Mysterious Walker at Hogwarts

Chapter 164 Suspicion of Aphansia

"You actually recovered?" Madam Pomfrey said incredulously after a series of examinations: "Generally speaking, patients with apathy require long-term treatment before they can be relieved, let alone cured."

"It means that the medicine you gave me last night was very symptomatic and effective!" Dean said with a smile.

He didn't suffer from apathy at all, and Madam Pomfrey certainly couldn't find anything wrong with him.

"It seems that the potion I worked hard for you all night is no longer needed." Snape coldly took out a bottle of potion that seemed to be boiling, slowly let go, and let it fall from his hand.

"The potion is coming!" Dean shouted quickly.

The potion bottle flew into his hand with a whoosh.

"Professor, my problem may happen again, so I'd better keep this bottle of special medicine." Dean said calmly.

The corners of Snape's mouth curled up imperceptibly: "It's up to you, this bottle of potion has nothing to do with me from now on. Poppy——"

Snape turned to Madam Pomfrey: "Mr. Thomas has recovered. If you have no objection, I will take him away. He still has half of his confinement left!"

"Severus, what do you think about confining a student who has just recovered from health?" Madam Pomfrey said angrily, "This is very detrimental to his health!"

"Thank you, I think I know what is best for my students." Snape said calmly.

"I think I need to speak to Headmaster Dumbledore about this," Madam Pomfrey threatened.

Snape curled his lips and said, "Whatever you want. Thomas, follow me!"

With that said, he turned and walked out of the ward.

Dean shrugged helplessly at Madam Pomfrey and whispered, "Don't worry, I'm used to it."

"What are you still doing here? Do you want to deduct points from your college?" Snape's angry voice came from outside the door.

Dean hurriedly chased after him and found that the figures scattered like birds and beasts were Rolf, Audio-Technica and his roommates.

As they ran, they looked back, casting sympathetic and helpless looks at Dean.

"Follow me, Dean. I think we need to talk." Snape said softly.

"Are you finally willing to talk to me about my biological father?" Dean asked in surprise.

After Ron's bond was continuously upgraded, the effect was really awesome.

"It's you I want to talk about!" Snape said angrily.

After seeing the disappointment on Dean's face, his tone softened a little unknowingly: "...of course, some of them will involve your biological father."

Dean was content, he didn't expect Snape to tell him everything now.

After Snape took Dean back to the office, he was pacing back and forth anxiously, which was not at all like his usual style.

"Professor, may I ask, you look a little anxious?" Dean asked uneasily.

Snape even forgot to close the door, which was so rare.

"Dean, why didn't you notify me immediately after you fainted again?" Snape asked irritably.

"I don't think it's a big deal. In fact, if Seamus and the others hadn't made such a fuss and insisted on sending me to the school hospital, Madam Pomfrey wouldn't have known about it." Dean didn't understand why Snape So confused about this.

"It's not a big deal?" Snape raised his voice, "Do you know, do you know..."

His voice suddenly became deeper.

"Know what?" Dean raised his eyebrows.

"Your father...Brian Xiao...also suffers from Aphansia..." Snape said with great difficulty.

Dean looked at Snape blankly. Was Snape worried that he would inherit this disease from his biological father?

"You are right, your biological father and I are old acquaintances, and we have a pretty good relationship." Snape said while looking at the flames dancing in the fireplace.

Dean couldn't help but grin. For someone as arrogant as Snape to say something like "the relationship is not bad" meant that his biological father's status in Snape's heart was really high.

"In the beginning, he only got sick occasionally, once or twice a year. Each time he fainted, the duration was very short, and the interval was long." Snape said quietly, "After about two or three years, the frequency of his attacks increased. It started to happen more and more often, almost every few weeks, and each blackout lasted longer and longer.”

"Sorry, Professor. I've never heard my mother mention this. Logically speaking, she should know very well." Dean couldn't help but interjected.

"That's just because she thinks she knows Brian." Snape said a little irritably, "No one in this world knows him better than me, no one!"

"But that doesn't mean..."

"Dean, you just used poor Legilimency to read some memory fragments from your mother, and they were modified!" Snape interrupted rudely, "If her memory was normal, she would definitely tell you, Brian was often away from home - in Muggle parlance, 'on a business trip'? That's right, that's the word. It gave her the illusion that she was very busy at work. In fact, every time Brian was on a 'business trip', it was because of his mistake. When the psychosis occurred, I was taking care of him during those times."

"Then he left us in the end because he had an attack of aphansia...and would never wake up again?" Dean boldly guessed.

"That's another thing. I'm not ready to tell you yet." Snape shook his head, "About your biological father, there's only so much I can tell you today!"

"Another thing? Does it mean that my biological father didn't leave us because of Aphansia?" Dean thought thoughtfully.

"Dean, maybe I should teach you for your father, don't speculate on unknown things when the conditions are insufficient." Snape said coldly.

When Dean heard this tone, he knew that Professor Tsundere was unhappy, so he wisely chose to shut up.

"Dean, your current situation is very similar to that of your father." Seeing that Dean did not talk back, Snape softened his tone and said softly.

Dean smiled bitterly in his heart: Professor, you are wrong. I really don't have apathy. Those two times were just accidents.

It's a pity that he can't talk about his pain now. Unless he is willing to confess to Snape about pretending to be a Mysterious Walker, there is no explanation at all.

Dean could imagine that if Snape knew about this, he would face a storm of questioning - Snape would never tolerate him doing such a dangerous thing.

"So I ask you to come and see me alone once a week. I will personally check you and prescribe the right medicine to prevent you from making the same mistake as Brian did." Snape said seriously.

"Professor, are you too worried? I've only fainted twice accidentally." Dean tried to defend.

"I think it's not too much to be careful!" Snape suddenly raised his voice, making Dean tremble. "You are so much like your father. You are arrogant and don't take your body seriously at all. !”

"Did he also say that before?" Dean asked.

This seemed to be the only explanation for Snape's violent reaction.

"If he had listened to my advice, he wouldn't have... wouldn't have..."

"What will happen?"

"This is not something you should know now!" Snape replied stiffly.
