Soaring at Hogwarts
Chapter 22 A stumbling adventure
"Would you like an adventure, Professor?"
"That sounds like Gryffindor," Dumbledore quickly came out of his mood and said humorously, "What should I prepare? A tent? White fresh essence?"
"A heart that cannot be deceived."
The two left the office and walked down the corridor on the eighth floor, with Fox following behind.
Standing in front of the huge tapestry of a troll beating Barnabas silly, Ian fell into deep thought.
How do I get into the Room of Requirement?
"...I encountered a little problem," Ian looked at Dumbledore, "I know there is a room behind here, but I forgot how to get in. Do you have any idea, Professor?"
"Well...even though I am the headmaster, I don't know Hogwarts any better than the two troublemakers from the Weasley family."
The older man still had some experience, so Dumbledore quickly thought of a plan, "But there is always someone who knows it, let's go and ask."
"Filius's office is also on the eighth floor," Professor Dumbledore led Ian to the west tower. "He might know."
However, Professor Flitwick didn't know either, but he was also very interested in the house that Ian mentioned.
"The castle is full of secrets. If you find one, can you tell me?"
"Of course!"
"There is another person." After leaving the Charms teacher's office, Dumbledore took Ian around a corner and walked to the north tower. "Professor Trelawney is very close to there. Let's ask her again.
She is a divination teacher. You will have her class in third grade. I hope she can teach you something real. "
"Okay," Ian was a little frustrated, "If that doesn't work, we can only catch Voldemort and torture him."
Dumbledore laughed twice.
They reached a small landing on the north tower, and Professor Dumbledore raised his hand - he was very tall - and knocked on the trapdoor at the top with his wand.
"Professor Trelawney, are you there?"
The trap door opened and a silver ladder was lowered.
Fox stayed below and watched the two climb up.
Ian saw Sybill Trelawney coming down the small stairs and smelled the smell of alcohol in the distance.
Trelawney was thin, like Ian.A pair of big glasses magnified her eyes several times in size. Perhaps because it was the weekend, she was not wearing a shawl and had taken off the beads and chains around her neck.
"Headmaster?" Trelawney burped. "Sorry, what's the matter? Who is this child?"
"Excuse me, Sybil," Dumbledore said politely, "This is Mr. Ian Heseltine, a first-year student. We are here to ask a question."
Trelawney's eyes widened, "Ian? This...are you Ian?"
"Yes, Professor."
Ian is a little helpless. It seems that his "prophecy" talent has been widely spread, and he doesn't want to do this from the bottom of his heart.
"Oh, oh, please sit down." Trelawney hurriedly summoned two armchairs and poured three cups of tea.
She herself sat erect in the easy-chair before the fire.
"Well, Sybil, do you know the room behind the Troll Tapestry on the eighth floor? We want to know how to get in."
"Wait a minute, let me take a look," Trelawney looked much more awake. She pretended to pick up a crystal ball, "Ah, yes, yes, I saw it with my third eye. There is indeed a house nearby. …”
She spoke slowly in a low, hoarse voice, then looked away from the crystal ball and glanced quickly at Ian.
After this she stopped, turned to lift the lid of the teapot, and said at the same time: "Let us seek help from the tea leaves... It always provides a lot of information on some specific issues."
The teapot was turned around in her hand a few times. Professor Dumbledore looked very attentive, silently waiting for the result, and Ian began to doubt whether this was of any use.
"I saw it... you have to think about that room and then walk across that wall three times... That's it, that's right." Trelawney nodded to the two of them, "That's it, that's what I saw Answer."
"Thank you very much, Sybil," Dumbledore stood up. "We have something else to do, so I won't interrupt. But Sybil, with the nice weather, I think you can go out for a walk more."
"Often going down to the chaotic and noisy campus life will make my third eye blurred, Principal."
"Okay," Dumbledore bowed slightly, "Then we won't disturb you."
When walking back to the portrait, Ian couldn't help but ask: "Professor, is this really okay?"
"We'll find out after we give it a try. However, from what I know about Sybil, she prefers to use vague words, if not certainty."
"Ok."
It's just a magic stick, Ian understands.
Arriving in front of the portrait, Ian thought about it and decided to use simple keywords as much as possible.
He thought about "a place to hide things" and walked back and forth in front of the wall three times.
Successful.
Only the door is not behind the tapestry, but on the opposite side.
"It seems I remembered something wrong again." Ian scratched his head, embarrassed.
"Prophecy is always difficult," Dumbledore comforted. "You see - I hate to say it - Professor Trelawney, don't you?"
Opening the door, Ian and Dumbledore held their wands in their hands, took a deep breath, and stepped in.
They were shocked by what they saw.
In a room the size of a cathedral, the light beams cast by the high windows reflected a city with high walls, made up of countless trivial, huge, and messy objects.
Ian saw a crumbling pile of broken furniture that he was pretty sure was at least a century old.
There was a pile of empty bottles of sherry near the door, and Ian seemed to understand something.
There are thousands of books here, no doubt banned, scrawled, or stolen; there are winged slingshots and fanged flying saucers, a few of which are still hovering feebly over the mountains of forbidden stuff; Some broken bottles contained solidified potions; there were also hats, jewelry, cloaks, and things that looked like fire dragon egg shells; a few plugged bottles were still shining with an evil light; and there were a few rusty handles. Sword and a bloody axe.
"The Magic House," Dumbledore lowered his hand holding the wand slightly, "Ian, is there anything you want to find in there? I hope the Flying Charm can be used here."
Looking for something in such a city is undoubtedly like looking for a needle in a haystack.
"Yes," Ian's scalp was numb and he regretted that he had spoken so mysteriously before. He said directly, "It's Ravenclaw's diadem, Professor. It may be carried by a statue."
"Ravenclaw's diadem!" Dumbledore exclaimed, sounding very happy, "What a surprise, Ian.
It has been missing for centuries, and Professor Flitwick will be delighted to hear the news. "
"Um, one more thing, Professor."
"Huh? Are there any surprises that I don't know about?" Professor Dumbledore asked patiently.
"It was made into a Horcrux by Voldemort. I'm not sure if it can still be used."
Dumbledore gasped.
"That sounds like Gryffindor," Dumbledore quickly came out of his mood and said humorously, "What should I prepare? A tent? White fresh essence?"
