056 Defense Against the Dark Arts Lesson

Hermione sighed and nodded.

"Yes, it seems to be because of Professor Scrimgeour. Recently, I can always see him being hostile to the teacher."

Scrimgeour is hostile to almost everyone. He completely believes that he made a mistake coming to Hogwarts, but there is nothing he can do to reverse it.

"Professor Rumple is great, isn't he?" said Harry. "He's a great writer."

"But Scrimgeour is the head of the Auror Office, my dad's immediate boss." Ron said with a grimace. "He almost caused dad to lose his job."

"Little Ron, this has nothing to do with Dad being under his control. The main thing is that what you committed this time is really too big." George said as he took a big bite of the pie that he didn't know where he had conjured up.

"Yes, look at us, although we have been causing trouble, we have never been caught. You are so stupid." Fred fought for the pie in George's hand, but he still did not forget to complain about Ron.

"Yes, yes, it's all my fault." Ron said self-deprecatingly.

"Let's go to class. Class will start soon." Harry suggested, taking care of Ron's mood.

The second-year students of Gryffindor are eagerly looking forward to Scrimgeour's first lesson, because he is an excellent Auror. Although he does not look so friendly, this does not prevent them from wanting to follow him. Scrimgeour learns some real magic.

Instead of listening to Professor Quirrell's stammering speech in his class.

That was a complete disaster.

The school bell hadn't rang yet, and they were queuing up outside Scrimgeour's classroom early.

The only one who didn't come was Hermione, who didn't come until class was almost over.

"I went-"

"Teacher's place," Harry finished her words for her, "let's go, hurry up, or we won't have a good seat."

They hurriedly sat down on the four seats in front of the podium and took out their own "Dark Power Self-Defense Guide". They had been using this book last year and would continue to use it until the fourth grade and not until the fifth grade. Replaced with "Defense Against the Dark Arts Basics".

Soon, they heard hurried footsteps coming down the corridor.

Scrimgeour walked into the classroom with his usual straight face, like an angry lion, weird and scary.

"Put these things away," he said gruffly, walking quickly to the podium, "you don't need these textbooks."

The classmates put their books into their bags, and Hermione looked unhappy.

She still believed that she should study strictly according to the prepared study plan-mainly because of this, all the previews she had done before were in vain. She originally wanted to win more points in class to make up for the hundred points lost by Harry and Ron.

Scrimgeour took out the roster, shook his head, shook his long yellow hair away from his dead, emotionless face, and began to call the names.

Every time he called a student's name, he raised his head and looked in the direction of the response, as if he wanted to keep the name and appearance of each classmate firmly in his mind.

"Okay," he said after the last student finished answering, "I learned from the Ministry of Magic that none of you have received systematic Defense Against the Dark Arts training in the past few years. In my opinion, This is an extremely serious teaching mistake, and you have wasted a lot of time on meaningless things."

Hermione raised her hand.

"Miss Granger, do you have any questions?"

"I don't understand what you mean, what do you mean we waste time on meaningless things?" Hermione stood up and said crisply.

Scrimgeour laughed dryly. He walked slowly to Hermione, picked up the "Dark Power Self-Defense Guide" that was still on her desk and flipped through it casually.

"In my opinion, there is no need to study this book at the moment."

"But there are a lot about werewolves, vampires, monsters and the corresponding repelling spells-"

"That's exactly what you don't need to master." Scrimgeour's words caused a commotion among the students, and he had to slam the textbook on the table to silence them.

"Quiet!"

The noisy classroom finally became quiet again.

"I know, this fact is hard to believe," Scrimgeour raised his voice, his voice echoing in the classroom, making people's brains hurt, "but there is no doubt that I will teach you the most useful dark magic. Defense skills, truly protect yourselves - instead of facing werewolves and vampires that are almost impossible to meet."

Hermione sat down slowly. She thought Scrimgeour was right. She has indeed never seen the banshee, monster, vampire, werewolf, etc. mentioned in the book in the past 12 years.

After all, she wouldn't run into some primitive forest, and how could those evil creatures appear in a place where wizards gather?

"I know you must have mastered a lot of basic knowledge," Scrimgeour said loudly, "but this is not enough when it comes to how to deal with spells."

"You must know that the risks you face are more from wizards."

"But I haven't seen any teaching plans in this regard at Hogwarts, which I have to say is disappointing."

Scrimgeour paused, "I'm certainly not blaming Principal Dumbledore."

"He's blaming Dumbledore," Ron whispered to Harry.

Scrimgeour glared at Ron, obviously hearing him.

But he ignored Ron and continued talking on his own.

"Simply, I have one year to teach you how to deal with black magic. I am going to let you experience the magic among wizards."

He said with a straight face and a deadpan expression.

"By the way, I also want to say that the Duel Club has restarted at my strong suggestion. The time and location of the meeting will be posted on the notice board later."

"I hope I can see you. After all, the final exam requires spell casting."

"I don't want to see anyone fail the exam."

After Scrimgeour finished speaking, the entire classroom fell silent for an instant.

But soon, heated discussions broke out again.

"Quiet! Quiet!"

......

......

"Edward, what do you think Scrimgeour is planning?" Dumbledore asked absently, holding a scarlet lollipop in his mouth.

Edward lowered his head to check his repaired nails and said equally absent-mindedly, "It goes without saying that he wants to cultivate his own power. I think he must have realized the importance of forming a gang after being driven away by Fudge."

"But a group of students...how many of them will enter the Ministry of Magic?"

"How about calling him stupid?!"
