In today's world, people's livelihood is poor, seeing the sad faces of the people, Xuanzang is also full of heavy heart, only less than [-] miles away from the Buddhist temple, he gave all the money and dry food in the parcel to the poor families.

However, alone, he can help the people for a while, but what about tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow?

With a depressed heart, Xuanzang went all the way for alms. He originally wanted to go to Jingtu Temple in Dongjun to exchange Buddhism, but affected by the war, he had to detour to Amitabha Temple in Yuzhou.

The young eminent monk’s proficiency in Buddhism shocked all the monks in the Amitabha Temple. Except for the old abbot, no one could surpass Xuanzang’s Zen principles. Xuanzang also realized his own shortcomings during this exchange. After studying Buddhism in the Amitabha Temple for half a year , even the old abbot is no longer his opponent.

Following the map, Xuanzang visited various temples in the Sui Kingdom.

Everywhere he goes, he will testify, exchange, and learn Buddhism with local eminent monks and great virtues. With this perseverance, Xuanzang's Buddhism has become famous in the Sui Dynasty in just a few years. Although he is young, he has He already has the qualifications to write scriptures and lecture on Buddhism.

However, Xuanzang was still dissatisfied. He felt that there was still a lot of room for improvement in his Dharma. However, within the territory of the Sui Kingdom, there were no great virtues who could teach him the truth. This made Xuanzang very distressed.

But what is even more distressing is that Princess Xiliang is here again.

As the years passed, Jia Ruo grew more and more beautiful, like a mortal fairy, and she was always admired wherever she went.

According to the law of Xiliang, a girl can marry at the age of 12, but Jiaruo is already 19 years old, but has not yet married, Xuanzang does not believe that such a beautiful woman will worry about getting married.

"Stupid monk, I'm not married, and I'm waiting for you to come to Xiliang to propose marriage!"

Looking at the clear eyes on Xuanzang's handsome and handsome face, Jia Ruo blushed.

"I'm a monk..."

"Here it is again. You will be your monk. I will go my way and it will not affect you. Anyway, this time, you will never get rid of me again."

Xuanzang's eyes were half closed, he was silently reciting Buddhist scriptures, he didn't dare to look at Jiaruo again, the tenderness of the prince and daughter, invisible and formless, made his firm Zen heart tremble.

This encounter, just as Jiaruo said, no matter where Xuanzang goes, she will always be by his side.

On the mighty avenue, a spotless monk in white clothes and a beautiful princess from a foreign country, the two of them walking together attracted the attention of many people.

……

197 After a long time.

Xuanzang returned to his hometown, but the villagers at the foot of the mountain showed mournful expressions after recognizing him.

Xuanzang was puzzled by the strangeness of the people. He asked for details, but got a sad news that made his body tremble and was unbearable.

The old monk died, not at the end of his life, but by being burned alive!

The Sui Kingdom was vast, and letters were difficult to distribute. In addition, Xuanzang had been studying everywhere in recent years, so he didn't know that the government and the opposition were in turmoil.

In order to provide for the war, various anti-kings began to force the people to hand in food, but these years of floods and disasters, the people did not have much food in their hands.

The old monk couldn't bear to go hungry, so he broke open the merit box, distributed the incense money to the villagers, and asked them to go to other cities and counties to buy food with a lot of money, but how much food could be bought with the incense money, the old monk hesitated for a long time, and asked the men at the foot of the mountain With an axe, split the bronze Buddha statue, and the golden body of the Buddha went to exchange food with others.

But the day failed, and after the rebels retreated, they returned here. Seeing that the villagers still had food left to live on, and remembering what the villagers had said before, they felt cheated and shouted angrily to burn the villagers to death.

The old monk was afraid of rebelling against the king and questioning everyone, so he quickly explained the reason, and was willing to hand over the remaining food, and set himself on fire to appease the wrath of the rebellion against the king.

In the raging fire, the old monk died.

After the fire dissipated, the villagers held up the ashes of the old monk with tears in their hands. In the warm ashes, several relics exuded a radiant glow. .

Chapter 657

A ruined temple, two monks, one old and one young.

In Xuanzang's heart, the old monk was like a teacher like a father. When he suddenly heard the sad news that he was burned to death, Xuanzang's body trembled and he almost fell down.

With Jia Ruo's support, he returned to the temple.

