Chapter 22 Louise

Lois Lane angrily walked out of the revolving door of the Daily Planet, and the revolving door behind her rotated rapidly as she pushed hard.

Louise looked back at an office upstairs and called her roommate.

"Anna, Perry rejected my application again." Louise held her mobile phone between her shoulders and ears, holding a stack of documents and dodging a few pedestrians passing by in a hurry.

"They clearly knew how big the news was, but they didn't dare to pursue the answer." Louise hurriedly held on to the document that almost fell.

Anna sat on the sofa and turned on the TV. The news was broadcasting about a fire in Queens. The firefighters were blocked from entering the residential building downstairs by the debris thrown by residents. Thick black smoke shot straight into the sky from the windows.

Reporters and firefighters downstairs looked worriedly at the building, and could vaguely hear someone shouting for help.

The reporter stood in front of the camera and frowned and said quickly: "We are currently live broadcasting a sudden fire in Queens. We don't yet know what caused the fire."

The reporter turned around and looked at the residential building, pointed to a window and said: "Currently we can see that the firefighters are waiting for the ladder to arrive. It seems that there are still residents in the building who have not evacuated."

The firefighters nearby came to drive the reporter away, but the reporter resisted and continued to say something to the camera.

The photographer did not turn the lens on the reporter, but pointed the camera on the sky.

A black and red blurry figure flew over from the sky and rushed into the residential building.

Half a minute later, Clark floated out of the window holding an old man in his arms, and the thick smoke in the residential building also became smaller.

Clark slowly carried the old man to the ground and handed the old man to the firefighters.

Anna sat on the sofa, painted her right foot with nail polish, tilted her head and held the phone, "Your treasure just saved the world again. His black hair is so sexy."

Louise stopped in the street, "Wait, where is he?"

Anna raised her head and glanced at the TV, "In Queens, do you remember that there was a particularly terrible coffee shop?"

Louise threw the document into the passenger seat, put the car in gear and stepped on the accelerator. "I'll be there right away"

Clark smiled brightly at the firefighter and was about to take off when he suddenly heard a sound coming from the walkie-talkie of the policeman next to him.

"Team B, Team B, where are you? A bank in Brooklyn has been robbed. Come to support."

Clark shrugged to the police in the air, "I'll go first." After saying that, he flew straight up, found the direction of Brooklyn in the air, and accelerated.

The two police officers looked at each other and watched Clark disappear with a sonic boom, get into a police car and rush to Brooklyn.

Anna painted her nails and said to Louise: "He's gone to Brooklyn now, come on Louise."

Louise drove her car and passed several cars in front of her. After hearing Anna's words, she took advantage of the green light and made a sharp turn towards Brooklyn.

......

Brooklyn, a bank.

A hooded robber held an AK with one hand and fired several shots at the ceiling, then pointed the gun at the civilians squatting in the bank.

"Squat all down and within 3 minutes I will see my bag filled with money."

The bank clerk behind the bulletproof glass tremblingly picked up the bag and went to the bank to put money inside. More than 20 civilians squatted on the ground holding their heads and did not dare to raise their heads.

The revolving door of the bank suddenly spun rapidly. The three robbers raised their guns and pointed at the door, but saw nothing. The revolving door spun like a windmill blown by a strong wind.

"I think you may not have these three minutes." A voice suddenly sounded from behind the three of them.

Several robbers were so panicked that the guns in their hands almost went off. The three robbers quickly turned around and pointed at the place where someone had just spoken.

A dark-haired man wearing tight clothes and a red cloak stood in the middle of the bank looking at the three robbers.

"Dr. Manhattan," a squatting little boy suddenly said. The little boy's mother quickly covered the little boy's mouth and pulled him behind her.

A robber suddenly raised his hands, and the gun in his hand was hung by the gun belt around his neck and across his chest.

"I surrender, I was forced by them"

The robber standing in the middle continued to point his gun at Clark and shouted angrily at the surrendering robber: "Jack, what are you doing? Put the gun up."

When the robber with his hands raised heard this, he slowly bent down and put the hanging gun on the ground. He gently kicked it aside and then squatted down consciously with his head in his hands.

Jack lowered his head and persuaded the robber in the middle, "Surrender, Harry, haven't you seen the news? That's Dr. Manhattan?"

