Science students at Hogwarts

Chapter 10 Quidditch

The heavy rain came quietly at dinner time on Friday.

Elios naturally dropped his running plan and promised his supervisor, Draco, that he would get up and run early the next morning.

On Saturday morning, Elios opened his eyes with difficulty. He glanced at Draco who was sitting on the bed reading a book, with a hint of luck in his heart, "The rain must have stopped, right?"

Draco didn't even raise his head, and had long since stopped answering casually.Elios pulled the quilt over his head and let out a painful wail.

Slytherin's dormitory is very suitable for sleeping. Outside the window is the deep lake, with fish passing by from time to time. The soft white noise makes people fall asleep quickly.

Elios, who had a chaotic schedule, found himself in this kind of environment. He wished he could sleep to death in the dormitory every day, so he asked Draco to supervise him and adjust his schedule.

Draco did his duty conscientiously, and with his help Elios gradually adjusted back and became a self-disciplined person again.

The schedule is easy to adjust, and it is not difficult for Elios to go to bed early and get up early. But exercise is very painful, especially running. Elios just wants to say: I am not good at running.

But thinking of the future chaos in the magical world, Elios still struggled to get up, and after washing, he went to exercise with Draco.

Passing by the common room, Elios noticed that the young Slytherins were gathered here today, with excitement in their voices, as if they were going to attend a big event.

"What's wrong?" Elios turned to ask Draco.

Draco also looked confused. He shook his head and said that he didn't know what happened.

"Don't you know yet? We were notified last night that the Quidditch rookie selection will be held this morning and the Quidditch school team selection will be held in the afternoon." Goyle approached them with a look of admiration on his face.

Unlike the original novel, Draco is not that obsessed with Quidditch. This is not because of Elios' influence, but simply because their time is too full.

It's like the students themselves don't want to take physical education classes? It is the teachers of each subject who notify the physical education teacher to ask for leave.

Flint walked over with his Quidditch team arrogantly, and the little snakes burst into cheers.

"Slytherin has been the Quidditch champion again. I guess this time the school team is all our players, or Senior Flint picked the players." Goyle's face turned red, and he waved his arms towards them with all his strength.

"It's hard to say." Pansy shook his head. "The prefect has stated time and again that school team selection must be based on strength. Slytherin's overall level is good, but he is not a top player."

Gore looked at her dissatisfied, "Nonsense, who else can represent the school team if not us?"

Pansy glanced at him contemptuously, obviously too lazy to argue with him. She noticed that Elios was about to leave, "Aren't you going to watch Quidditch? Today's selection must be exciting."

Draco really wanted to go see it, but Elios asked him to think about the homework assigned to them by Professor Snape, which made him successfully give up the idea.

The two rejected Pansy and went to the auditorium for dinner after the exercise as planned. Unexpectedly, an accident disrupted their plans.

Elios struggled bitterly with the oatmeal. He sighed, missing the tofu pudding and fried dough sticks.

Draco's voice interrupted his thoughts. He looked up and saw that it was George walking towards the Slytherin table.

George dressed up specially today, making his uniquely handsome face of the Black family more dazzling, which attracted many little witches to look at Slytherin frequently. Elios asked in a low voice if he was going on a date with Louisa.

George patted him lightly and admitted with a smile, before Boo told them a piece of news.

"The school plans to let me lead the team to Durmstrang."

"How could it be you? I thought it was Professor Babulin of Ancient Runes?" Elios was a little surprised, and Draco nodded, his eyes full of doubts.

"Maybe it's because I graduated from Durmstrang." George spread his hands.

"Does Professor Snape agree? If you leave, our workload will be greatly increased. The professor will have to teach younger students. He hates this the most." Draco asked while spreading jam on the bread.

No, he would teach the lower grades just to see those eyes, Elios thought to himself.

"Professor Snape has thoughts of leaving Hogwarts."

"What?!" The two brothers couldn't hide their surprise and inevitably raised their voices. For a moment, everyone around them looked at them.

Elios realized his gaffe, smiled apologetically at the others, and immediately asked George in a low voice, "Why is the professor ready to resign?"

"I have this plan, but not now." George said slowly, "You know, we have learned a lot of new things in Cambridge recently, and Muggle chemistry has actually developed to this level! Relatively speaking..."

He considered his words, "The development of Potions is somewhat stagnant, and the professor plans to devote all his efforts to researching Potions. As the team leader, I will teach Potions in Durmstrang, and I will be qualified to take over the senior class after I come back." "

Draco understood their plan, "Professor Snape will leave Hogwarts after you prove that you can teach the upper years."

"you can say it this way."

"George, there is no need for you to stay at Hogwarts." Elios put down his spoon and looked at him seriously.

"When I became a teaching assistant, I hoped to be close to Professor Snape. Now that we have become a team, it is not that important whether we can become a professor, not to mention that we need you for potion research."

"George, I'm sorry for not letting you take over more of the family property. Now you don't need to face him at Hogwarts..."

"Elrios, this is not your fault." George rubbed his head, "Believe me, you have done a good enough job. Besides, we are different from him. We will succeed even without the Black family."

He said with disdain and contempt, "Staying in Hogwarts is not that bad. He will see me sooner or later. Do you think he will think of the son who was removed from the list?"

Yes, you are almost exactly the same as little Phineas. Elios opened his mouth but did not speak.

"I won't stay in Hogwarts for too long. I will leave here as soon as Dumbledore finds the right person, and I also want to meet him." At the end of his words, his voice was almost inaudible.

