Chapter 1355 Panlong, Panlong, hidden in the mirror

The appearance of this bronze mirror in Chen Wenzhe's hand undoubtedly solved an eternal mystery and proved the real existence of this kind of imperial tribute mirror.

"Is this really Tang Jing? How is it possible?"

Chen Wenzhe carefully examined this mirror and compared it with the Tang mirror he knew. Could it be true?

The beast button, the image of the mirror center is the left green dragon, the right white tiger, the upper rose bird, and the lower basalt.

The four gods are paired with Kun, Xun, Qian, Kan, Zhen, Gen, Dui, and Li hexagrams, which is a typical shape of Jiangxin mirror.

The most important thing is that there are inscriptions on it, but what is engraved on it is not the simplest Yangshi Jiangxin Mirror, but the words Jiangxin Dragon Mirror.

There are also many inscriptions on this mirror, but Chen Wenzhe didn't recognize many handwritings at first, and the refining time seems to be wrong.

No, the real Jiang Xin mirror in the legend should be the time when this mirror was made now?

The inscription on this mirror reads: "Dragon mirror was formed by Jiangxin Bailian on May [-], the first year of Qianyuan in Tang Dynasty".

Such inscriptions have appeared before, even the sunken ship of the Black Stone, and a mirror of this kind was also exposed on it, but the inscriptions are still different.

The mirror in Chen Wenzhe's hand is very different from the inscription on the Tang mirror on the Black Stone.

Yangshi Jiangxin mirror is very famous, but not many people have seen it, only later it was salvaged from a shipwreck in Tang Dynasty.

However, that mirror is hidden in the Lijiapo Asian Civilization Museum.

It is 1.4 centimeters high and 21.2 centimeters in diameter, and it is hidden in the Khoo Teck Puat Exhibition Hall of the Asian Civilizations Museum in Singapore.

This batch of shipwrecks from the Tang Dynasty was purchased with the generous donation of the Qiu Teck Puat Heritage Fund to commemorate the late Mr. Qiu Teck Puat.

If there is any difference from what Chen Wenzhe discovered now, it is the inscription.

This mirror hidden in Lijiapo has the inscription in regular script on the outermost circle, "It was made in Yangzhou Yangzijiang River on November [-]th, the first year of Tang Qianyuan".

Jiangxin mirror is a tribute mirror of the Tang Dynasty, and its records have been seen in "Taiping Guangji·Li Shoutai".

"On the fifteenth day of the fifth month in the third year of Tianbao in the Tang Dynasty, Yangzhou entered the water as a mirror. Nine inches in length and width, the green light shines on the sun....At noon on May [-]th, it was cast in the Yangtze River."

As for the mirror in Lijiapo, the inscription also reads "Created in the heart of the Yangtze River".

This coincides with what is recorded in the literature, and it is clear that this mirror is the "Jiangxin Mirror" of Yangshi's tribute.

The Yangshi tribute mirror shows that Yangshi was one of the important mirror-casting centers in the Tang Dynasty.

This mirror of Jiang Xin from the shipwreck of the Black Stone is the only physical evidence seen so far that has a clear date and can be consistent with the literature records.

There is also a round Wuyue Mountains and Water Mirror in the Ugly Art Museum of Seattle and a private collector in Neon Osaka. The four-character inscription "Five Days in the River" is in the surrounding water waves, which can be said to be another form of Jiangxin Mirror.

It's just that Jiang Xinjing in the real historical legend is different from these, but similar to the side Chen Wenzhe discovered.

Why do you say that?Because there are detailed records in "Strange News Collection".

"Strange News Collection" contains: During the Tianbao period of Tang Dynasty, Yangshi Jinjiang Xinjing, also known as Shuixinjing.

When the mirror was cast, there was an old man with white hair and white clothes, Long Hu, who jumped into the furnace with black hair and black clothes, Xuan Ming, and refined it into a Panlong mirror in Jiangxin for three days.

