Chapter 6 Apprenticeship to Bodhi

What is Xianfeng Daogu?

The Bodhi Patriarch in front of him is!

The whole body has its own aura, and it can be seen for thousands of years, and it will forget the vulgarity.

When the monkey saw it, he fell down and bowed down, kowtowed countless times, and said straightly, "Master, master, my disciple is determined to pay respects, and his determination is to pay respects!"

The monkeys kowtowed countless times, and Qin Yun didn't want to be compared by the monkeys because of this, and because of the details, he missed the fairy fate.

Monkey fights for quantity, so he can only rely on quality.

As for kowtowing...

Heaven and earth, relatives and teachers, it is also necessary to pay homage.

Qin Yun was Zheng and Zheng immediately, and sincerely paid homage to Bodhi.

One prostration, two prostrations, three prostrations, every prostration is thoughtful and sincere.

Patriarch Bodhi saw Qin Yun and the monkey kowtow to worship the teacher in different ways, and couldn't stop looking at the one and the monkey.

Monkey is not bad, and he is destined to have a mentor-student relationship with him.

But Qin Yun... What a profound merit!

If you don't look at it, you don't know, even the Patriarch was surprised when you looked closely.

Looking at Qin Yun's face and bone age, it is only two decades old, how can he accumulate such merit?

Outside Qin Yun's body, he could faintly see the light of merit!

Amazing!

Weird!

However, having this kind of merit can be regarded as a profound blessing, and it doesn't matter if you are under the family.

Patriarch Bodhi looked at Qin Yun, "Which side are you from? Let me know your name and name, and I will worship again."

Qin Yun hurriedly replied, "My disciple's surname is Qin Mingyun. He is from the Great Yan Kingdom in Nanbuzhou, and he was born in the Qin family of the Lu Kingdom... This disciple sincerely practices, and I hope that Patriarch will take him in."

Patriarch Bodhi: "Qin Yun, since you can enter my mountain gate, it means that you have a predestined relationship with me, and it is all right to accept you as a disciple."

Hearing the words of the patriarch, how could Qin Yun not know that he had already succeeded in apprenticeship?

"Disciple, pay homage to Master."

Qin Yun was overjoyed, and hurriedly bowed again to Patriarch Bodhi to thank him.

Patriarch Bodhi nodded and said, "Good. Let's get up first, find a seat and sit down!"

Qin Yun: "Master, this is the Shu Xiu prepared by the disciple. I hope the master will accept it with a smile."

"Oh?"

Patriarch Bodhi knew all kinds of schools, so he was no stranger to Shuxiu.

But he has always been detached, and what he pays attention to in accepting apprentices is a "fate".

There is really no requirement for Shu Xiu.

Yes, yes; no, yes.

Hearing that Qin Yun had Shu Xiu on his side, the patriarch inevitably had a better impression of Qin Yun.

This is the truth that cannot be passed on lightly!

However, what is the identity of Patriarch Bodhi?

As long as he wants it, what treasure in the world can't he get?

As for Qin Yun's Shuxiu, the Patriarch just took pleasure in it and didn't take it too seriously.

Qin Yun unpacked the bag and took out a painting.

"Master, this painting is made by the disciple, and the material used is made by the disciple. The disciple named it: paper."

Seeing that he had successfully aroused the interest of Patriarch Bodhi, Qin Yun hurriedly presented the painting with winking eyes.

"Paper? Interesting!"

Patriarch Bodhi saw the great value of paper with just one glance.

Having this piece of paper is of great significance to the inheritance of civilization.

As for writing and drawing on paper, that is even more elegant.

At this point, the Patriarch also understood why he possessed such great merit at such a young age.

"Huh? This character... is quite different from the popular characters nowadays, but it is round and round, and it is a wonderful pen, a good character!"

"Bodhi doesn't have a tree, and a bright mirror is not a stand. There is nothing in the first place, where can the dust be gathered... Miaomiaomiao!"

Patriarch Bodhi knew all the three religions of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism, but he had a profound knowledge of the three vehicles of Buddhism.

The monkey practiced under the Bodhi Patriarch for ten years, and he was even able to point out the scriptures of the Tang monk when he learned the scriptures.

The Tang Monk worshiped "Left Monk Gang, Right Monk Gang, The Great Explanation of the Capital Monk Gang", and he was the most accomplished in the Tang Dynasty in terms of Jingyi, but Wukong was able to guide Tang Monk.

The disciples are all so powerful, one can imagine how profound the master Bodhi is in Buddhism.

The moment he saw this Buddhist gatha, Bodhi realized the Zen meaning explained in it, and the more he realized it, the more subtle it was.

For a while, I couldn't put it down for this painting!

The patriarch smiled in satisfaction, "You have a heart, and you made this poem?"

Qin Yun: "I don't dare to lie. This poem was sung by a stranger when I was young. I felt that the artistic conception was lofty, so I wrote it down."

The patriarch nodded, very satisfied with Qin Yun's "honesty".

Think about it, too, this poem is wonderful, without profound Buddhist cultivation, I really can't compose it.

Qin Yun hit the iron while it was hot, and said, "Patriarch, these are brushes, ink, paper and inkstones, which my disciples call the 'Four Treasures of the Study'; this is 'green tea', which is picked by my disciples from the tea tree after the spring rain and roasted by myself..."

"good."

Patriarch Bodhi was very satisfied and asked the boy to accept Shuxiu.

Qin Yun stood aside in a very sensible way!

