Ashes of Hogwarts

Chapter 148: Weird

"Thank you, Miss Elizabeth, you can leave."

Ash thanked him and sat back on the podium.

Rowling Carolla has always been a studious and honest girl, a typical Hufflepuff.

Ash really couldn't imagine how such a child could stay up all night after going to Hogsmeade and even not come to class.

Bewildered by the colorful world outside?

It's impossible, it's not the first time for a kid in third grade to go out.

After much thought, Ash decided to report the matter to Dumbledore.

Although I don't know if anyone else has discovered it, I still leave it to Dumbledore to worry about such things that require thinking.

If you have this time, why not go home and watch the live broadcast of Hawkwood's solo play in Hell?

That night, Dumbledore directed the gatekeepers of each college to count their respective numbers.

Fortunately, no one else was missing.

Dumbledore rushed to Hogsmeade himself and drank tea at Ash's house for half the night, but in the end he didn't investigate anything.

According to what those bosses said, Rowling only stayed in Hogsmeade for less than half a day.

Had a butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks and some candy from the candy store.

It is said that she couldn't help but scream when she ate Bibi's multi-flavor beans with the flavor of conch powder.

"So, do you think she was kidnapped by bad guys?"

Under the cover of night, Ash held his chin and looked at Dumbledore, who was surveying the ground with a magnifying glass.

Not far away, several brand-new volumes of knight's travels were scattered there.

And now Dumbledore was looking at the footprints on the ground.

"Needless to say, she must have met some bad guys on her way back to school."

Dumbledore stood up.

As an unprofessional non-detective, it was obvious that he found nothing.

But the mage has the investigative skills of a mage.

He took out the Elder Wand and tapped it on his left arm.

"Trace appears!"

Dumbledore said loudly.

Soon, many messy footprints appeared next to the books.

Those footprints quickly disappeared, leaving only two small traces.

The set of footprints quickly spread forward, as if repeating its owner's previous route.

Dumbledore and Ash quickly gave chase.

The footsteps disappeared at a fork in the road.

It would be more appropriate to say that it disappeared, rather than that it was cluttered.

Every road at the three-way intersection was covered with footprints, even on the trees and in the pond at the end.

"What a powerful confusion spell."

Dumbledore couldn't help but sigh.

Being able to cast the Confusion Curse to the point of disrupting his own magic, this wizard is definitely one of the most powerful people in the magic world.

"I'll try."

Ash stretched out his hands and pinched two seals.

Since the other party cast a confusion spell to disrupt the line of sight, they must have made other preparations.

So Ash wants to go straight back in time to see what happened.

As Ash moved his hands, a dense emerald green magic circle quickly condensed in the void.

The basic magic pattern that constructs the magic circle exudes a faint red fire, and the overall look is extremely weird but very harmonious.

Ash stretched out his hand and pressed the magic circle, slowly moving the time forward like turning the combination lock of a safe.

The past scenes were completely displayed in front of the two of them as if they were being played backwards at a doubled speed.

Then, it stopped abruptly.

To be precise, it skipped the time when Rowling Carolla's accident happened.

It's like someone simply erased this period of time from the past.

"Not ordinary people."

Dumbledore frowned.

Those who can be involved in the time dimension are basically strong men at the boss level.

Even Dumbledore himself barely came into contact with this level after fusing the soul of the crystallized old man.

"Call the police. It's better to leave this kind of matter to professionals, or you can go to Holmes."

There was nothing Ash could do anyway.

Originally, he wanted to learn to use Sherlock Holmes' method to solve crimes, but he failed the first time.

"Although I don't think the Auror's ability is better than ours, at least it can be regarded as a helper. As for Holmes, I would like to trouble you to contact him."

The disappearance of the little wizard while at school was a big deal, and Dumbledore was not so big-hearted as to think that two half-assed detectives could solve the mystery laid out by this powerful opponent.

Some things still have to be left to professionals.

The people from the Auror office arrived quickly.

Almost five minutes after Dumbledore informed them, Scrimgeour and three Aurors walked out of a blue space crack in a hurry.

The three Aurors began to seal off the scene skillfully, took out their wands and magic books and began recording evidence.

Scrimgeour was chatting with Dumbledore.

For Dumbledore, every student at Hogwarts was his own family. Especially after the appearance of Voldemort, he became even more caring for the orphans in the school.

Apparently, Rowling Carolla was such a student.

Apart from her classmates at Hogwarts, she has almost no social background.

"Don't worry, Principal Dumbledore. Our Auror Office, in line with the purpose of serving the people and adhering to the creed of keeping the law open without leakage, will definitely bring the murderer to justice and return the student to you intact."

Scrimgeour's words were high-sounding, but Dumbledore felt that something was not quite right.

It was more reliable for him to put his hope in Holmes.

Thinking of the sound of wind and thunder, Dumbledore felt something bad.

You know, Ash always uses the time and space wall to teleport people.

Sure enough, there was nothing around him.

"That boy has been in big trouble recently. A group of his masters and disciples have faced off against a bad guy named Dormammu. He is said to be quite strong and he has no time to come over."

In fact, Ash originally wanted to see if he could kill the guy directly for them, but unfortunately, he was unanimously rejected by Kama Taj.

And their reasons were all fatalistic, which made Ash very annoyed.

Isn't Ashes a victim of fatalism?

"It looks like we can only rely on these Aurors."

Dumbledore smiled bitterly.

Having said that, Dumbledore didn't have high hopes for them.

"Don't be discouraged. Although I didn't kidnap Holmes back, I got a magic trick from them."

Ash quietly took a note from Rowling Karoka scattered on the ground from the hand of a passing Auror.

After a series of seemingly complicated gestures, the note was folded into a small boat.

The high pointed corner in the middle of the boat is like the wick of a candle, and a small flame is burning slowly.

"This magic is called the Boat of Life. It can detect the physical condition of others through their personal belongings."

"Judging from this flame, Rowling Carolla is still alive, and there is nothing wrong with her body. She just fell into a deep coma."

What Dumbledore feared most was that the little wizard had been poisoned.

Now that I heard the news that the other party was safe and sound, I couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