The Jingtuoshan Temple, which used to be full of people and pilgrims, has become a deserted temple with the outbreak of war.

Three days passed, Xuanzang sat on the stone platform, his eyes were full of sadness, but he did not retreat.

Jia Ruo wanted to help him, but he didn't know how to appease him.

"At least I'm still by your side, as long as I'm still in this world, I will never leave you!"

Hu Ji is bold and unrestrained, sincere and passionate. When Xuanzang was sinking in grief, Jia Ruo hugged her into her arms.

The warm fragrance entered his nostrils, Xuanzang's eyes widened immediately, and he wanted to break free, but even though Jiaruo was a princess, she practiced a Xiliang secret technique called "Yoga" since she was a child, and she hugged Xuanzang tightly. No matter how much Xuanzang shakes Zang's back, he can't break free. On the contrary, in the process of struggling, the two get closer and closer. Xuanzang doesn't want to fight against this delicate princess anymore, so he embraces her.

Until the sun was setting, Xuanzang was leaning against the stone pillar, and Jiaruo was lying on him in his arms. Under the cool breeze, the two fell asleep in such a shameful posture.

The villagers at the foot of the mountain were afraid that Xuanzang would be overly sad, so they brought some rice, noodles, and vegetable leaves to visit and comfort them. As soon as they entered the temple gate, they saw a scene of a young man and a woman being intimate. Several villagers wisely left food and went down the mountain silently. .

The next day, news of Monk Xuanzang's return to secular life spread to all the villages below the mountain.

Many old people in the village watched Xuanzang grow up. Regarding Xuanzang's return to secular life, they didn't feel that Xuanzang's dust roots were unclean and violated his status as a monk. On the contrary, they were very happy.

After all, in the secular concept, there is nothing more important than passing on the family line. Xuanzang was able to meet a fairy like the princess of Xiliang, which was simply a blessing in his previous life.

For a time, whenever Xuanzang descended the mountain, the faces of the people around him would be filled with meaningful smiles.

Xuanzang deliberately explained, frankly saying that his sleeping with Jiaruo was a misunderstanding, but the villagers said "I understand," but they never sent him and Jiaruo some flowers for nothing. Obviously they still don't get it.

Compared to Xuanzang's troubles, Jia Ruo was overjoyed. Since the afternoon of hugging her, she has become more and more daring. Not only did she get closer and closer to Xuanzang, she even sometimes walked on the street. He suddenly took his hand, held it tightly, and never let go, adding the authenticity of "Xuanzang's return to vulgarity" to the villagers with his own actions.

……

The ruined temple in the mountains, when I saw the holy monk for the first time, I was shocked and confused.

Those who get Xuanzang's true heart can realize their wishes. Jiaruo also had that strange dream, and it was precisely because of this strange dream that she was attracted to Jingtuo Temple in the Sui Kingdom from the distant Xiliang.

Originally wanted to see what was so strange about Xuanzang, but when he saw the commoner monk blinking his big eyes and pouring out his very simple wish to her, Jia Ruo only thought it was very interesting.

The years are long, and both of them are growing up.

The aura on Xuanzang's body did not fade with the passage of time, but became deeper and wider, like fireflies in the dark night, deeply attracting Jia Ruo's eyes, that childhood friendship, I don't know when , Gradually transformed into a feeling of thinking about the king.

Along the way with Xuanzang, the more experiences he experiences, the more Jiaruo can discover Xuanzang's profound wisdom and noble character. He is like a living Buddha, traveling through the troubled times, full of seclusion and extraordinaryness.

After returning to the mountain temple, another two years passed.

In the past two years, Xuanzang went around to help victims of disasters, wading across many states to give lectures on Buddhism, and Jiaruo also used the national power of Xiliang to help him rescue the people in the water and fire.

Until one day, Xuanzang, as if he had changed into a different person, coldly scolded her to leave, telling her not to stay by his side.

Jia Ruo was puzzled, and asked the monk why he was so ruthless all of a sudden.

How did you know that the monk had no expression on his face, and said lightly, "It's all about seeing through." '

Under the watchful eyes of Xiliang soldiers, Xuanzang flicked his sleeves and broke away from Jiaruo's outstretched hand. The unfeeling gesture made Jiaruo very sad.

