Ancient Warlocks at Hogwarts
Chapter 3 Metamorphosis Lessons
The grand dinner finally ended, and the first-year Gryffindor students, led by their prefect Percy Weasley, walked through the noisy crowd, walked out of the auditorium, and climbed the marble-paved stairs.
The little wizards all seemed a little sleepy. They had just gone through the nerve-wracking sorting ceremony, and the tiring journey all day long was not good for the physical strength of these 11-year-olds.
Percy led them through twice hidden doors behind sliding panels and hanging curtains, and up many stairs.
No one knew how long they would continue walking. Even Hermione, who had been chanting "Hogwarts: A History of the School" in the crowd, had stopped and started yawning profusely.
On the way, he also met the mischievous Peeves. This dwarf looked just like a funny clown in the circus. Andre remembered that he had not appeared in the movie, so he took a few more glances out of curiosity.
Fortunately, under the leadership of Percy, Peeves did not dare to be too presumptuous. The only unlucky one was Neville, who was hit by Peeves' cane.
Passing through the Fat Lady's portrait, we finally entered the Gryffindor common room.
Percy guided the girls into the girls' dormitory, then led the boys through another door, at the top of a spiral staircase - they were obviously in a tower.
Following the name instructions written on the door, Andre walked into one of the rooms. Five four-poster beds with curtains filled the room.
Andre saw his suitcase placed next to one of the beds, and he lay down directly on it.
The other four people in the dormitory were Harry, Ron, Neville and Seamus Finnigan.Andre wasn't quite sure that he had squeezed out the little wizard to be assigned to the same dormitory as Harry, but that didn't matter anymore, he just wanted to sleep now.
Others obviously thought the same thing, except for Ron who muttered a few words to Harry behind the curtain, and soon the whole dormitory was filled with only the sound of even breathing.
The next morning, Andre was the first to wake up. He was still a little uncomfortable with the routine of Hogwarts.During the two months at the Leaky Cauldron, he had become accustomed to a life of reverse day and night.
Without waking up Harry and the others who were still sleeping, Andre went to the public bathroom to wash up alone and walked out of the Gryffindor lounge alone. He wanted to get familiar with Hogwarts first, where he would have to live for most of the next seven years.
But it was a pity that Andre overestimated his ability to recognize the way. He got up from six o'clock in the morning and still couldn't find the auditorium where yesterday's banquet was held until after eight o'clock.
There are a total of 140 stairs in Hogwarts, which is enough to illustrate the hugeness of this ancient castle. What makes Andre even more troublesome is that these stairs are of different sizes, and some even have one step missing in the middle. This requires him to keep his attention at all times to avoid the danger of missing the stairs.
According to what Hermione said last night, some of these damn stairs will move their huge and heavy bodies on Friday to lead to other places.
Luckily it was only Monday and Andre didn't have to deal with the awkwardness of moving halfway up the stairs.
"Hey, tall little devil, what are you looking for?"
"Wow, you're not so eager to do some pranks at Hogwarts!"
The Weasley twins sandwiched Andre, who was still looking for his way, on the left and right. The height of the two men was not much different from him.
"Actually, I wanted to try to find the way to the auditorium without myself, but obviously, it's too difficult." Andre breathed a sigh of relief, at least he didn't have to worry about not being able to eat breakfast.
Next, although the twins were making jokes about Andre all the way, they still brought him to the auditorium.
Most of the first years were already sitting at the long table and starting to enjoy their breakfast. Andre hurriedly got rid of George and Fred and sat across from Harry.
"Hi, hello, I remember your name is Andre, right?" Harry said hello to Andre in a friendly way.
Andre smiled last night and said: "Yes, I think my height impresses most people. You are Harry Potter, right?" He had been sitting on the edge of the long table last night and didn't say much. I got to know a few boys in the same dormitory.
So Harry nodded, pointed to the few little wizards around him and introduced: "He is Ron Weasley, this is Seamus Finnigan, and this is Neville Longbottom, we all It’s from the same dormitory.”
Seamus and Ron raised their heads buried in the food to signal Andre, and only Neville said hello slightly awkwardly.
"I know. I'm sorry that I got up too early in the morning, so I didn't wake you up." Andre took an egg from the dining table and explained his whereabouts in the morning.
While several people were talking, Percy came over and distributed the parchments in his hand to the first-year students one by one: "This is your class schedule for this school year. Remember not to be late, otherwise the professors will deduct points. .”
