Science students at Hogwarts

Chapter 18 Neville Longbottom

"So, the Crabbe family is also involved this time?" Draco sat casually on the table in George's office, "I didn't expect that idiot to have ambitions."

The cold night wind howled miserably, and it knocked on the window angrily, trying to break into the house.

Elios stepped forward and carefully checked the window, but unexpectedly he touched a hand of dust.

"Why is no one cleaning this place? I will suggest to Filch tomorrow that we pick a few students who have been punished and clean this place." Elios frowned and cast a cleaning spell.

"Fights and fights in the school are becoming more and more common. Thanks to them, the professors always have enough manpower and the castle looks brand new. I really hope Dumbledore never comes back."

Draco was obviously very satisfied with this status quo of hiding in George's office and lazing around.

Elios nodded. Although the two of them were called solitary, it was no different from the previous days when they were on vacation.

As the culprit who provoked the Slytherin fight, the professor dealt with the other students severely but let them go.

On the surface, he scolded them severely and made others look at them with sympathy as if they were watching their teammates die heroically. In fact, the two of them were not punished at all and just stayed in George's office to study.

Elios thought about it and somewhat understood what the professor was thinking.

The professor did not encourage them to duel with others like fools, unless they won; he preferred them to achieve their goals in the Slytherin way.

Reminiscing that the day after Malen injured Draco, he had to drink a bunch of bitter antidote because of a rash all over his body, Elios smiled slightly.

Professor Snape was not a qualified teacher, but he really cared about them, except for being a little strict on their academic requirements.

Thinking of potions, Elios could not help but think of the Crabbe family. He pretended to be mysterious and asked Draco if he knew why Crabbe betrayed the Malfoy family.

"Profits," Draco said without hesitation, but he couldn't figure out what the Malfoy family had done to harm Crabbe's interests.

He asked tentatively, "Can they get more from the Nordic side?"

"That's not true. The Crabbe family's betrayal has something to do with both of us."

Draco became more interested and asked eagerly.

"Crabbe has been running the potion business for generations, but since that man's downfall, the Slughorn family has eroded most of the British potion market, and Crabbe had no choice but to join us." Elios spoke slowly. That past event.

"Well, Dad told me that he was hesitant to accept them at the time. Crabbe's reputation was not very good. They often sold some inferior potions..."

Draco suddenly reacted and his eyes widened. "No wonder, the photometer can distinguish the authenticity of potions, which seriously harms their interests!"

Draco thought about it carefully, and he was a little confused, "But dad also knows Crabbe's situation. He signed an agreement with Crabbe and gave them part of the right to sell the photometer."

"Obviously Crabbe doesn't think this will make up for their losses."

"The loss will only be temporary. We are not in the potion business. They can make friends with a potion master through us. The continuous supply of high-quality potions is enough for Crabbe to move up to a higher level, let alone return it. Backed by the latest technology.”

Draco was obviously very puzzled, and he fiddled with the ornaments on the table unconsciously.

"Draco, you have to know that some people can't see the long term, they only care about temporary benefits." Elios said slowly, "Crabbe is like this, they are stupid and bad, we must take precautions. "

"Dad didn't come to see us this time because he went to Northern Europe? A large number of Nordic herbal medicines flooded into the market, causing the price of potions to drop. The potions they shipped at high prices were all thrown into their hands, and they were found to be of inferior quality..."

Draco noticed that his younger brother's expression was serious and he didn't continue speaking, so he also became serious.

"It was Flint and I who made the deal. I guess my uncle has more important things to do."

Elios pushed him a newspaper. It was the "Daily Prophet" that reported the news of the casualties in the fight between the dark wizards in Knockturn Alley.

Draco's heart trembled, and he had a terrible suspicion. He gestured three to Elios, and Elios nodded invisibly.

"Draco, this is none of our business, trust them." Elios shouted in a low voice, but his words were not convincing, and both of them looked quite irritated.

After a long silence, Draco seemed to remember something. He opened George's roster and looked at everyone's names carefully.

"Neville Longbottom," he muttered, "Neville and we have a good relationship, but Mrs. Longbottom is cunning. She claims that it is just a friendship between children."

Elios held his shoulders, as if that would stop him from shaking.

"It's not that bad," he said. "We are happy to help our allies, such as Neville and his parents, solve their problems."

Draco didn't know Longbottom's past history. After listening to Elios's story, he hated the numerous crimes that man had committed even more.

"But we don't know anything about the Oblivion Curse and the Cruciatus Curse." Draco hesitated.

"Then we need our good helper - Durmstrang. Do you remember the measures they took to protect the school address? Lockhart must know this." Elios's words showed satisfaction.

"However, we can't do it alone. I think it would be helpful to allow our club to participate in collective activities, which will help improve cohesion. Moreover, we may also need Harry's help."

"Then let's go to the Room of Requirement to find them now?"

