Wizards of Hogwarts

Chapter 38 Bar Deal

This is a dilapidated, low-slung small bar. The slowly curling smoke, mottled nicotine stains and sewage flowing down the curved walls together constitute this smoky environment.

Elrohir had a vague guess before he came in. After stepping through the door, he instantly confirmed what he had just thought: this is the "Blind Pig Bar", a complete "underground bar"

The people who patronize this place are all the lowlifes of the New York wizarding world. Almost all the wizards and criminals in New York gather here, and densely packed wanted notices are proudly posted on the four walls.

Among the many wanted posters, Gellert Grindelwald's notice is the most conspicuous one. It seems that even the Dark Wizards in America understand the terrifying power of this increasingly famous Dark Lord.

On a narrow stage, a slender fairy jazz singer was singing in a low voice, and guests with different expressions cheered for her.

Everything here is so dirty and dilapidated, creating an eerie and joyful atmosphere.

And this kind of atmosphere is exactly what Elrohir dislikes the most. He prefers the sky and sea, forests and rivers. He likes spiritual creatures shaped by nature, rather than the decadent and happy environment of the Blind Pig Bar.

Elrohir frowned, looking past the elf singer who was singing, past the giant playing cards, past the wizard with scars on his face, and finally found a secluded corner bar.

He walked towards the unattended bar, and the nervous Jacob followed him.

"Why do you need alcohol in such a tavern?" Jacob wanted to chat for a while and relax his mood.

Before Elrohir could reply, a thin wine bottle filled with brown liquid fell from the sky and flew straight towards Jacob. He grabbed it with a look of astonishment on his face.

"Ask for wine like this," Elrohir said in good time.

A house elf behind the bar stuck his head out to look at Jacob and asked in a rude and arrogant tone: "How come you haven't seen a house elf before?"

"Um, no, of course I've seen it before." Jacob wanted to sound nonchalant, "I like house elves, and my uncle is a house elf."

"Hey!" The house elf made a disdainful sound.

Elrohir patted Jacob sympathetically. If you don't understand, pretending to understand is like this. It's easy for problems to arise.

"A glass of mountain spring water, thank you."

"No, sissy"

Well, this is an unusual house elf, and there is something wrong with his brain, Elrohir warned himself, and then he restrained himself from getting angry on the spot.

The house-elf bartender snapped his fingers, and a dirty wine glass flew up from under the counter, filled with a transparent liquid that looked quite clean.

Elrohir didn't even think about reaching out to take it. He pointed to the table. The house-elf bartender slammed the cup on the counter, and a lot of water splashed out.

Jacob pulled out the cork of the wine bottle in his hand and laughed: "It seems that this is not my problem."

"I just haven't found the right way to get along with each other." Elrohir said without any concern.

Elrohir, who had lost his mind to drink water and was fine, suddenly remembered the "trophy" in his pocket. It was the wand of the blond witch he had killed in the Magic Congress before.

Elrohir took the wand out of her pocket and put it in front of her eyes. The vulgar house elf bartender quickly disappeared.

"Detect item information."

A light blue panel appeared out of thin air.

Item name: magic wand

Introduction: The wand of an unknown witch has no scratches or bruises on its appearance. It is obvious that the previous owner took good care of it.

Length: nine and one-half inches

Materials: aspen, mother of pearl, unknown wand core

Quality: Strengthened

Description: This is a wand used by wizards.

The system gave very little information, which was not surprising to Elrohir, because most of the information in the system was obtained from him, and was just summarized and sorted out.

Elrohir used her thumb to gently press the protruding mother-of-pearl at the end of the finely textured wand, recalling a spell that Newt had once cast.

"Cup flying"

Nothing happens.

Elrohir, who failed to practice magic for the first time, was not discouraged, or in other words, he did not expect to be able to cast a spell successfully as soon as he got the wand. Perhaps it was because the difficulty of the spell was relatively high or the casting posture was wrong.

Anyway, Elrohir is quite optimistic. As for what the system says "elves cannot use magic", who knows if that is definitely accurate? It all depends on human beings.

At this moment, a depressed Queenie came over, and Elrohir put the wand in her hand back into her pocket.

Queenie told the house-elf bartender: "Six shots of grog and a shot of boomerang."

Facing a real wizard, the house elf didn't say anything nonsense. It simply snapped its fingers, and all the drinks Queenie wanted were served gently.

Jacob reached for a glass of grog, drank it in one gulp, and suddenly let out a high-pitched laugh. This was exactly the effect of grog.

Queenie saw his surprised expression and smiled charmingly.

Elrohir, who was unwilling to be a light bulb, decided to leave here. He walked towards Newt and Tina: "Hey, Newt, if you don't mind, can I wait for you outside now?"

Tina looked troubled, and she lowered her voice and said, "Narlak is already here."

Helpless Elrohir was pulled by New to sit down, and left directly in front of the bar owner. It would be too rude.

Narlak emerged from the depths of the underground bar. He was smoking a cigar, his clothes were very elegant for a goblin, and he had a scheming look in his movements.

"Then you are the guy who brought a box of monsters." Narlak sat down, the smell of arrogance getting stronger.

"Word travels fast," Newt whispered. "I'd like to make a deal with you."

A house elf hurriedly brought Narlak a piece of food, which was a plate of steamed large lobsters. The bright red shell was dotted with green spots. It was very large, a foot long.

Newt and Elrohir looked at each other strangely, and they both recognized the lobster as a soft-clawed land shrimp that was not found in America.

Unknowingly, Narlak cut open the back shell of the lobster with a knife and fork, took out the white and tender meat inside and ate it. While eating, he said: "Your head is worth a lot of money now, why should I go with you?" You're making a deal, Mr. Scamander."

Newt pulled out two gold galleons, and Narrak didn't even raise his eyelids; a beautiful metal telescope, an instrument that can display the phases of the moon, Narrak said there were five in it; until Newt took out one After freezing the fire-ash snake eggs, Narlak finally became a little interested.

But the next moment, it saw Pickett sticking his head out of Newt's pocket.

Pictish bowtruckle is a little expert at picking locks and making a lot of money

A formula flashed across Narlach's mind, forcing Newt to trade the poor Bowtruckle.

After going through a painful decision, Newt decided to complete the deal.

"Oh, yes, look at this guy's fingers, they are just born with keys." Narlak admired Pickett in his hand for a while, and then said to Newt, "Something invisible is in the fifth place." It's causing a lot of chaos around the strip, you should probably go check out the Macy's building, a Bowtruckle is worth the price."

Suddenly, a scream came from the entrance of the bar: "People from the Magic Congress are here."

The patrons in the bar disappeared one after another. Tina stood up angrily and said to Narlak: "You actually snitched on them."

Narlak laughed evilly.

At this moment, the Aurors appeared one after another and arrested the prisoners who had not escaped.

Jacob walked up to Narlak and punched it in the face, knocking it unconscious: "Sorry, Mr. Narlak, you remind me of that damn foreman."

Queenie looked at Jacob's behavior with joy, as if she was looking at her lover.

"That's enough. If you don't want to be infected, leave quickly. This goblin has eaten something bad," Elrohir reminded, squeezing the quiet Picket in his hand.

A group of people disapparated.
