Hogwarts School of the Dark Arts

Chapter 3, Diagon Alley

Some people are accustomed to asking others to help when doing things, while some people are used to doing things by themselves when they can do it themselves.

Xavier falls into the latter category.

So even though Xavier knew that he could ask Hogwarts to send a professor to help him get out of the orphanage, Xavier still chose to do it himself.

However, when faced with things that he cannot accomplish, Xavier will not do it alone, such as coming out of the orphanage to buy things.

"Mr. Lawrence, I need about an hour. You can go get a cup of coffee and come pick me up."

"Okay, have a good time, Mr. Owen."

"Ah."

After getting out of the car and closing the door, Lawrence didn't seem to have any intention of leaving. Instead, he picked up a newspaper and started reading it.

Lawrence is Xavier's agent, but he is not an exclusive agent. Xavier is just one of Lawrence's actors.

However, his company is not big, and there are only a few contracted actors. In addition, reliable and stable young actors are scarce, so the resources Xavier can get from Lawrence are pretty good. The two have been working together steadily for three years. .

"I finally found a reliable agent, but it's a pity that I have to part ways..."

Sighing, Xavier patted his face, tidied up his clothes, and walked to Kevin's candy store next to him.

This candy store is small and there are not many customers, but the store is quite neat, with all kinds of candies neatly arranged on two rows of shelves.

"Mr. Store Manager, where do we get to Diagon Alley from?" Xavier walked up to the counter and asked the white-haired old man who was reading the newspaper straight to the point.

"Oh? Are you a young wizard who is about to enter school? Where is your guardian?"

"He has gone to work beforehand, so I can shop independently. I have the money."

As he spoke, Xavier lifted up his small suitcase and shook it.

"Really?" The store manager smiled kindly: "But there are many shops in Diagon Alley, and it's easy to get lost... Do you want me to accompany you?"

"Thank you, but no need."

"Then come with me... maybe you can have some candy first, this is for you."

The store manager grabbed a handful of candies and put them in Xavier's hand, then stood up and opened the door to the inside. Xavier quickly followed with the candies in one hand and the suitcase in the other.

Behind the door seemed to be the place where the store manager lived, but the store manager did not stop, but continued walking inside and opened another door.

There are boxes and shelves inside this door, and it seems to be a warehouse.

Walking to a wall without shelves or boxes, the store manager took out a wand from his arms and tapped it a few times at different locations on the wall. The bricks on the wall immediately moved, revealing a bright passage behind it. .

Even though he was prepared in his heart, Xavier was still too excited to express in words.

"Welcome to... Diagon Alley."

Turning around, he gave a gentlemanly salute to Xavier. The store manager looked at Xavier, whose face was flushed with excitement, and smiled.

"Child, eat some sweets before you go in." The store manager patted Xavier on the shoulder and said.

"Huh? Oh... ok."

I hurriedly put a piece of candy into my mouth. After this interruption, I felt much better.

"Thank you, it's really much better... What should I do after I go in... open the door and come back? Or will this door not close?"

"Just come through."

"Pull through???"

The store manager smiled and nodded: "Yes, but...be careful not to hit the wrong wall, otherwise it will be very painful."

"Okay, I remember."

Xavier nodded, took a deep breath and walked through the door.

Turning his head and looking at the merging aisles and the store manager waving goodbye to him at the other end, Xavier tried to remember the environment around this wall to prevent him from bumping into the wrong place when he came back.

When the wall was completely restored, Xavier looked at it for a while before turning and looking forward.

This is an alley, very short, less than five meters. Directly opposite the alley entrance is Flourish Blossoms Bookstore.

"This passage should be specially used for young wizards from Muggle families, right?"

Xavier guessed as he walked towards the alley.

Looking back on the smoky environment of the Leaky Cauldron in my memory, if the parents of a Muggle family took the little wizard there, they would have to be very brave to trust their children to go alone to the distant Hogwarts, where the location is unknown. Studying at a magic school?

In comparison, the first impression of this candy store is much better.

As he approached the alley, the noise around him became louder and louder, and Xavier inevitably became a little nervous again.

Fortunately, it's much better than before.

After exiting the alley, Xavier pretended to be calm and looked around, and found that he could directly see Gringotts, not far to the right.

"Go and get money first, then buy things from one store to another in order, and then...leave as soon as possible."

Xavier tightened his grip on the suitcase and walked quickly towards Gringotts.

Although there is no danger in Diagon Alley in the memory, and the adult wizards are also very friendly to the young wizards, this is reality after all. If something happens, Xavier, who does not know a single magic, will definitely not be able to deal with it.

This completely out-of-control situation was the last thing Xavier wanted to encounter.

The Great Disintegration Technique does not count. If this trick is used on people using proper black magic, if it is used on people in Diagon Alley, then there is no need to go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You must go directly to Azka. Ben reports to the dementors.

Maybe it was because it was only July [-]th, so it was a bit early, and there weren't many little wizards coming to Diagon Alley to buy things. Xavier felt that everyone was looking at him along the way, and he didn't know if it was an illusion.

"You should be right. As someone who often works on film sets, I can't possibly be a sociophobe, right?"

Xavier cheered himself up while distracting himself with random thoughts, and soon arrived in front of Gringotts.

Gringotts exudes pride everywhere, even the goblins guarding the door wear gold and silver and scarlet and gold uniforms.

Xavier glanced at the goblin, and the goblin also glanced at Xavier, but seemed to have no intention of saying hello, so Xavier walked straight inside.

When Xavier walked past it, it bowed slightly.

Perfunctory snobbery!

This is Xavier's first impression of goblins.

After passing through the bronze door, there is another door not far ahead. The door is silver and has words engraved on it.

"Please come in, stranger, but you must be careful about what will happen if you are greedy. If you blindly ask for something without working, you will be punished the most severely.

So if you try to take from our underground vaults a treasure that was never yours, you thief, you have been warned, beware not of treasure but of evil. "

After reading the above text and thinking about the perfunctory attitude of the goblin towards him just now, Xavier suddenly felt a little unhappy.

scare me?

Believe it or not, I can dismantle your Gringotts with a powerful decomposition technique!

The kind that only covers disassembly but not rebuilding!
