A friendly day at Hogwarts

Chapter 44 Ritual from the Middle Ages

Morgana, who had just walked in, burst out laughing, her eyes curling into crescents.

Phineas Black noticed her then and looked at her with squinted eyes.

"Which family are you a little girl from?" he asked in an arrogant tone, "Why can't I see any characteristics of a pure-blood family in you? Are you a fool..."

"Phineas!" Dumbledore interrupted, with unquestionable determination in his tone.

Morgana shrugged, looking unconcerned.

"Actually, I'm also curious about which family I come from," she whispered. "I want to ask them why they want to abandon me."

In the portraits on the wall, several soft-hearted old principals showed slightly distressed expressions. Even Phineas Black curled his lips, closed his eyes and stopped talking.

Dumbledore waved his hand and conjured two soft armchairs.

"Sit down first, children, you want to eat some..."

He looked at the crystal clear jelly slugs on the silver tea tray, then put them aside quietly.

The two sat down as instructed, and Glenn said, "That's right, Professor. We have a few more questions to ask you."

Dumbledore smiled kindly and signaled that he was welcome.

"Rick taught her..." Glenn glanced at Morgana beside him, "When did she come to Hogwarts to apply for the professorship?"

"It seems that through communication with each other, you already understand almost everything."

Dumbledore's smile grew wider, and there was a hint of approval in his eyes.

"If I told you that Professor Rick applied to me as early as the end of last semester, wouldn't it be different from what you expected?"

Glenn and Morgana looked at each other and noticed the confusion and confusion in each other's eyes.

"Did you guess wrong..." Glenn rubbed his brows in distress and muttered to himself.

"In other words, whether Morgana is willing to help her find the book about rituals or not, she has a reason to come..."

Dumbledore nodded slightly: "That makes sense, Glenn."

"Then this reason should be something that Morgana alone cannot accomplish." Glenn followed this logic and continued to speculate.

"Could it be related to that ritual?" Morgana asked softly.

"Ritual?" Glenn suddenly realized, "Does this ritual have to be completed at Hogwarts?"

Dumbledore's blue eyes flashed with surprise, as if he didn't expect the two of them to guess this so quickly.

"It's not quite accurate, but it's pretty close."

"Is it just close..."

Glenn felt his headache getting worse, but he didn't expect that this secret was deeper than he thought.

"What else is so irreplaceable and special about Hogwarts..."

He carefully recalled all the behaviors of Patricia Rick since the beginning of school, removing the normal parts, leaving only the unusual and special things.

During my first Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson...

Glenn felt vaguely that he had discovered something.

"If this ceremony does not require a specific location..." He frowned, "Is it related to the students of Hogwarts?"

Dumbledore didn't answer, but looked at him with a smile, encouraging him to continue guessing with his eyes.

"I heard from Morgana that in the first Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Professor Rick seemed to have used a magic similar to psychological suggestion..." He said slowly, "I want to know what she did every day. Have you ever done this in a class?"

"It seems you have discovered the key to the problem, kid."

Dumbledore waved his hand gently, and a thick, ancient-looking book floated up from the bookshelf behind him.

"Medieval Chronicles"

The ancient book fell gently on the desk in front of Glenn, the cover was lifted, and it flipped to the middle.

Legendary female dark wizard: Morgane Le Fay

Glenn glanced at ten lines, skipping Morgana's life records and the legends related to Merlin and King Arthur.

Near the end of the page, he finally found what he needed.

"Legend has it that Morgana, a dark wizard who is good at soul magic, has found a way to achieve immortality."

Immortal... Glenn's pupils contracted slightly.Sure enough, eternal life is still the pursuit of most people.

He continued to look down.

"This is a ritual similar to a sacrifice, which requires gathering a certain number of believers to protect the soul leaving the body and entering another suitable body. Because the ritual is too secretive, no detailed introduction to the process can be found."

"Note: Since King Arthur was laid to rest in 563 AD, there have been no other legends about the dark wizard Morgana and Avalon Island. Therefore, it may be speculated that this ritual does not really exist."

Glenn looked away from the yellowed pages, looking a little solemn.

The record of the ceremony in the book is not detailed, only a few lines, but it connects all the clues and guesses.

The familiarity that the ruins of Avalon brought to Morgana, as well as the way Patricia Rick looked at her as if she were a treasure, all illustrate one point——

The 11-year-old girl in front of her is what is called "another suitable body."

This can explain why she fainted in the ruins and why she mastered the black magic defined by the character card as level one before entering school.

That was not her own ability, but something like a mark left by Morgana, the dark wizard in the Middle Ages.

Similarly, the reason why Patricia Rick appeared in Hogwarts has also found a reasonable explanation.

To say that the place with the largest number of wizards in the UK is obviously not here. But if you want to find the largest gathering place for underage wizards, where else but Hogwarts?

Compared to adult wizards, these young wizards who have not yet graduated are obviously more susceptible to brainwashing.

What's more, Patricia has a whole year to wait patiently for the seeds she planted to take root and sprout little by little.

"No wonder she would rather risk exposing herself by coming to Hogwarts and using that magic in class."

The confusion in Glenn's heart was instantly resolved.

"I didn't expect that she would dare to take such a big risk..."

"It's a pity that the most important link in this seemingly flawless plan has gone wrong." Dumbledore nodded lightly and sighed, "If Miss Arthur hadn't appeared at the door of my office several times, I'm afraid I would have This old guy is really going to be kept in the dark..."

Morgana looked complicated and felt depressed.Glenn wanted to comfort him, but he didn't know where to say it.

No one would feel comfortable knowing that they are being used as a body to hold other people's souls.

What's more, this person is the only Patricia she has regarded as a family member since she was a child...