Recalling the close relationship between the two over the years, and her wish for Xuanzang to return to vulgarity, and Xuanzang also refused at first outright, and then became more hesitant, and she hugged Xuanzang's arm on the street, the monk later also No longer resisting, and even showing care for her inadvertently...

All kinds of things made Jiaruo not believe that there would be such a heartless person in the world. She asked Xuanzang, "If one day I die, will you cry for me'"? "

Xuanzang said no, and Jia Ruo cried sadly, "` ‖You used to cry for so many people, why didn't you cry for me? If you die, I will also cry very sadly."

Xuanzang said: "Because I couldn't see through it before, but now Xuanzang can't see through it."

Jia Ruo cried: "I will cry for you, why don't you cry for me?"

Xuanzang sighed and said: "No wonder the Buddha taught people compassion instead of love. Love in the world is a transaction. If you do this for me, you must ask me to do that for you. The love you think of is just what you think. , the poor monk doesn’t love you, now our fate is over, it’s time to say goodbye.”

After all, Xuanzang cried loudly regardless of Jia Ruo's sorrow, turned his back and walked further and further away until Jia Ruo was never seen again in this life.

……

According to the villagers, the old monk did not utter a scream when he left, and the relics formed after his death were strung together into a string of Buddhist beads by Xuanzang with wooden bodhi, which he always wears on his body.

Xuanzang had a lot of confusion when turning beads to recite Zen, some were puzzled about the scriptures, some were puzzled about the way of the world (Denuo Zhao), and some were puzzled about human nature.

Why did the Buddha tell us how to get rid of reincarnation, but he didn't come to help us get rid of it?

Xuanzang often thinks about these things. Natural disasters and wars, leaving home, and all kinds of things have happened countless times in the torrent of history. Are these sufferings endless reincarnation, or do they also have an end?

"I want to show the Tathagata far away, but I want to leave the Dharma near the light."

In many Buddhist scriptures, it is said that the Buddha is located in the Pure Land of Saha, and the Pure Land of Saha is located in the extreme west of the world. Only those who seek it with sincerity can see the Buddha and realize their ambitions.

Xuanzang believed in Buddhism, and he believed that as long as he could find the Buddha, he would be able to solve the confusion in his heart.

Therefore, Xuanzang planned to travel westward to seek the Dharma, but he had submitted many applications but was still unable to receive a document. In desperation, Xuanzang resolutely made a decision, and he planned to privately travel to the Buddhist kingdom... B.

Chapter 658 Buddha

"Wukong, Bajie, Wujing, Ao Lie..."

On the first night after leaving the border of the Sui Kingdom and sleeping in the wilderness, Xuanzang suddenly had a very absurd dream. In the dream, there were monkeys, pigs, and a monk. They looked fierce, but Xuanzang sat beside them. , not only was not afraid of them at all, but felt very at ease.

When I wake up from the dream, the pigs and monkeys are not there, only the mountains and shadows of trees surround Xuanzang.

Alone with a horse and a horse, he continued westward.

On the way, a female voice was suddenly heard.

"Little monk, long time no see."

The black mist surged, and a coquettish woman in black gauze appeared. Xuanzang stared at her, and suddenly remembered the banshee he met in the small ruined temple when he was a child. The appearance of the demon is the same as when I first saw it, and it hasn't changed at all.

"I have seen the benefactor." Xuanzang said.

Unable to see the panic on Xuanzang's face, the banshee felt rather bored, she said with a smile, "I saw everything when you parted with Princess Xiliang."

The banshee saw it, and saw that the monk said that the fate was over, but she turned her back and heard the cry of Princess Xiliang, but she bit her lip in pain until her mouth was full of blood, and she didn't dare to turn around and turn back. Look at the princess.

It seems that not only women like duplicity, but also men.

Xuanzang was not afraid of this banshee when he was a child, but now he has traveled around the world and learned a lot, and he is not afraid of this fairy. He asked the banshee, what happened?

"Just show your sincerity."

The banshee said bluntly that in her early years she was ignorant of merit and karma, and in order to improve her cultivation, she slaughtered wantonly, resulting in deep resentment in her body. Ten years ago, she felt that the catastrophe was approaching, and she came up with the idea of using Xuanzang's sincerity to overcome the catastrophe. However, in recent years, hard work has yielded no results, and he realized that he might not be able to pass this hurdle on his own, so he searched for Xuanzang's whereabouts like the princess of Xiliang.

