Hogwarts: I Can Still Learn

Chapter 3 The Greengrass Family

Vincent was woken up. The medicine the hospital put in the drinking water should have allowed a child to sleep until noon.

Unexpectedly, Vincent woke up early.

Don't think I don't know you put sleeping pills in the water to save money on breakfast.

Oh, St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Injuries and Injuries, I've seen through you.

Vincent sat up habitually and looked around. Last night he saw half of the newspaper folded and placed on the bedside table. The ward was still empty, no one was there.

The sound came from outside the door. You could see through the glass on the door that it was a man and a woman quarreling.

The woman was relatively short, definitely no taller than 165cm, with blue eyes and blond hair, a pretty face that was red with anger. The man is taller, with waist-length white hair hanging behind him, and holding a one or two-year-old little girl with white hair in his arms. He looks calm and indifferent, as if he can't let anything go. He became interested.

Oh Merlin's bubble gum

What kind of fairy family is this? Even their hair color is full of erudition. Even the children who are one or two years old have turned gray due to learning.

Loved it.

"That's your brother's son. Are you just going to ignore it?" The woman's voice had a questioning tone.

"From the day he chose to marry that mudblood, he was no longer my brother." The man said lightly.

The woman was a little emotional, "But they are dead and will not come back. But Vincent is innocent, and his surname is Greengrass."

After hearing this, Vincent realized that they were talking about himself. It turned out that his parents were dead and he was still an orphan. Fortunately, he still looked forward to it.

"I won't let a bastard set foot in Greengrass's manor, but I will pay his child support. After all, your family is already too poor to open the door." The man said calmly.

Tsk, being rich is a big deal! This guy talks so weirdly, it's really annoying.

Abandoned.

Alas, as expected of me, I dare to love and hate.

"You" were too womanly to speak.

"Dad, I want to buy a cat." The little girl in the man's arms touched his face and said softly.

The man patted the girl's head lovingly, turned to the woman and said: "Listen, Catherine, I don't have that much time to talk nonsense to you. My not taking back his parents' private treasury is already the greatest leniency to him. From now on, He has no relationship with the Greengrass family." After saying that, he took his daughter and left, leaving only the woman named Catherine standing there alone.

It sounds like that man should be his uncle, the patriarch of the Greengrass family, and that woman should also have some relationship with his parents.

Vincent got out of bed quietly, opened the door a crack, and looked out.Outside the door is a long corridor, lined with oak doors with glass inlays on both sides that are exactly the same as those in his ward.

Catherine stood not too far away from her, facing the "Please buy genuine Floo powder" sign on the white wall, sniffing quietly.

Vincent was just about to stick his head out to look at the other end of the corridor, but the door made an unsatisfactory "creak", causing Catherine to turn her head sharply.

Her eye circles and nose were red, and she had obviously been crying for a long time.

"Oh little Vincent, you're awake." Catherine hurriedly wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes and forced a smile to him.

"Hello." Vincent was still half-faced in the door, looking like a shy child.

"Come, let aunt hug you." Catherine smiled, stretched out her hands, and walked towards him.

Vincent subconsciously took a step back and made room for the door.

Seeing that her nephew was unwilling to be intimate with her, Catherine was stunned for a moment, and then she seemed to remember something and said, "Oh, look at my memory. I forgot about little Vincent." She walked into the ward. He looked at Vincent and said, "My name is Elise Catherine, and I am your mother's sister. Little Vincent can just call me Aunt Elise."

"Aunt Elise." Vincent called obediently.

"Hey." Catherine touched his head, responded, and then continued: "Your parents are away from home for something. During this time, you can come to live with your aunt, okay?"

Vincent's eyes dimmed a bit, but he didn't reveal it. Of course he knew she was lying to him. In fact, his parents would never come back.

I thought so in my heart, but I still answered obediently: "Okay."

"Then little Vincent will stay in the hospital for a while. Auntie will go back to clean up the attic at home and pick you up in the evening, okay?" Elise said in the tone of a kindergarten teacher coaxing a child.

"Well, okay." Although he was not used to it, Vincent still answered honestly.

Elise stayed for a short while and finished breakfast with Vincent before leaving.

It should be around ten o'clock in the morning. Vincent asked someone to bring a newspaper and read it.

Today we reported the news about Sirius Black bombing the street, and the arrest of many Death Eaters. We announced the official end of the First Wizarding War, and also opened a special section to disclose the list of those who died:

Regulus Black

Fabian Prewett

Gideon Prewett

Andrew Greengrass

Violet Greengrass

James Potter

Lily Potter

Wait, Andrew Greengrass and Violet Greengrass.

If I guessed correctly, these two should be his parents.

Vincent frowned and realized that things were not simple.

According to what the uncle said before, the Greengrass family does not even allow intermarriage with Muggle wizards. It should be a very old-fashioned and traditional pure-blood family. How could they die at the hands of Death Eaters? Could it be that, my own Like Sirius Black, his parents betrayed their family and joined the Order of the Phoenix. Could it be that the Ministry of Magic wanted to cast an oblivion spell on him because he knew something he shouldn't have known?

Before Vincent could think about it, there was a knock on the door outside the ward.

Strange, it’s not dinner time yet.

Vincent jumped out of bed briskly, opened the door and saw that it was the man who had brought him the newspaper before.

"Hello, is this Mr. Vincent Greengrass?" He said standing outside the door without coming in.

"Well, it's me."

"This is your package, please sign for it." The man took out a package carefully wrapped in brown paper and said.

"Oh well."

With doubts, Vincent quickly signed, took the package, and sent the tool man away.

It should be a square thing like a box. It's quite heavy, and it was sent anonymously. Anyway, Vincent didn't see any information except his own name.

After tearing open the brown paper, an envelope fell out first. Other than that, it was just a vintage leather suitcase that was not too big.

The envelope read: To Mr. Vincent Greengrass. Also unsigned.
