Soaring at Hogwarts
Chapter 37 - Semester 2
During the rest of the holiday, Ian devoted himself wholeheartedly to his practice, and even ran in the Forbidden Forest less diligently.
Gilani noticed a change in Ian.
"What's going on? Ian?" He flicked the flame of the alchemy furnace, "The gold is about to be refined, aren't you happy?"
"It's okay." Ian put his hands next to the fire.
The golden-red flames twisted and danced, spreading warmth.
He said slowly: "I just feel that I need to practice well."
"Practice?" Gilani wondered, "Aren't we practicing?"
"Different practices, Jilani," Ian tried to explain the inner alchemy. "We use lead and mercury in alchemy. Do you think there are similar things in our bodies? In other words, different properties of magic can Can’t we use alchemical theory to explain them? Or even change them.”
"What a novel idea." Gilani touched his chin, "What will you create in the end? A magical 'Philosopher's Stone'?"
"Who knows?" Ian turned the conversation back to the stove and asked, "How long will it take for this to heal?"
"Soon, I'm sure you can do it before school starts."
The Mirror of Erised made Ian more involved in his current life, but Harry was different. He spent the whole day in front of the mirror and couldn't extricate himself.
Ian advised him not to take any more care - Dumbledore would take care of it.
Sure enough, Dumbledore showed up the next day.
He convinced Harry not to look for the Mirror of Erised, and Harry did so.But he didn't settle down: he began to have nightmares.
He dreamed over and over again that his parents disappeared in a sudden green light, and at the same time there was a loud voice laughing strangely.
There was nothing Ian could do about it.
"This is not all a dream, Harry." He said sympathetically, "It's just that I hope you can get out of this nightmare soon."
But how is that possible? This is the only memory Harry has of his parents. He will hold on to it.
At the end of the vacation, Ian got his wish and got a large sum of gold.He took a small piece for himself and donated the rest to Hogwarts in Haydn's name.
"So you are not short of money," Gilani said.
Ian was noncommittal: "What will we learn next?"
"How about refining silver?"
"good idea."
The holiday was over, and soon there was another Quidditch match, Gryffindor versus Hufflepuff.
This time, Ian didn't have time to bring them food.
The days are calm and uneventful, but they are full of various matters.
With experience, Ian quickly succeeded in refining silver under the guidance, and then began to try the use of different magic powers in alchemy.
At the same time, he followed Quirrell more closely.Stop by his office from time to time and ask questions.
As for the little unicorns, he drove them back to the unicorn herd and prevented them from running around.
It wasn't until the Quidditch match that Ian took some time out.
The atmosphere at the dinner table, whether it was Hufflepuff or Gryffindor, was tense.
Needless to say, Hufflepuff, the Gryffindor team is very strong and the matchup is very stressful.
Ernie was so uncomfortable that he couldn't eat.
"Ian, you really don't want to join our Quidditch team?" he asked frustratedly.
"We are only in the first grade..."
At this time, Gabriel ordered: "Okay, team members, let's go!"
The little badgers gave them a round of applause.
On the Gryffindor side, it was because the referee of this match was Snape.Maybe Dumbledore said something to him that made him volunteer to do this.
This game ended faster than last time.
Although Snape clearly favored Hufflepuff, Harry took down the Golden Snitch with surprising speed.
The Gryffindors were in high spirits - Ron and Neville had another fight with Malfoy and the others, and Malfoy's miserable appearance made Ron feel even better.
As for Hufflepuff, it's the complete opposite.
It was a disastrous failure.
"We need a good Seeker!"
In the lounge, Gabriel solemnly announced, his eyes scanning the lower classes.
"It's not that there's something wrong with Cedric, it's just that if someone can act as a seeker and free him up, our configuration will be more reasonable."
"I want someone who is smaller and familiar with brooms!" He said expectantly, "Does anyone volunteer?"
Ernie, Justin, Hannah, Susan and other little badgers looked at Ian eagerly.
After hesitating for a while, Ian finally raised his hand.
After all, he quite liked Hufflepuff.
"Gabri, is it okay if you're a first grader?"
"Of course!" Gabriel said without hesitation, "Harry can do it, there's no reason why we can't!"
In this way, the Seeker of the Hufflepuff team became Ian Heseltine, Cedric Diggory became the Chaser, and Gabriel Truman continued to serve as the Keeper.
Hufflepuff has good scorers and goalkeepers.
When he told Harry the news, Harry's first reaction was: "Then we will never have buns again?"
"I'm afraid so, I can't go to watch your training anymore." Ian said, "I probably won't play this semester. It's impossible to win the Quidditch Cup anyway. Gabri plans to use this time to get used to the new team. "
"Okay," Harry said with mixed emotions, "By the way, after the game yesterday, I saw Snape..."
He talked about eavesdropping on a conversation between Snape and Quirrell.
They thought Snape threatened Quirrell because he wanted to get the Philosopher's Stone.
"I don't think Professor Quirrell will survive next Tuesday," Ron said pessimistically.
"Indeed." Ian agreed rarely.
Harry asked: "Ian, didn't you already know about the Philosopher's Stone? Can you talk to Professor Dumbledore? Tell him about it?"
"Professor Dumbledore will not believe it," Ian said truthfully, "He absolutely trusts Professor Snape."
Ian continued: "So I suggest you keep an eye on Quirrell and see when he can't hold it anymore."
"Okay." They were a little disappointed, but still agreed.
Ian said that on purpose.
Harry and the others were still some distance away from the truth, but it was enough. They can protect the Philosopher's Stone at any time now - as long as "Snape" takes action and cannot find help.
Ian didn't want the unicorns to get hurt. It would be best if Voldemort could direct his attention to the Sorcerer's Stone instead of the unicorn blood.
If Voldemort takes action in advance, will Harry and the others step forward?
Now it looks like it will.
Then, there is only one question - Quirrell's question: How to pass the three-headed Lu Wei?
Ian looked far away in the direction of the Defense Against the Dark Arts office on the third floor. His eyes seemed to penetrate the wall and see Quirrell and the face on the back of his head.
Professor Quirrell, haven't you always been kind to me?
Then, let me repay you well.
Gilani noticed a change in Ian.