Harry had sweat breaking out on his head and looked at Clark nervously, the gun in his hand still pointed at Clark.

Clark walked closer to the two robbers.

"Don't come over here" Harry shouted in response.

Clark continued to approach.

"Go to hell monster" Harry and the robber next to him suddenly opened fire.

The bullet hit Clark, and the bullet was flattened and fell to the ground. The sound of the bullet falling on the bank floor was clear and sweet.

Jack squatted on the ground and secretly looked up at Clark. He clearly saw the bullet hitting Clark's face and then falling. He quickly lowered his head and did not dare to look again. He was glad that he did not resist. This is not something that humans can fight against.

Clark walked up to Harry and the two, and used a little force with his hands to break the barrel of the gun to [-] degrees. He ignored the two's struggles and tied the two of them to the pillar of the bank with their gun belts, and then tied the two of them to the pillar of the bank. The hood is still on the side.

Clark came to Jack, and Jack very consciously took off his hood and handed Clark a gun belt. Clark wordlessly tied Jack to a chair in the bank.

Clark walked to the bank entrance, opened the doors on both sides of the revolving door and walked out.

The policeman with guns outside the door was stunned when he saw Clark walking out. The police sergeant who had just taken out his loudspeaker and was about to communicate with the robber put down his loudspeaker and looked at Clark, who was also stunned, not knowing what to do.

Clark walked up to the Sheriff and saluted, "Thanks to the Sheriff, I subdued the three robbers inside and there were no explosives."

The police chief shook Clark's hand blankly, "No matter where you are, it's not hard at all."

Clark looked at the dozen or so police officers around him who nodded in greeting, floated up, and prepared to leave.

The Sheriff sent people into the bank to bring out the robbers.

......

A woman suddenly slipped out from under the police cordon and rushed toward Clark. The woman ran while holding a recording pen.

"Hello Dr. Manhattan, I am Louise, a reporter from the Daily Planet. Can you answer a few questions for me? It only takes a few minutes." Louise panted, holding up the recorder and looking at Clark pleadingly.

Clark had been interviewed several times before. After thinking about it, he floated down to the ground and said, "Okay, do you have any questions?"

Lois glanced at Clark gratefully and calmed her breathing.

"How do you think you can solve problems faster than the police?"

Clark said with a smile: "The police are undoubtedly experts in maintaining urban security, but just like Captain America and Iron Man, there are many individuals in this world who have more power like me. If we have the spare capacity and willingness, we can contribute to urban security. Of course it is a good thing to do your part, but the prerequisite is to ensure that no lynching is used and to cooperate with the police."

"But we see that the police always arrive after you solve the problem, and it doesn't seem to have any effect."

Clark said seriously: "The role of the police cannot be ignored. I am just faster than them. Whether it is taking in criminals, investigating the cause or maintaining the scene, these all require the power of the police."

"Do you have a cooperative relationship with the New York City Police?"

Clark nodded, "Yes, I have a cooperative relationship with the New York City Government. In fact, I often meet with the New York City Police Commissioner."

"What do you think of some people who worry that you will become an uncontrollable force like Iron Man? You know there are always people on the Internet who think you might fly into the White House and kidnap the president one day."

Clark smiled and shook his head, "The president knows my identity, and I said my actions were officially allowed. As for Iron Man, I don't think a billionaire would be bored enough to kidnap the president."

Lois looked at Clark, "Last question, could you please give a special interview? I think people don't know enough about you."

Lois looked into Clark's eyes sincerely.

Clark looked at the female reporter. The female reporter's questions were all very professional. Clark also felt that maybe the public should know more about him, so that no one would always be afraid of him.

Clark nodded, "Okay, you decide the time and place."

"Thank you, thank you very much" Louise thanked her excitedly, "Is it okay to be on the rooftop of Daily Planet tomorrow night?"

Clark floated up, left a "yes" and flew away with a bang.

Louise's hair was blown away by the strong wind. Louise raised her hands to adjust her hair. Suddenly the phone rang, and Louise answered the call.

"Well done, Louise. I knew you could do it. Come back soon. You are the editor-in-chief now." Perry's voice on the other side of the phone was very excited.
