Hogwarts White Knight

Chapter 33 Lumos and the Inferi

Being stared at by dozens of eyes in an instant, Gawain could only stand up and hold the wand in his hand.

"lumos"

A silver ball of light appeared at the top of his wand, shining brightly.

This is an extremely standard fluorescent flash, just like the one used by Professor Flitwick, no more, no less.

"Yes, just like this, 3 points for Gryffindor! Maybe Mr. White, you can make some interesting changes to it, for more points?"

Professor Flitwick clapped gently and looked at Gawain with appreciation.

It is difficult for anyone to refuse such expectations.

Of course Gawain can't either.

"lumos maxima."

His wrist shook, and he saw the silver ball of light detaching from the top of his wand, roaming in the air, and its brightness continued to get brighter. But in just a few breaths, it became as dazzling as the sun as it stayed above the classroom.

"Excellent! Five points for Gryffindor! As you can see, Mr. White has mastered many advanced skills of this spell. If any of you can successfully cast the Lighting Spell before the end of this class, you will be able to cast it in the next class. I will teach you some of this knowledge in class!”

Professor Flitwick smiled with satisfaction and signaled to Gawain that he could put away his wand.

With this encouragement, everyone became much more motivated, and everyone suppressed their faces to turn red, as if they wanted to improve the success rate a little bit in this way.

"Mr. White, that's a very good technique. I noticed that you divided it into three stages to complete them separately?"

Professor Flitwick came to Gawain's side, stepped on a low chair and said.

"Yes, but it will be very difficult to do so."

Gawain nodded and expressed his doubts.

"What you need to do is set a few anchors for yourself, which are habits of thinking, kid. They will relieve you of a lot of pressure."

Professor Flitwick picked up his wand and began to show Gawain his skills.

He is worthy of being the headmaster of Ravenclaw Academy, a former magic genius, and many of the techniques taught by him have benefited Gawain a lot.

The class passed quickly, but only three people in the class, Hermione and two girls from Ravenclaw, successfully released a stable light spell. Professor Flitwick also added 3 points for each of them.

However, Seamus successfully broke through the theoretical limits of the Light Spell - he invented the Fire Spell and successfully lit his own eyebrows.

"Damn Merlin's boots, that's just a harmless fluorescent flash!"

Gawain was afraid that this year he would never forget Professor Flitwick's incredible expression when he saw a line of flame coming out of the tip of Seamus' wand and then exploding.

After a Tuesday full of classes, Gao Wen and the others welcomed Wednesday, which was also full of classes.

Last night, he also drank the Living Hell Decoction.

This time the potion worked just as it was supposed to, allowing Gawain to sleep easily until morning, until he was shaken awake by Neville.

But the auditorium seemed particularly lively this morning.

"I dare say that Professor Quirrell will definitely teach us some magical spells, such as how to expel vampires. He looks like someone who has experienced things, right?"

As soon as Gawain came in, he heard Seamus Finnigan speaking loudly at the long table.

"Through garlic? Or that scarf of his? I wish he could teach us some practical spells, like Professor Flitwick did!"

Ron shook his head and forked a piece of scrambled eggs.

"Senior, is that so?"

Gawain asked Angelina on the side, the third grade had already taken the Defense Against the Dark Arts class yesterday.

"How can I put it...if I were you, I wouldn't have high expectations."

She shook her head handsomely, said goodbye to Gawain, and sat next to the third graders.

; But Gawain soon understood what she meant.

——Professor Quirrell's class almost became a joke.

The classroom where he teaches is located in the corner of the third floor and is filled with the smell of garlic.

Everyone speculated that this was to drive away a vampire he met in Romania, fearing that the vampire would come back to get him.

Regarding the scarf he has always wrapped around his head, Professor Quirrell explained that it was a gift given to him by an African prince because he helped the prince get rid of the entanglement of the resurrected zombies.

But that's not so much African as it is...Central European. Gawain had seen similar patterns in the brochure of the Horror Tour of the Weird Travel Agency in Diagon Alley.

"It seems like the one about renting the vampire castle in Tesvenia?"

Gawain recalled, but the impression was not too deep.

However, everyone seems to be convinced of one point, that is, Professor Quirrell's attainments in magic are difficult to compare with Professor Flitwick.

He spent the whole class talking about how he helped the prince get rid of the zombies, but when Seamus Finnigan impatiently asked Professor Quirrell how he defeated the zombies, his face turned red. He was vague and turned to the weather.

Throughout the entire class, they didn't learn a single spell.

"I guess he must have heard this story from somewhere and has never experienced it himself."

After class, Professor Quirrell left the side door next to the classroom, and Ron whispered to the Gryffindor students.

Dean and Seamus both nodded in agreement, and even Neville hesitated.

"Maybe Professor he just... wasn't in the zone."

Even Hermione's defense seemed so weak.

But Gawain felt a little inexplicably awkward.

Professor Quirrell described the process of defeating the resurrected zombies very briefly, but he used very vivid and realistic language to describe the cave where he found the resurrected zombies.

——"It's very humid there. It's obviously summer, but it's so cold that I want to wrap up my robe tightly. The dirty black ground is engraved with black magic spells, and it's also sprinkled with solidified blood. The tall pale candles have already Extinguish."

"Maybe what the professor said is true?"

He whispered, looking at his notebook.

"Resurrection Zombie"

A twisted existence created by the curse of black magic, without life or soul, just a controlled corpse.

It needs to be evoked through well-prepared rituals and specific incantations.

Not afraid of swords, likes cold and damp places, moves quietly, is afraid of fire and light.

Can confuse people's hearts, possess and control the body.

In the end, they were all trapped in the cave with a spell called "Burning Flame". "

Coincidentally, Gawain had seen very similar records in the History of Modern Magic annotated by Dumbledore before, but that was a failed coup that occurred in Albania a few years ago.

It is said that if it were not for the emergency intervention of the International Federation of Wizards, the coup would have been almost successful.

But that monster's name isn't a zombie.

But the Inferi.

ps1: Seamus, the Messenger of Justice, always has to explode, doesn't he?

ps2: The original work mentioned that Professor Quirrell suddenly put on that big scarf after returning from Albania, so he probably bought it there. The garlic was used to cover up the rotten smell of the seven equal parts. It is unlikely that it was encountered in Africa. of resurrected zombies.

ps3: I personally think that the story is probably not fabricated, but just changed the camp (seven equal parts summoned the Inferi, failed to seize the body, but met the dumbfounded Quirrell. Otherwise, it would be almost impossible for the stuttering Quirrell Thinking of adventure stories) with a seventh-level arrogant character, doing this is tantamount to slapping Dumbledore in the face, and he will probably do it.

Although Rowling loves books, she rarely writes useless details.

ps4: The information about the Inferi comes from Part