The old man left a plain book saying: "Emperor Kaiyuan was able to communicate with the gods, and I am blessed. The mirror can ward off evil spirits and appreciate all things. The mirror of Emperor Qin can't be better. The song says: Panlong, Panlong, hidden in the mirror There are images in different fields, and the changes are endless. The clouds and fog are blown, and the rain produces the wind. Fairy of the Qing Dynasty, I beg for the Holy Cong."

Tang Lizhao's "Tang Kingdom History Supplement" also contains: "The old tribute Jiangxin Mirror in Yangzhou was cast by the Yangtze River Heart on May [-]."

Later, the "Jiangxin Mirror" was often used as an allusion for Dragon Boat Festival to ward off evil spirits and celebrate auspiciousness.

Yuan Ma Zuchang's "Dragon Boat Emulation of Six Dynasties Style": "The dragon mirror is cast in the heart of the river, which is easy to use to illuminate Xianglei."

This mirror is very miraculous in the legend, which is mainly reflected in those few words: Panlong, Panlong, hidden in the mirror.

This shows that there is a dragon pattern hidden in this mirror, and it can appear and disappear from time to time.

Of course, no one believed in these miraculous legends.

However, since the treasures in the shipwreck of the Black Stone were salvaged, the various sayings in these legends have become different.

A bronze vessel found in the "Black Stone", namely "Jiangxin Mirror", also known as Shuixin Mirror or Bailian Mirror.

Legend has it that this is a unique ancient bronze mirror in Yang City, and it is also a "divine object" for tribute;

"Taiping Guangji" contains "Tang Tianbao three years, on May [-]th, Yangzhou entered the river with a mirror, nine inches in length and width, light and bright, with a coiled dragon on its back, three feet, four inches and five minutes long, as vivid as it is."

In fact, there are not many ancient bronze mirrors of this shape, but they are definitely not uncommon.

There are so many bronze mirrors in archaeological discoveries. What's so strange about this?

Indeed, judging from the current archaeological findings, there are indeed not a few unearthed bronze mirrors;

According to historical records, Yang City in the Tang Dynasty was originally the "production base" of bronze mirrors. It seems not surprising that an "exported" bronze mirror was found on the Silk Road on the water.

If "Jiang Xinjing" is so ordinary, it's fine. The reason why it is called "treasure" is because there is a rather "magical" experience;

The "Jiangxin Mirror" recorded in history was dedicated to Xuanzong by Li Shoutai.

To be fair, since ancient times, "wealth is nothing like the emperor's family". Xuanzong was also a generation of emperors. Seeing that it was just a "mirror", he didn't take it seriously at first.

But Li Shoutai said that "Yangzijiang's state of mind" was a treasure, and reported it truthfully.

According to today's historical records, Yang City is rich in bronze mirrors, and there is a workshop called "Lu Hui", which is even more famous;

During Emperor Taizong's reign, an old man and a young man suddenly came to Lu Hui's workshop. The old man wore green clothes and called himself "Long Hu", while the young man wore black clothes and called himself "Xuan Ming".

The young and old couple said to Lu Hui, "Although you have superb skills, you still can't make a 'precious mirror'. The two of us can fulfill your wish."

Lu Hui was very happy and immediately vacated his workshop for the two to use;

Strangely, the doors and windows of the workshop of the old and young generals were sealed, and there was no sound of forging hammers beating.

Everyone in Lu Hui was "mortal body", and when they heard something was wrong in the workshop, they trembled in fright, and no one dared to peek;

After three days and three nights, there was no sound in the workshop. Lu Hui opened the door and saw that the old and young couple had disappeared, leaving only a note.

It says "Mirror Dragon is three feet, four inches and five cents long, with three talents, four spirits, five elements, and nine villages. A mirror can ward off evil spirits and guide all things, and the mirror of Qin Shihuang cannot be improved."

This text clearly tells Lu Hui the size and style of the bronze mirror, and why he made a "treasure mirror";

These words are fairly simple, so I won’t explain them sentence by sentence here.

In addition to these, there is a "song" on the paper.

The original text is: In Panlong Panlong hidden mirror, there are images in different fields, and the changes are endless.Xingyun spits fog, and rain generates wind.Shangqing Fairy, Laixian Shengcong.