Andre looked at this class schedule. The first-grade courses were relatively easy. Classes started at nine o'clock every morning, lunch was at eleven o'clock, and one to three o'clock in the afternoon. There were even only two Potions classes in the morning on Friday, and there was no need for classes throughout the afternoon.Oh, and there is also astronomy class on Wednesday night from [-]pm to [-]am, which is quite a torturous course.
The first lesson today was Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration. Gryffindor and Hufflepuff took it together. After dinner, Andre and Harry found the classroom together.
Professor McGonagall did not turn into a cat and squat on the podium like in the movie. She stood seriously in front of the blackboard and watched the little wizards filing in one by one.
When the class bell came from the tower, Professor McGonagall glared seriously at the students who were still talking, and then the classroom quickly fell silent.
"Transfiguration is the most complicated and dangerous spell you have in your Hogwarts class," she said. "Anyone who tries to misbehave in my class, I ask him out and never let him in again. I But I warned you."
After speaking, Professor McGonagall waved her magic wand, turning the desk into a pig, and then back again.
The eyes of all the little wizards were firmly caught by this scene, except Hermione. The little witch had a smile on her rosy face and glanced in Andre's direction, obviously remembering the scene on the Hogwarts Express.
When Professor McGonagall saw a student taking out his wand and eager to try it, she quickly stopped him: "Mr. Finnigan, I don't think it's time for you to use the wand yet. Please put it away."
Seamus' face instantly turned red, and he put down the wand in his hand.
"Now, turn to the first page of your "Elementary Transfiguration Guide" textbook. We need to understand the basic principles of transfiguration first." Professor McGonagall said.
For the next 45 minutes, they were all learning the boring principles of transformation, but this at least made most of the first-year students understand that they still have a long way to go before they can complete the transformation that Professor McGonagall just performed. .
The 10-minute break passed quickly, and the little wizards who had just met ended the familiarization process with each other.Professor McGonagall re-entered the classroom. This class finally no longer required taking esoteric and complicated notes. She gave everyone a match and asked everyone to try to turn the match into a needle.
But most of the little wizards couldn't make the match even move, and only Andrei accomplished the task with ease.
Professor McGonagall's eyes lit up. This five-foot-six freshman impressed her yesterday. She quickly walked up to Andre, picked up the long silver needle on the desk, and showed a rare smile: "Well done, Mr. Ivanov, two points for Gryffindor."
"Professor, Andre showed me how to turn the table into a cat when we were on the train." Hermione suddenly interrupted at this time.
Professor McGonagall was obviously shocked by this news. It is undoubtedly very difficult to complete animal transformation, especially for an 11-year-old child. What's more, she knew clearly that Andre was not from a wizarding family, he was a child from Muggle society.
"Is this true? Mr. Ivanov?" Professor McGonagall looked at Andre expectantly and asked.
Andre scratched his head. He didn't want to hide his strength, but he also didn't want to show his strength far beyond everyone else in the first class. He didn't have Hermione's strong desire to show off.
Of course, there was no need to deny this. He nodded: "It's true, Professor McGonagall, but I practiced for a long time during the vacation."
"Then can you perform it once and show it to me?"
"Of course!" Andre aimed at a bench. Relatively speaking, the size of the object being transformed actually also affects the difficulty of the transformation.
With a gentle wave of the wand, the stool transformed into a black Labrador in perfect coordination.
This Labrador's eyes were very smart, and it looked around the classroom for a week under Andre's control.
Professor McGonagall took a breath of contentment. For many years, she had never found such a talented student in the Transfiguration class.
For the professors at Hogwarts, cultivating talents is always something that makes them physically and mentally happy.
Especially for a powerful witch like Professor McGonagall, who can find a suitable job no matter where she is, but is willing to stay at Hogwarts and teach for decades. No matter how you say it, you can definitely say that Professor McGonagall loves teaching. The love of educating people.
Being able to educate a student who is extremely talented in transfiguration is undoubtedly a very happy thing for Professor McGonagall, not to mention that Andre is from the Lion Academy.
"Excellent Transfiguration, five points from Gryffindor." Professor McGonagall signaled Andre to untransform. She said, "Mr. Ivanov, please come out with me, and the others will continue."
The little wizards all seemed a little sleepy. They had just gone through the nerve-wracking sorting ceremony, and the tiring journey all day long was not good for the physical strength of these 11-year-olds.
