All things are three at Hogwarts
Chapter 184 The Mystery of the Tunnel (Revised)
After hearing Ron's words, Allen quickly looked around. The entire platform was empty except for the three of them.
"Look, there's a door over there." Allen pointed to a short doorway.
"Maybe they were inside the door and kept silent to scare us." Ron said expectantly, "Maybe it was George's attention."
This sounds very reasonable. The three people walked towards the doorway, and the girl in white followed closely behind Allen.
"Really, Bill repeatedly stressed that we should stay together, but now they are making such a joke!" Ron felt angry.
Allen didn't answer. He would rather Ron's guess was true. It was just a joke that the three of them were left on the platform.
Ron got through the door first and froze on the spot.
Allen followed closely behind. Behind the door was a long and winding tunnel with no sign of anyone.
"Mom, Dad, where are you?" Ron's horrified voice echoed loudly in the tunnel.
But no one answered him.
"Hey! Where are you?" Ron put his hands to his mouth to make a trumpet shape, and his shout echoed in the tunnel.
Still no answer.
"Maybe they are around the corner. They must be hiding, waiting to see what we do." Ron comforted Allen and himself.
But no one responded to him. Allen used his wand to illuminate the tunnel wall, and was lost in thought at the murals on the wall.
"Okay, I know, this must be another clumsy trick by George and the others to scare me."
Seeing Allen ignoring him, Ron explained to the girl in white.
"No!" The girl in white quickly braided her long hair into a braid, revealing her delicate facial features.
Ron was almost fascinated as he watched her nimble white fingers threading their way through her golden hair.
When she finished her action and tilted her head to look at Ron suspiciously, Ron came back to his senses.
"Hey, what are you talking about?" Ron asked, almost forgetting what he had said before.
"This is not a prank. Also, my name is not Hey, my name is Nancy." Nancy frowned dissatisfied.
"Ah, Nancy, what a name!" Ron praised.
"Nancy is right, we are indeed lost." Alan ended his observation and walked over.
"What did you find?" Ron asked curiously.
"I think we have entered a cemetery that has never been visited before," Alan replied.
"Ha, that's great! If we go out, we might be rewarded with a lot of gold galleons!" Ron clapped his hands excitedly.
"You can go out first and then talk!" Nancy said disdainfully.
Ron ignored Nancy, followed Allen's example, cast a fluorescent spell, and observed the tunnel walls.
"Is this a new type of flashlight? It's too long!" Nancy looked at Ron's wand curiously and moved closer.
Allen continued to explore along the tunnel.
The walls of the tomb passage are carved with many ancient murals and ancient Egyptian texts.
The layout of these murals is clear and lively, and the content is rich.
There are farmers working in the fields, harvesters carrying grain on their shoulders, hunters drawing bows and shooting arrows, and there are scenes of boating competitions on the river.
But some murals express confusing meanings, such as people who look like butchers, people dancing, and people holding a bundle of cloth.
What are these people doing? Their behavior is very strange.
The most eye-catching thing is a figure painting in which a man and a woman are facing the east. The man is in front, with a majestic expression and a strong figure; the woman is in the back, with a peaceful expression and a plump body.
In each of their hands they held a thick staff, engraved with precious stones.
Allen had some guesses about this painting. Maybe it was the wand of an ancient Egyptian wizard?
It is incredible to Allen that these murals have been preserved so completely after thousands of years.
But at the same time, he also confirmed that no one had set foot here yet.
Otherwise, these beautiful murals must have long since ceased to exist.
"It's incredible! These murals are so beautiful!" Ron sighed and caught up with Allen.
Nancy trotted after him.
Unknowingly, Allen and the others had gone far along the tunnel extending to the right.
The floor began to slope upward, and the air was very dry and gave off a musty smell.
"This is so exciting!" Nancy said as they turned a corner.
Allen felt it was necessary to get acquainted with this girl who was so frightened that she screamed before.
"Sapphires, rubies, emeralds... maybe I can also wear a jewelry crown worn by ancient Egyptian princesses!" Nancy whispered.
"Alan, do you think there will be mummies in the tomb?" Ron was more interested in mummies.
"Of course there will be! Since this tomb has not been discovered yet, there must be mummies." Allen answered affirmatively.
"Do you only have mummies on your mind?" Nancy grimaced in disgust.
"That's right, after all, we are in an ancient Egyptian pyramid!" Ron retorted.
"There may be millions of pounds of jewelry and antiques in this tomb," Nancy accused Ron, "but you're thinking about a horrible mummy!"
"What do you, a Muggle, know!" Ron retorted angrily.
"Muggle? What nonsense is this? You are a Muggle." Nancy also became angry. She thought Ron was scolding her in words she couldn't understand.
"I think, don't be too happy yet. It is necessary to be vigilant at all times. Ron is right. There will definitely be mummies in such a tomb, and there may be other unknown dangers." Allen said rationally explain.
At this time, Allen heard a voice and stopped.
"Did you hear anything?" Alan asked.
"No." Ron and Nancy said in unison, looking confused.
Alan listened carefully.
But the voice disappeared again.
"Did I hear it wrong?"
Allen clenched his wand and walked towards the front of the tunnel again.
They turned the corner. The tunnel became narrower and narrower, and the walls on both sides seemed to be pressing in on them.
The ground is harder and less sandy.
In the dim light, Allen found two forks suddenly appeared in front of the tunnel, and he stopped again.
"Which way should we go?" Ron asked doubtfully.
Allen ran into the tunnel on the left and used the light from his wand to quickly illuminate the walls on both sides.
Then he quickly retreated and stepped into the tunnel on the right.
Ron and Nancy followed Alan stupidly, not knowing why.
"The murals in the left tunnel are of Muggle life, and the murals in the right tunnel are of wizards." Allen explained softly.
"We are wizards, we should go to the right."
Allen's reasons are strong and simple.
tunnel maze
There may be hundreds or even thousands of tunnels in the pyramid, and no one except the designer can tell which one should be taken!