"Draco, did you forget that we are still in confinement?"

For the rare occasion that Hermione was not in the Room of Requirement, she headed to the Great Hall for dinner, a decision she soon regretted.

Harry and Ron categorically criticized Snape because they didn't like each other. One said he was targeting me, and the other said he was deducting points from me.

The two reached an agreement and decided to give Snape some color. Since Hogwarts had so many fights and fights, they didn't deal with them. They gave Snape a fun spell and just put him in confinement.

Hermione was dumbfounded by this act of coquettishness.

At first, Hermione tried to reason with them, but the two of them refused to listen at all. They were just talking about it. The more people objected, the more they objected, and they wanted to give Snape a fun charm on the spot.

"He is not targeting you, he is just strict in his requirements. He deducted points for each house. Didn't you see that Elios and Draco stay in the potions office and come back late every day?"

Ron became even more angry when he heard Elios' name, and mocked her as a nosy nerd. Harry felt that it was too much to say such a thing to a girl, so he tugged on Ron's sleeve to stop him.

"Please, before you do anything, use your poor brains and think about why Gryffindor is at the bottom and who deducted forty points!"

Hermione was too lazy to talk nonsense with them, and she didn't quite believe that these two people could really do such a mindless thing. She speeded up her meal and prepared to leave.

"Good evening, Hermione, Justin and the others are waiting for you there. I have something to tell you."

Hermione raised her head in surprise, "Elrios! Draco! Your confinement is over."

Draco originally thought that the days in George's office were very leisurely, but now he had important things to do and he couldn't wait to end the confinement immediately.

"No," he said dejectedly, "I will report to Professor Snape later."

Ron made a gloating sneer, but Harry sympathized with them. At this moment, the Elios brothers had become his comrades-in-arms.

Hermione had finished eating. She hurriedly pushed the plate away and motioned to go to the Room of Requirement.

Elios actually thought about it for a long time, whether to explain Neville's situation or to ask everyone to help find information about the Oblivion Curse.

Although the Longbottom couple's affairs were not a secret in the wizarding world, revealing such information casually would undoubtedly stab Neville's heart.

After arriving at the Room of Requirement, Elios sent Neville away, only mentioning that he found from family records that Neville's memory was poor, possibly due to the influence of the Forgetting Curse.

After Elios finished speaking, everyone expressed their willingness to help Neville, and the little wizards solemnly took over the task.

In order to prevent Neville from discovering their actions, Elios also asked Harry for help in letting Neville stay in the common room, and the savior enthusiastically agreed without hesitation.

Things are going pretty well.

In "Important Magical Events of the Twentieth Century", Hermione found a precedent for Muggles still recalling events after being struck by the Oblivion Curse.

Goldstein went to his distant relative Newt and asked for some of the venom of the Winged Demon.

Justin thought that Veritaserum might be able to help him remember, and he got some scopolamine from the Muggle community. Elios had to regretfully tell him that Veritaserum could not break false memories.

Elios and the others went to Lockhart's office with these materials.

When Lockhart heard their questions, he was frightened and thought that he had been exposed. Fortunately, Elios calmly dispelled his doubts and complimented him a few more times.

Lockhart happily shared all his experiences about the Oblivion Curse, and by the way told them Durmstrang's relevant records, and even a counter-spell, but it only worked on Muggles.

This made Elios have to sigh, Durmstrang is really his best friend.

Later, they asked Professor Flitwick.

Professor Flitwick was very interested in this. After carefully studying all the theoretical results and conducting many experiments, he improved the curse.

Improving magic spells is a major event that has caused a sensation in the magic world! If it is verified in Neville, then everyone will definitely leave their name in the history of magic.

Now everything is ready, only the east wind is owed.

After obtaining the consent of Mrs. Longbottom and Dumbledore, on a sunny afternoon, everyone watched Professor Flitwick and Neville with bated breath outside a room.

Neville was obviously a little scared, but when he looked at the encouraging eyes of his grandmother and friends outside the window, he seemed to have gained a lot of courage out of thin air.

He shouted to Professor Flitwick, "I'm ready!"

There was a flash of white light, and everyone crowded into the room. They rushed to ask Neville how he felt.

Neville looked at his friends and then at himself. He remembered many things that he couldn't remember before. His mind had never been so clear.

He smiled and nodded to everyone, telling everyone that he had never felt better. In order to make everyone believe in him, he also cited a few small things as evidence.

Everyone cheered deafeningly, and they rushed forward and threw Professor Flitwick and Neville into the air.

Mrs. Longbottom wiped her tears and watched all this. After a long time, she walked up to Elios and firmly announced that the Longbottom family would always be allies of the Black family and the Malfoy family.

Draco was so regretful that he poked Elios and whispered, "Elrios, we did it, didn't we?"

Elios looked at him gently and whispered, "Draco, this is just the beginning."
