Chapter 17 Interviewing a Lawyer

Pearson Spector is New York's most famous and distinguished law firm.

none of them.

Although the tree attracts the wind, it will always encounter sniping attacks from peers or insiders, but after a period of ups and downs, it will return to its peak.

Laika walked into the top floor office floor and found Louis standing at the door waiting.

"Oh, you're on time. If you say an hour, it means an hour."

"Of course, punctuality is the responsibility of a mature lawyer."

Actually...if it wasn't for Catherine, he could have been half an hour earlier.

"Well said, come, I'll take you to the conference room for the interview."

Louis led the way.

It was completely different from Laika's imagination. It was already ten o'clock in the evening, and the law office was still bustling with people, and not a single seat was empty.

"Have not been off work yet?"

"What kind of work are you doing? Lawyers are a high-paying and high-pressure industry. Even decent law firms have a 007 work system."

Louis patted Laika on the shoulder, "Two partners of our law firm, Jessica Pearson and Harvey Spector, are also here. They will interview you later."

Laika ate a lot: "Aren't those the first and second positions in the law firm? I am a small lawyer, so I don't need them, right?"

Lewis smiled bitterly: "Hey, it's my fault for this. When I came back, I boasted about your confrontation with Norman... and even said nice things about you."

this this this...

Laika's original expectation was that Louis would just go through the motions with him, sign a casual employment contract and go negotiate with Laura.

And now...

Jessica and Harvey have poisonous eyes. It's hard to say whether they can fool them.

But Laika didn't panic.

Again, the big deal is that if you fail the interview, it’s just a personal loss.

Besides, he has a trump card.

When approaching the conference room, Laika was surprised to find that there were many people pretending to be wandering around the door, obviously waiting for Laika.

They are all women, oh, there are also a few sissies in suits who can be classified as women.

The beautiful secretary named Donna and the beautiful assistant named Rachel are also among them.

After seeing Laika, every expression was hard to describe.

Laika narrowed her eyes: "What's going on..."

"Um...I just told Donna and Rachel that you are smart, humorous and handsome."

Laika looked at Donna licking the corner of her mouth and said in confusion: "Why do I think you praise me for my great skills but don't say many good things?"

"How is that possible? If Donna asked me how I knew, how would I answer?"

"...Right..."

Louis cleared his throat awkwardly, and the girls quickly dispersed, but they didn't go far.

"Hey...it's true. I specifically asked Donna not to tell anyone about it."

"Then you don't know much about office gossip."

"What are you afraid of? Let them witness how you impressed the head of our law firm and the ace killer."

Or...witness Laika's embarrassment at the most prominent law firm in New York.

Forget it, it doesn't matter.

Laika winked at the ladies and walked into the conference room gracefully.

Jessica Pierson, the helmsman, and Harvey Specter, the ace assassin in the legal profession, have already sat in the interviewer positions.

These two people are the soul of the law firm.

The number one, Jessica, is fierce and protective, and is deeply loved, while the number two, Harvey, can always use all kinds of incredible means to win the lawsuit.

The law firm Pearson Spector is named after these two men.

And Louis is the third in command of the company.

"Good evening, Mr. Scott."

"Good evening, both of you."

After shaking hands, everyone took their seats.

Harvey took the academic information handed over by Laika and began to examine it carefully.

He had hired a talented fake lawyer before and got into a lot of trouble for it, and he would never do the same thing again.

Jessica, on the other hand, was responsible for asking questions.

"I have roughly heard what Louis said about you. Before the formal interview, I would like to thank you for giving Louis a good idea to deal with Norman."

"Louis exaggerated." Laika shrugged, "I just said it casually. The specific method was Louis' idea."

Lewis immediately started talking: "Look, look, he is not only outstanding, but also humble..."

"you're right!"

Jessica interrupted Lewis and continued to Laika, "This alone does not mean that you are an outstanding lawyer."

"Well... I think this Mr. Scott is not as outstanding as Louis said, but more outstanding than Louis said."

Harvey looked at Laika's resume and praised him repeatedly.

"I just participated in the class action lawsuit in Raccoon City. You sued Umbrella Company to liquidate all its assets to compensate the deceased and survivors in Raccoon City."

Laika quickly gave in: "I want to emphasize that it is not my fault alone."

"Also, you actually have dealings with Stark Industries and participated in the bidding for the land of the new Stark Tower in New York.

"Well...it's true...but that's not my fault alone."

When she was going through the information on the road, Laika felt that Solomon was bragging a little too much...

But there was no time to change it.

"Hey, do you still have a relationship with Stark himself?"

Harvey took out a photo of Laika and Tony Stark posing shoulder to shoulder, "What's he like as a person?"

"Hmm...smart, romantic, humorous, flexible and principled."

Laika raised her eyebrows at Harvey, "If one day you stand face to face with him, you will feel like you are looking in the mirror."

"Ha, Jessica, I like this guy, he always reminds me of my brilliant paralegal."

Nonsense, your assistant lawyer also used a fake diploma to act as a lawyer, of course it's the same.

Harvey looked at his watch, "Okay, since Louis has already vouched for him, I think there is no need to waste time."

Yes, yes, this is best.

Laika was talking nonsense because he was afraid that these guys would ask him professional legal questions.

End early and get out early.

Jessica, who has vicious eyes, always feels that something is wrong.

Her hardened intuition told her that this boy was hiding something.

"Mr. Scott, I still have some legal questions to ask you. Please describe the main civil liabilities of an agent..."

MMP.

We still need to use our trump card.

"Sorry." Laika interrupted Jessica unceremoniously.

"Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to answering your questions, but if I don't end this interview as soon as possible and get down to business, I might not be able to see Laura."

Jessica looked at Laika in surprise: "What do you mean?"

Laika pointed to the high-end hotel opposite.

"It means that Laura Crawford is staying at the Hilton Hotel opposite, room number 2703, and will check out tomorrow."

Jessica became wary: "We used private detectives and couldn't find it, how could you know?"

"Your private detective couldn't find it because Laura Crawford checked in under a false identity like Angelina Chu or something."

Everyone looked serious, and even Louis became alert.

This guy, not long ago, said he wanted to find Laura together, but he had already found her in the time it took to get her resume.

Jessica then asked: "You didn't answer my question. How did you find out something that even private investigators didn't find out?"

"It's very simple. I spent more than half an hour with the beautiful front desks of all the high-end hotels in New York. I just asked them who checked into which hotel."

After such a long interview, this is the first truth Laika has said...

After saying that, he turned his head and winked at the girls outside the door with a proud look on his face.

Then, he clicked on his watch.

"Again, we can continue this interview, or rush to save the law firm."

Laura's whereabouts were Laika's trump card to interrupt the interview.

Jessica's face was ashen. She didn't believe Laika's statement, but she couldn't find any flaws.

"I believe him...and whether this information is true or false, we must verify it as soon as possible."

Lewis stood up suddenly, "This is the top priority of our law firm. I will take Laika to the Hilton Hotel now."

Laika must be brought with him, because Laika found this clue, and leaving him aside is against the rules of the legal profession.

"Okay, since time is tight, let's wrap up."

Jessica looked at Laika and made a final test.

"Please take 30 seconds to give me one more reason why Pearson Spector should hire you?"

30 seconds?

Humph.

3 seconds is enough.

Lycra placed her hands at shoulder level.

"The height of the world is here, and I like to stand here."

Laika raised her hands above her head.

The simple action immediately reminded Jessica of Harvey beside her.

Harvey, on the other hand, felt like he was looking in the mirror.

"Mr. Scott, welcome to Pearson Specter."
