Chapter 1692 Warring States Shadowless Lamp

In some cases, it is a fact that the transaction price of jade is not as high as that of rough stone.

However, you have to see under what circumstances, can old antiques such as stone frogs from the Shang Dynasty be compared with ordinary jade?

However, now some online platforms with ulterior motives, in order to make the most money in a short period of time, will say that some stone artworks are more valuable than beautiful jade.

That's a lie, not to say that stone carvings are not as good as jade, but you have to see when the stone carvings were made and who carved the stone carvings!

The Internet is a place full of fish and dragons. Some people dare to say and do anything in order to cheat money.

"What else did you buy?"

Chen Wenzhe is now the most admired by Cao Qingchun. He never thought that he has only been back for a few months, and this kid has so many good things.

"The main reason is that you are famous now. It is because of your name that I can buy so many things."

Cao Qingchun didn't drift away. He knew very well that if everyone didn't know that he was Chen Wenzhe's agent, how could so many people come to him with good things?

For example, the bronze spear for hanging people, who can buy this thing?

And the Wangong sedan chair. There are many rich people in Boning in Dahai City, so if you just find one, you can sell it at a high price.

If it wasn't for Chen Wenzhe's name, why would he sell Cao Qingchun to him?

"The last three pieces. Look at this one. It should be a shadowless lamp from the Warring States period. It's very interesting."

"Shadowless lamp? This thing is not common!"

A wooden box was opened, and there was indeed a bronze utensil with various trays inside.

When Chen Wenzhe saw it, he knew it was really a shadowless lamp.

He checked carefully and found that it was not much different from the shadowless lamps unearthed in China before.

In [-], on the Beihe side of China, a farmer accidentally discovered the tomb of the Warring States period, and experts found a "shadowless lamp" from it.

In 1974, when farmers were collecting soil, they accidentally dug out the tomb of King Zhongshan.

This made the archaeological team very excited, but when they entered, they found that it was empty.

Disappointed and about to leave, a migrant worker suddenly stepped on empty space and fell into the side room, where he found countless treasures, including a copper lamp comparable to modern shadowless lamps.

During the Warring States Period, Zhongshan Kingdom was established in 414 BC by the northern ethnic minority Xianyu at the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain in Beihe today.

Although it is a small country with a small land and few people, the toughness and aggressiveness of the ethnic minorities often cause headaches for Yan and Zhao.

After years of war, Zhongshan was destroyed by Zhao in 294 BC and lasted for 120 years.

The discovery of this tomb was quite accidental. In the winter of 1974, villagers in Sanji Village, Pingshan County, Hebei Province took soil from two mountains in the village for construction.

After receiving the news, the municipal archaeological team immediately carried out rescue excavation and archaeology.

This tomb is in the shape of a "middle", with 6 accompanying pits, 3 carriage pits and 1 sacrificial pit, covering an area of more than 1 square meters.

There are steps, corridors, halls, and tombs in the tomb. The layout is neat and solemn. After identification, it turned out to be the tomb of Zhongshan Wangcuo and Queen!

The archaeologists were so excited that they worked hard day and night to dig and clean up.

They thought that many cultural relics with research value would be harvested, but to their disappointment, the tomb robbers in the past dynasties were rampant. The main tomb and the accompanying burial pit had already been destroyed and stolen, and even the coffin of King Zhongshan was burned to ashes.

Only two round copper rings for hanging coffins were harvested, and the team members were disappointed and sighed again and again.

Just as they were about to withdraw from the tomb, they heard a scream.

It turned out to be a migrant worker who came to help.Climb up to the side platform of the main tomb, suddenly step on the ground, and fall into a hidden tomb.

Everyone ran over to pull him, but found that the tomb was not deep, and it was full of all kinds of treasures!

It turned out that on the left and right sides of the main tomb, there is a hidden warehouse for funerary goods.

Because it is not connected to the main tomb, it has escaped numerous thefts over 2000 years and has been preserved to this day.

The archaeologists were stunned by the abundance of funerary objects in front of them.

There are various bronzes, musical instruments, sculptures, jade, lacquerware, pottery and living utensils, totaling more than 1900 pieces.

Among them, there are 18 treasures that can be called national treasures, such as: gold, silver and copper rhinoceros screen seat, Zhongshan Wang round pot and so on.

After the archaeological team carefully carried and cleaned all the utensils, there was a lamp with a strange shape that firmly attracted everyone's attention.

The shape of this lamp is a tree, with 14 branches protruding from the trunk, which are symmetrical in pairs, and 15 copper lamp panels are supported on the top and branches of the tree.

It has a base diameter of 26 cm and a height of 82.9 cm.

This is the "finished product" assembled by the archaeologists, because when they were first unearthed, they were just a pile of parts.

The subtle thing is that the splicing between each branch and the trunk is actually a mortise and tenon structure, and each tenon has a different shape.

As long as you find the interface, you can install it seamlessly. It has the simplicity of modern crafts, which is really amazing.

Three tigers with rings in their mouths support a base with dragon pattern.

There is also a 24-character inscription on the base, describing the luxurious tomb scene in Zhongshan Wangcuo.

Not only that, on each branch, there are graceful dragons swimming, birds singing, monkeys swinging, very lively and exquisite workmanship.

The archaeologists found that there is another feature of this lamp. If you want to adjust the brightness, you only need to increase or decrease the number of lamps.

Isn't this concept the same as the principle of modern parallel switch control?

In order to see the elegance of this copper lamp more than 2000 years ago, the archaeological team prepared tung oil and wicks and lit them one by one.

At this moment, an unbelievable scene appeared—there was no shadow under the copper lamp! This is an ancient shadowless lamp!

The experts present observed carefully and were amazed again and again.

It turns out that the skilled craftsmen in ancient times cleverly used the principle of light shadow formation and elimination to design lamps with different heights and different positions, which can eliminate shadows.

Anyone who has studied physics knows that placing a light source on one side of an object casts a black shadow on the other side.

If there are light sources on both sides, the particularly dark part of the superimposed part in the middle is called the umbra, and the surrounding shadows are slightly lighter.

And if you continue to put light sources around, the umbra will become smaller and smaller. When all the light sources are placed around the object and there is enough brightness, then the umbra is almost invisible. This is the principle of modern surgical shadowless lamps.

Therefore, if we look down from above, we will see that the lamp panel of fifteen copper lamps is evenly arranged from the inside to the outside.

This forms a large-area circular light source with the lamp post as the center, and each branch is symmetrical in pairs.

This is based on the principle of lever balance, so that the entire lamp always maintains a wonderfully balanced and stable state.

As long as you understand this principle, it is not difficult to make a shadowless lamp, but you need to understand the research.
