Chapter 1309 Legendary Bowl Reef

When someone hears about sea fishing porcelain, they will think of the damaged glaze layer covered with the remains of marine life.

This is wrong. For example, the Kangxi emerald hair blue landscape figure bottle discovered by Chen Wenzhe is very well preserved.

If you don't say it, you can't even see that it has been preserved in seawater for hundreds of years.

And this is not accidental.

There are also sea-fished porcelain like "Wanjiao No. [-]", a considerable part of which belongs to this situation.

The batch of Haidao porcelain that came out of the water has no obvious inclusions on the outside, but the corrosion of seawater will leave traces on the surface of the porcelain.

Under such circumstances, the surface of the porcelain is often matte, and even corrosion plaques appear.

Special attention needs to be paid here. It is not that the sea water is corroded, and a large piece of marine organisms will definitely damage the porcelain, especially the glaze on the surface of the porcelain.

This is not necessarily the case, because there are some porcelains that seem to have experienced vicissitudes of life and are covered with oddly shaped underwater biological residues. After cleaning, they may be a modern porcelain with a bright appearance and a rich glaze.

Therefore, some people are currently using sea creatures to forge sea fishing porcelain, and they can even forge some so-called high-quality sea fishing porcelain.

These so-called high-quality hailao porcelain will definitely fetch a high price.

Because there are precedents to follow, it is like "Wanjiao No. [-]" fishing porcelain in the sea.

Speaking of Wanjiao No. [-], the sunken ship can be found here, and there are traces to follow.

This shipwreck is located near Pingtanwan Reef in the East China Sea of Hu Jian, FJ Province.

Because hundreds of years ago, this was a waterway with frequent merchant ships.

Because of the many hidden reefs and unpredictable currents, some merchant ships sank here.

According to the cargo on the sunken ship, the locals called the waters here Baitang Reef, Yinzhu Reef, and Wan Reef in turn.

Why is it called Bowl Reef?It is because most of the porcelain bowls picked up by fishermen are called bowl reefs.

One day in late June 2005, when a fisherman was fishing near Wanjiao in Pingtan, he accidentally fished out some porcelain.

The patterns on these porcelains are exquisite and simple. After archaeological investigation, it was found that there was a sunken ship more than ten meters below the water.

With the advancement of archaeological work, experts believe that this is a vessel for transporting porcelain during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty.

It is worth mentioning that "Wanjiao No. [-]" found the simplified Chinese characters "Shuanglong" on the Qing Dynasty Kangxi blue and white porcelain.

After the news came out at that time, relevant experts explained the doubts.

Simplified characters did not appear after liberation. Before that, many domestic celebrities, as well as Kang Youwei, Tan Sitong and others earlier, were trying to simplify traditional characters.

The basis is the broken style, vulgar style and lowercase in traditional Chinese calligraphy.

These fonts appeared as early as the Han Dynasty, and are not uncommon in calligraphy of past dynasties.

It was only after the liberation that the government promoted simplified characters throughout the country, and people thought that simplified characters only appeared after liberation.

The abbreviated "Double" and "Dragon" have appeared in Wei Bei.

The word "dragon" has been written similar to simplified characters in oracle bone inscriptions and bronze inscriptions.

The abbreviation on the porcelain here should be the signature mark left by the maker, just like a monogram.

In fact, the "simplified characters" evolved from calligraphy began to be used among the people in the Ming and Qing Dynasties or even earlier.

At that time, simplified and traditional characters were parallel, so it was reasonable for folk craftsmen to use the abbreviated "Double Dragon" on porcelain.

Simplified characters have also been found on some ancient porcelain before.

For example, when Chen Wenzhe bought two pieces of porcelain in Shendu, he thought they were imitated by modern people, and there was a mistake.

In fact, it was made by the ancients unintentionally, and it is a real antique.

Speaking of Wanjiao No. [-], there are still many things worth talking about.

Because this sunken ship has a good reference significance for excavating underwater sunken ships.

Of course, Chen Wenzhe pays attention to this ship mainly because there are many mysteries on this ship, and also because many of the porcelain found on this ship are beautifully preserved and well preserved.

What's more, this is likely to be a fine porcelain produced in Jingzhen during the Kangxi period.

You know, Jingzhen was the imperial kiln factory at that time, and since it was a high-quality product, it would not be much worse than the official kiln.

In this way, the value of this boat is very high.

Wanjiao No. 10 is a wooden boat that sank about [-] meters underwater.

The most important point is that its hull is buried in the sand, and only part of the ship's planks and sides can be seen.

When it was discovered, it was not even possible to measure the exact size.

Of course, ancient shipwrecks that capsized must have a large number of porcelain scattered on the seabed near the shipwreck.

This time the porcelain was exposed to sea water, and after hundreds of years of baptism, it will definitely be damaged.

This is the standard hailao porcelain, but what about non-standard ones?

It must be the porcelain that was directly buried by the sand, so some of the exquisite porcelain found on this boat came from this way.

This batch of blue and white porcelain has a variety of varieties. The main types of vessels are general jars, large plates, flower goblets, statues, incense burners, pots, bowls, deep-bellied cups, middle plates, lids, shallow-bellied bowls, small plates, small bowls, small cups, Powder box, pen holder, small bottle, small cup, washing machine, etc.

In addition, stone inkstones, copper coins and copper locks were also found.

Due to the shallow burial of the shipwreck site, the large-scale robbery and excavation at the beginning of the discovery caused the ship itself to suffer serious damage.

However, fortunately, many porcelains were not stolen because of the protection of the sand.

Also, because of the protection of the sand, the glaze of this batch of porcelain is still as new, and the patterns are clearly visible.

Judging from the excavated porcelain, the porcelain in this shipwreck can be roughly divided into two categories.

One is small-scale daily-use porcelain, but many of them are high-quality products, just like official kiln porcelain recorded in historical materials.

They are "delicate adobe, thin texture, excellent glaze color".

Another type of these porcelain is the display porcelain used for decoration and viewing.

For example, a gourd bottle was found, which is a rare thing.

Its production process is very special, the lower layer is sauce glaze, the middle layer is Ge glaze, and the upper layer is blue and white glaze, which is very precious.

The largest porcelain that comes out of water is the "General Jar".

There must be a reason why so many precious porcelains can be preserved.

Because in that sea area, the ancient and today's routes have not changed much.

Not far from the shipwreck, you can still see the continuous flow of ships.

Where people come and go, even tomb robbers don't dare to be too presumptuous.

Also, that sea area is really dangerous, because anyone passing by can see that when the tide goes out, many hidden reefs will be exposed in that area.

Such a place also indirectly protects the precious porcelain buried under the sea.

Even so, after the final cleaning and excavation of "Wanjiao No. 17000", more than [-] pieces of cultural relics were released from the water.

Together with those that were lost, stolen, and destroyed, it is estimated that the cargo on this ship should be at least 5 pieces.