"Okay, kids, today is the Quidditch tryout. I suggest you go and relax. After all, you won't have a chance soon." George winked his gray eyes mischievously.

"Oh, by the way, if there is no room on the Quidditch pitch, you can find Flint. I did him a small favor recently and he will be happy to take care of you."

Draco heard that he didn't have to study today, and he wanted to fly to the stadium immediately.

"At the same time, I have a task for you. Observe the members of the Quidditch school team. I will spend a year with them in Durmstrang. I hope they can worry less."

"Yes, sir, I promise to complete the mission!" Elios also blinked his gray eyes.

Newcomer selection has begun.

The Quidditch school team is currently the only known way to join exchange students, so everyone showed great enthusiasm, and many students who had never been interested in Quidditch, let alone signed up, came to the stadium of people.

The Quidditch pitch was crowded with people, and Elios finally found Pansy and the others, and soon the small group gathered together again.

The atmosphere on the field was very lively, and the little wizards cheered for their own colleges.

The atmosphere in the lounge was not so friendly. The four captains sat stiffly in the lounge, looking at each other. It was obvious that they had never faced such a situation.

"Flint, since the school has decided that you will select the team members, you must have thought of a way, right?" Wood couldn't help it at first.

"Yes, gentlemen, I have compiled a set of regulations. As long as you follow it, you can definitely select the best players. And I guarantee that the selection process will be absolutely fair and just..." Flint said calmly.

"Pretending!" Wood muttered in a low voice. He was fed up with Slytherin's behavior. It was clear that they were the ones with the most evil hands on the court, but they often acted like gentlemen.

"Mr. Wood, I know that Gryffindor has a big misunderstanding of us, but for the sake of Hogwarts, please unite. We don't want to lose to Durmstrang, right?"

The captain of Hufflepuff nodded and agreed with his statement. Roger Davis, the captain of Ravenclaw, chuckled and said nothing.

Wood was a little frustrated, so he simply shut up and listened to what Slytherin's rules were.

"I think the selection of players can be divided into three parts. The first is the captain's recommendation, the second is the points battle, and finally the final list is determined based on the running-in situation within the team." Flint wrote his plan on the blackboard.

"Take the seekers as an example. There are four seekers in total. First, they will be tested with a golf ball. Then there will be two duels. The top two will be chosen based on the points ranking. The final result will be determined based on the running-in situation."

Flint handed them another piece of parchment, on which was written in detail the selection plan for the batsman, keeper and chaser, the rules of the points competition and the subsequent training plan.

Davis took the plan and looked at him in surprise. He shrugged, "I thought you would just let the school team become Slytherin."

"Roger, I said I am here for Hogwarts. Not only me, but the entire Slytherin family has this idea. No matter what we are doing internally, we must not be embarrassed outside."

Flint was obviously more familiar with Davis. He patted Davis on the shoulder, "Of course, I do hope there are more Slytherin players."

Wood had read the plan at this time, and no matter how much he hated Slytherin, he had to agree that Flint's plan was comprehensive enough.

He quickly announced his name, "The level of Gryffindor's seeker is average, so I will not participate in the selection of seeker. I recommend Angelina Johnson as chaser..."

"Wood, let's take a look at the selection results this morning! Maybe there will be some good ideas!" Flint stopped him.

"Gentlemen, I hope that your recommendation list must be cautious and must not be mixed with personal feelings. If there are outstanding second-year players, I hope they can be included, because there is also a Quidditch game at Hogwarts."

He straightened his clothes and said, "This Quidditch game at Hogwarts will only be more difficult. We all know that an away victory is more exciting. Durmstrang will definitely send out the best players."

His eyes were firm and far-reaching, "Gentlemen, we must do our best for the glory of Hogwarts!"

The other three also whispered, "Glory to Hogwarts!"

The selection in the morning was not that exciting. Many people just followed the trend. They were not even good at flying, which made the first-year wizards feel disappointed.

However, some people performed very well, such as Ravenclaw's second-year student Qiu Zhang. She is undoubtedly an excellent seeker, and Ravenclaw's voice is rising.

The small group gathered congratulated Kevin and Padma one after another. Hermione even used a fun spell to make the two of them look good. Kevin fought back without hesitation, and Parvati also helped her sister.

Suddenly, fun spells were flying all over the sky. I don't know who attacked Elios. Elios, who had never been hit by a fun spell before, got a cute fire dragon costume, which made everyone laugh.

The selection in the afternoon was much more exciting. The teams from the four major colleges presented a wonderful visual feast to everyone.

Seeing the players passing by from time to time, the little wizards exclaimed in surprise.

Hermione had to squeeze Parvati's hand to make her heart beat slower, and she said loudly to Pansy, "This is so exciting!"

Pansy shouted back to her: "There will be more exciting things later!"

Sure enough, when Flint used a sloth roll to avoid the flying Bludgers, the atmosphere reached its climax, and Slytherin cheers were everywhere!Draco even shouted hoarse.

The game was over, and since it was a points system, Flint immediately announced the list.

Every time he pronounced a name, he would get huge cheers. Later, the whole school even repeated the name of that player!

The number of people on the list is far more than 14, and Flint announced that the two teams will accelerate training in the next four days, and the final roster of the school team will be announced on the last day.

Even after many years, many people clearly remember that afternoon, the blushing boy shouted, Glory to Hogwarts!
