Professor Minerva McGonagall, who was originally planning to visit Thomas's family, was distracted by another more important matter, so she asked Snape to do it for her.

You can imagine the reluctance and anger in Snape's heart at that time, as if the delicious food was already placed in front of him, but someone knocked the table over.

If it weren't for the fact that Professor McGonagall was also the Vice-Principal of Hogwarts, Snape would definitely find a way to refuse this request.

Snape endured the discomfort in his heart, forced himself to come to Thomas's door, and rang the doorbell very reluctantly.

The person who opened the door was a tall, thin boy with yellow skin - according to Professor McGonagall's letter, this boy should be the Dean Thomas who was in trouble.

When Snape's eyes fell on the boy's young face, he couldn't help but be slightly startled, and his usually calm heart suddenly became irritable.

Snape accidentally used Legilimency on Dean.

This almost never happened to Snape, who always prided himself on being calm.

The moment he used Legilimency on Dean, Snape regretted it, but he was soon attracted by what he read from Dean's mind - it was a long and incomprehensible foreign country. The words, if he was not mistaken, those words seemed to belong to the far east?

If Dean knew the doubts in Snape's heart at this time, he would laugh like a pig. It turns out that his previous worries were all unnecessary.

The Harry Potter that Dean saw in his previous life were all Chinese translations, so what he recalled just now was presented in Chinese characters. Obviously Snape did not know even a single Chinese character.

Dean was full of resentment towards Snape at this time. He was indeed the most unpopular professor in the original book, and he actually used Legilimency on a student who had not yet entered school!

Noticing the fearful and resentful look in Dean's eyes, Snape smiled mockingly and couldn't help but defend his impulse: "It seems that you have an unusual talent for language and writing."

Dean was a little confused after hearing this, and for a moment he couldn't figure out what Snape meant.

Snape did not expect a wizard apprentice who had not yet formally entered school to understand his hint. He looked directly at Dean and confirmed: "Dean Thomas?"

"Exactly... who are you?" Dean asked stammering.

At this moment, he still hadn't figured out why Snape was still so calm after seeing the spoiler, but since the other party didn't take the initiative to mention what happened just now, he was happy to pretend to be confused.

"I was entrusted by Professor McGonagall to come here to help you solve some... little trouble with your admission." Snape said with a deliberately straight face and curled lips.

"Well, I hope you can explain everything about Hogwarts school and the wizarding world to my parents, and convince them to allow me to go to school there." Dean said quickly.

He didn't want to spend another second with Snape.

"Dean, who's here?" At this moment, seeing that Dean had gone to open the door and there was no movement for a long time, Thomas and his wife appeared behind him.

Snape looked past Dean and towards the Thomas couple.

Dean could clearly feel that Snape stayed longer on Mrs. Thomas.

Just when he was wondering about this, he was shocked to find that Snape raised his wand towards Thomas and his wife.
