My system is not decent

Chapter 1316 Sai Guan Kiln

The underwater excavation of ancient shipwrecks certainly cannot rely entirely on manual labor. Some simple tasks can be done by machines.

Therefore, in the first few days, the underwater team members spent most of their time playing "water cannons".

The water cannon is to use a high-pressure water gun to break away the solid sea mud covering the sunken ship.

At this time, the team members were still calm, waiting for the muddy water to float away, so they could start working accurately in their leisure time.

But after the 10th day of excavation, the situation took a turn for the worse.

Every time they used the air pump to pump the mud, they were anxious because the mud flow made everything blurry.

The air pump in underwater exploration is equivalent to the hand shovel in field archaeology. Without it, it is difficult to extend the work downward.

Today, players have to give it up on a regular basis.

During the long investigation process of the blind man feeling the elephant, the team members found that the wreck was 14 meters long, 3 meters wide and 1 meter high, missing above the deck, and missing the head and tail.

Other than that, the harvest is not much, after all, Chen Wenzhe doesn't want to salvage the whole sunken ship.

Besides, the ship was severely damaged, and he just needed some specific parts to study.

Especially the cockpit, and some key parts of the cargo warehouse.

Of course, it is not easy to obtain the hull of the accurate position.

Because the originally clearly demarcated cabins of the sunken ship were difficult to find again after the visibility decreased.

It was not until about forty days after the excavation that visibility finally recovered, and work such as photography and drawing could be carried out relatively normally.

At this time, the machine can be fully started, and the porcelain can be salvaged on a large scale.

When a horizontal layer of porcelain comes out of the water, the "Exploring Fang" investigation continues, photography, videography, surveying and mapping, and a new round of excavation procedures starts again.

Blue and white porcelain has always been the focus of this shipwreck.

There is a common saying circulating in the archaeological circles of our country that "one ship has ten tombs".

The unmatched volume of the cabin represents the magnificence of the number and types of cultural relics.

No one can avoid it. The economic value of cultural relics, you must know that Gao Qijing and the others get a commission for what they harvested on this ship.

Although the percentage of the commission is small, it can't stand the big reward!

By the end of the phased excavation work, a total of 1287 cultural relics were salvaged, including some Kangxi blue and white plates that had just been harvested.

As the porcelain comes out of the water one after another, the identification work is also carried out in turn.

Most of these porcelains belong to the blue and white category, with elegant color and even body quality.

Although there is no official kiln inscription, Chen Wenzhe can confirm that these are Jingzhen private kilns in the Kangxi period.

On this day, during the most violent astronomical tide of the year, the team members pumped and cleaned the areas around the sunken ship, and surveyed and mapped new data.

The excavation is at a critical stage, with the plan to see the shape of the wreck's bottom and to clean up any loose artifacts in the silt around the ship.

On this day, in the "East Sixth District", a wooden box buried deep in the sand was opened.

It was filled with "Clark porcelain", and once it was found, it was immediately salvaged and taken out of the water.

Only this time, several stacks of intact large blue and white porcelain plates with flowers and plants were found.

These big trays are placed mouth-to-mouth, or bottom-to-bottom, and obviously maintain the original posture when they were shipped more than 300 years ago.

Since the seabed sediment in this area is relatively solid, the team members first removed the sediment and surrounding debris, and then slowly took out 55 blue and white porcelain plates step by step.

After getting out of the water, Chen Wenzhe discovered that the patterns drawn on these porcelain plates were flowers and plants from the Mediterranean region, not the native flowers in the traditional patterns of Chinese porcelain.

Based on this, it can be inferred that this is a batch of porcelain that is not much different from the Clark porcelain found on Wanjiao-[-], and it must have been specially ordered by European merchants.

Clark porcelain is also the name of my country's blue and white porcelain in Europe. In fact, it specifically refers to this kind of export porcelain that is deeply loved by European princes and nobles.

In addition to this batch of Clark porcelain, some tube goblets and goblets were also unearthed from the wreck.

These porcelains are all covered in accordance with European customs, and there is even a small European-style dining table vase.

After discovering a large number of intact porcelain, the team members discovered several large blue-and-white porcelain jars buried in the sand as more excavations began.

After getting out of the water, it was found that one of the porcelain jars was about 60 cm high, and it was the most popular "general jar" during the Kangxi period.

This general jar is painted with a flower basket full of flowers, and has a "blessing" character. It is named after the meaning of Chinese porcelain, and it is of the style of "ten thousand flowers present auspiciousness".

The other two porcelain jars, one blue and white porcelain jar and the other multicolored porcelain jar, are excellent works of porcelain with exquisite patterns.

Perhaps it was because it was hidden in a wooden box, or it might be because it was buried by sand. Anyway, most of the porcelain that came out of the water was as clean as new.

Looking at the rooms of porcelain, Chen Wenzhe laughed.

Such cases are very rare, but not impossible.

For example, the Wanjiao No. [-] shipwreck mentioned earlier, on which a large number of brand new porcelains were salvaged.

The situation is the same as this time, if part of the lost porcelain enters the antique market.

If you want to say whether it is Haidao porcelain or antiques, this is definitely not recognized in the market.

At the very least, some ordinary buyers may not be able to believe that it is something from the Kangxi period at first, because it looks so new.

But it is a pity that because the glaze color distribution of some multicolored porcelain is opposite to that of blue and white porcelain, the overglaze color, that is, the color is painted on the outside of the glaze layer. After more than 300 years of seawater immersion, it has permanently lost its luster.

Of course, there are also good things. According to Chen Wenzhe's preliminary statistics, the more than 1000 pieces of porcelain they found are not too many, but there are many types.

After preliminary statistics, a total of more than 50 types of utensils and more than 100 decorations were found.

After the appraisal, Chen Wenzhe believed that all the porcelain came from Jingzhen.

About 50% of the utensils are made of high-quality kaolin, and the level of craftsmanship is no less than that of official kilns.

This is definitely not simple, because even in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, there were not many porcelains fired entirely with high-quality kaolin.

What's more, the production tasks of official kilns back then were very heavy. How could it be possible to sell porcelain to foreigners after producing it?

In fact, due to insufficient production capacity, the imperial kiln factory at that time also ordered some porcelain from some folk kilns in order to complete the tasks assigned by the palace.

Then add the inscription of the official kiln and make it an offering on the official kiln.

This is enough to show that the production quality of some folk kilns is not inferior to that of official kilns.

Of course, what represents the official kiln is the high-quality kaolin used in it, which is fundamental.

Chen Wenzhe believes that this batch of porcelain is not inferior to official kilns, because of this.

Because from some damaged porcelain, it can be seen that the fetal soil inside is not simple.

A piece of porcelain painted with a dragon pattern similar to that of an official kiln vaguely proves this point.

If it is said that this batch of porcelain is not official kiln wares, but produced by private kilns, it can explain a lot of problems.