But different from the princess, the banshee does not seek Xuanzang's love, but only wants his sincere wish to "become a fairy".

"I don't like you, even if you dig out my heart, it's not true." Xuanzang shook his head and sighed.

Hearing this, the banshee laughed, "I have my own way to get my true heart."

It turns out that the banshee has heard a secret method in these years. It is said that people who are about to die have good words. As long as Xuanzang said "love her" when he was dying, it would also have a wonderful fruit of sincerity.

"Let's make a deal. There are many dangers and obstacles on the westward journey. I can be the guard to protect you from the beasts and thieves. But if you don't have the chance to see the Buddha yourself and fall halfway, I only hope that you can keep your promise and say love me."

Xuanzang thought about the banshee's proposal for a while, then nodded in agreement.

……

……

The old monk said that the world is like a sea of bitterness, and it is difficult to get over others, but it is also difficult to get over yourself.

Xuanzang asked: Wouldn't it be useless to focus on the Buddhadharma?

The old monk said with a smile: In countless lives and countless worlds, we who have sunk in the sea of suffering have nowhere to go, but what we can do is to have a bright heart, do good deeds every day, and be worthy of ourselves and others. To be able to do these is to practice , is good, wonderful.

During the time of war, Xuanzang was attacked by thieves and bandits on his journey to the west. Fortunately, the banshee protected him so that he was safe.

The banshee wanted to kill those thieves, but Xuanzang refused, saying: "They are also made by the world, and I have no choice but to kill them, which will make the already heavy karma even heavier."

"They hurt you, but you let them go?"

Xuanzang's pedantry made the banshee speechless. After she said "the monk is not as cute as a child when he grows up", it turned into a black wind and slipped into Xuanzang's pocket.

Demons walk in the world and have their own scruples.

If you don't practice Taoism, monsters full of sin karma can only be active at night and walk during the day. It's okay for a short time, but once a long time, the sun in the sky will hurt the god of Yin, so you must find a shady place that does not see the sun. land, in order to be safe and sound.

Wind and sun, snow and ice.

All the way to the west, Xuanzang, who did not pass the customs clearance certificate, took every step with surprise. With devotion to the Buddha, he traveled westward across the snow-capped mountains, stepped on the grasslands, walked in the wilderness, followed silver trails, and tortured human nature, to the lonely city, Dissecting the loess, heart (ajai) sand world, walking by fire, enlightening the Dharma, shocking the canyon, stalking the iron gate, entering the chess game, Wangshe City, Taoist walk, standing snow mountain, frozen bones, viewing holy objects, preaching field, watching Buddha Bone, Grottoes, Hundred-foot Reclining Buddha, Shecong Ridge, Mihei Ridge, Hangal Blue, Sutra Debate, Mountains and Seas, Buddha Light and Shadow, Heart World, Fallen Dust...

The horse had already collapsed on the way, so Xuanzang started on the road barefoot.

During this lonely westward journey, the banshee often asked him various questions, "You always worship Buddha, but the Buddha made of clay is a Buddha, the Buddha made of bronze is also a Buddha, and the Buddha covered with gold leaf is still a Buddha. Which one is it?" Is it the real Buddha?"

Xuanzang said: "Worshiping Buddha is not a Buddha statue, but the Buddha in everyone's heart. As long as there is a Buddha in your heart, everything is a Buddha."

The banshee laughed, "Well, everything is a Buddha, do you think I am a Buddha?"

Xuanzang said, "Yes."

After walking together for a long time, the banshee certainly knew the purpose of Xuanzang's westward journey, and she couldn't help laughing, "What a stupid monk, I have killed countless people and committed many evils. In your eyes, can I become a Buddha?"

Without waiting for Xuanzang to speak, the banshee continued, "The book was written by a person, and it said that the Buddha was located in the Pure Land of Posa. Is this a memoir after people saw the Buddha, or was it a fiction after the book? Just like you insisted on traveling westward. Are you really seeking the Buddha, or are you caught in a demonic obstacle of seeking the Buddha?"

The banshee's words made Xuanzang fall into deep thought, but even so, he never stopped.

……

The banshee is like a demon in her heart, always whispering shaky words in Xuanzang's ear, but Xuanzang's heart is firm and resolute, and he has long been unmoved by anything.