The patriarch nodded, looked at the impatient monkey who had been waiting for a long time, and asked, "Who is your surname, and where is it from?"

Seeing that the patriarch finally asked himself, the monkey was busy imitating Qin Yun's appearance, kowtowing and offering Shuxiu.

Seeing the monkeys presenting some hand-made dried fruits, graffiti, and some gifts prepared by Qin Yun, whether it was the Bodhi Patriarch or the many little fairy attendants, they all burst into laughter.

Soon, everyone also saw that the monkey was not as shrewd as Qin Yun, but he was better than "the heart of a child", and he was sincere in worshiping the teacher, and was recognized by the ancestor.

Behind is the bridge section that Qin Yun is very familiar with. The patriarch patiently named the monkey "Sun Wukong".

It is:

At the beginning of Hongmeng, there was no surname, and Wukong was needed to break the obstinacy.

Seeing that the patriarch named the monkey, Qin Yun suddenly felt a hidden worry - the patriarch did not give him a name!

Don't think it's bad to give a name. The ancients and modern people have very different concepts, and they attach great importance to rules.

In a sense, only after being given a name can one truly succeed in apprenticeship.

Take the monkey as an example, worshiping Bodhi, the ancestor of Bodhi named him "Sun Wukong".

Being crushed on the Five Elements Mountain, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva conquered Wukong and planned to give Wukong a name.

At this time, Wukong disagreed, and said that he had a Dharma name, so he was called "Sun Wukong". Guanyin Bodhisattva heard the word "Wukong" and it happened to be suitable, so he didn't take it again.

It can also be seen from this incident that the monkey at this time did not approve of the name given to him by the Bodhisattva.

There is only one master in his heart, and that is Patriarch Bodhi!

Later, the monkey had a conflict with Avalokitesvara and scolded the Bodhisattva, "It's her fault that she will never have a husband".

The monkey apprenticed to Tang Seng, and the first thing Tang Seng did was to name Wukong. Wukong was still naive at the time, so he said that he had a name and was very satisfied with it.

It can also be seen from this that the monkey actually does not approve of Tang Seng at this time.

Tang Seng was also very satisfied with the word "Wukong". He felt that these two characters were very compatible with Buddhism, but he was still very persistent in giving Wukong the word "Xing Zhe".

The same is true for Zhu Wuneng and Sha Wujing later on. Guanyin Bodhisattva took it, and the two accepted it.

So, facing Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, the two of them performed the disciple salute.

After Tang Seng subdued Wuneng Wujing, he persisted in giving Zhu Wuneng the Dharma name of "Eight Precepts" and Sha Wujing the name of "Monk Sha".

As the saying goes, "Come into my school, follow my rules", and the master is named, and it is considered as a true worship of the teacher.

The patriarch accepted him as a disciple, but did not give him a name... Does this mean that the patriarch did not pass on his true biography?

The patriarch is very capable, but apart from ordinary disciples like Wukong, there are almost no powerful people.

You can't get the true biography, you can only learn some ordinary skills...

Thinking of this, Qin Yun couldn't help feeling an unprecedented sense of crisis in his heart.

Chapter 7 Days in Samsung Cave

Not being named, this made Qin Yun feel a sense of crisis in his heart.

But in Qin Yun's view, a crisis does not mean that there is no opportunity. As long as you give full play to your subjective initiative, you may not be able to complete a counterattack.

As a time traveler, Qin Yun is most proud of being well-informed and quick-witted.

As long as he brushes his face in front of the patriarch from time to time and shows off his talent, maybe the patriarch will change his mind when he is happy.

But what Qin Yun never expected was that the patriarch went to retreat directly after accepting apprentices.

Not to mention brushing your face, you won't see the Patriarch at all.

One day, two days, three days... one month, two months...

blink of an eye.

Half a year had passed since entering the Three Star Cave, and the patriarch hadn't left the customs. Qin Yun's face-scanning plan hadn't started yet, and he was stillborn.

After entering the cave for half a year, Qin Yun's biggest feeling is that there is no sun and moon in his practice!

The longer he stayed in Samsung Cave, the more Qin Yun felt these words.

For mortals, half a year cannot be said to be long, but it is definitely not short, enough to accomplish many things.

But for the gods, this may just be a nap time.

of course.

Although Qin Yun was in a hurry, everything he did was in accordance with the rules of Sanxing Cave, and he did not exceed the rules in the slightest.

Qin Yun didn't want to give Patriarch a bad impression of being "impatient" or "uncontrollable".

Even if the patriarch is retreating, Qin Yun always warns himself.

Qin Yun didn't believe that the patriarch would just let the monkeys go, without paying any attention to them.

After half a year of study and exploration, Qin Yun started to have a good grasp of the organizational structure, knowledge framework, and operating rules of Sanxing Cave.

In other words, the inheritance of knowledge that Qin Yun is most concerned about can actually be subdivided into two parts.

One is the knowledge taught in the scriptures every day, including characters, etiquette, various schools of thought, acrobatics, Taoism, Zen theory, etc., which are basically taught by the senior brothers who have first started.

Unlike the knowledge explosion in later generations, in this day and age, knowledge is monopolized by nobles.

And this knowledge is open to everyone for free in Samsung Cave.

Even if you can't get the true inheritance, just the knowledge you have learned is enough to change the fate of a person or even a family.

Therefore, these scriptures are also extremely popular in Samsung Cave.

To Qin Yun's surprise, all the seniors in Sanxing Cave were basically the most proficient in the teachings of the Three Vehicles of Buddhism.
