Ice and Fire: Reign of the Dragon

Chapter 140: Targaryen's New Dragon

In front of the Dragon Cave Tower, Valar and Rey stood in front of the towering tower gate and stopped Aegon and Ringol. Valar gently embraced his nephew and held Ringol in his arms. Rey looked at Aegon with a serious face: "Your Majesty, if you want to ride a dragon to chase your brother, he has left me instructions. No."

"Why, cousin Rey, Vermax is my brother's dragon, and I am also the patriarch of the Targaryen family and the king of the Seven Kingdoms. I have an obligation to protect the family's dragon." Aegon said somewhat unconvinced. He knew that with Rey and Valar around, he would never be able to ride on Storm Cloud to chase the dragon thief.

"It's because you are the king of the Seven Kingdoms that you can't, Your Majesty." Rey shook his head: "If Tigaro's intelligence is correct, the guys who came to steal the dragon are great nobles of Volantis, and they even hold high positions in the Tiger Party. If Your Majesty kills them in the territory of the Seven Kingdoms as the Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, then if they don't steal the dragon, killing the top leaders of the Volantis Tiger Party will cause a serious diplomatic incident. So, Your Majesty, leave it to your brother." Rey smiled: "After all, he is the one who is least afraid of those bastards in Volantis."

Aegon sat down in front of Rey angrily. He was very smart. He understood what Rey meant as soon as he said it. If he was still a prince, he would have no problem chasing the dragon thief, but he was the king. Although he didn't sit on that iron chair and play with the young people in Dragon Nest City all day, he was still the king. There are things that a king can do and things that he can't do.

"And, Your Majesty, you have other tasks." Ray took out a long piece of parchment: "My brother asked me to give this to you before he left, Your Majesty."

"What is this?" Aegon took the parchment curiously, and was startled by the dense names and emblems on it. Ray smiled and explained: "Sir Stephen Darklyn's ship will arrive at Wine Harbor tomorrow, and he will arrive at Midsummer Hall in three days. Your Majesty, you need seven Kingsguards, but there are only two in this team now. We need to make up the number of white knights."

Aegon glanced at the names again, suddenly stood up, and said seriously: "Uncle Ray, can I let them have a competition? I can pay for the competition." Aegon, who had experienced the Dance of the Dragons, understood that the person who protected him did not have to be a noble with a distinguished background, but must be able to fight. The only criterion for judging whether he could fight was actual combat. Aegon did not want a waste who went to the battlefield and came back. He wanted a real warrior like Jaehaerys I and Aegon I's Kingsguard.

Rey smiled. His elder brother was right. Aegon still had a childish personality, but he also had the maturity and wisdom that they inherited from their brothers. Aegon would definitely organize such a competition to test their true abilities. "As you wish, Your Majesty."

Dragonstone.

Daemon asked several Dragonstone soldiers to lift up Ser Robert Kanes, who was lying exhausted. He followed several dragon guards with cooked meat and carefully walked into the cave where the dragons were said to be hatched.

The dark walls were full of protruding stones and spikes, and there was an unknown liquid flowing strangely. Deep in the cave, there was also red magma flowing quietly.

This place seemed to have been the lair of a wild dragon, and later it was occupied by a giant dragon, leaving behind sticky stuff that looked like dragon dung. There was also dragon dung that had turned into hard stone in the cave, as well as skeletons whose original form could not be identified. The experienced Daemon immediately saw that there had been dragon eggs here, and more than one. Unfortunately, the bulging place where there should be dragon eggs has now deflated, and there are fragments of various shapes scattered around.

It seems that the hatched dragon ate the nearby dragon eggs to survive.

"Which dragon lived here before?" Daemon turned his head and looked at the white-bearded dragon guard on the side. The old dragon guard thought for a while: "It should be Syrax, but Syrax rarely lives here. It lives in the old place most of the time."

Syrax. Daemon suddenly realized that there was no problem. As one of the two dragons in the Targaryen family that laid the most eggs, it was normal for Syrax to not know where he laid a few dragon eggs.

Daemon suddenly stopped moving forward. He heard a faint cry. The old prince bent down and sang an unknown ballad in High Valyrian.

A purple-gold dragon slowly crawled out of the sticky black mud and cried a few times weakly. The black mud slid off its purple-gold scales very smoothly without leaving any trace.

Daemon frowned. It was because this purple-gold dragon looked familiar. The dragon's head was not big, but it had two smooth forked dragon horns. There were exactly eight tentacles hanging from the lower jaw, which made the purple-gold dragon's head look more majestic. But this body looked the same as "Yangyan". But Daemon was relieved soon.

After all, Yangyan was dead, and this dragon symbolized that the dragons of the Targaryen family were slowly reviving.

"Galethos, I named you after the god of fire, stars, moon, sun and dawn." Daemon slowly approached the dragonet, and the dragonet mercilessly spit out a tiny flame, but Daemon dodged it deftly. The dragonet wanted to escape, but was attracted by the meat in the hand of a dragon guard and slowly crawled towards the meat.

"It's a lively little fellow, Dragon Guard. Take it back to the courtyard. When it can breathe fire to kill sheep, load it on a ship and send it to the dragon cave in King's Landing." Daemon was in a good mood and didn't care that he was covered with mud.

When Daemon walked out of the cave, a sharp dragon roar suddenly came from above his head. The old prince looked up and saw Tyrexu screaming angrily and flying south from Dragonstone.

Daemon couldn't help but cover his head. It seemed that the news had reached Tidehead Island. His stepson couldn't sit still. After all, it was his most beloved elder brother's dragon that was being thought of. How could Joffrey not be angry?

Angry Joffrey kept shouting "Hurry up, Tyrexu." The young purple dragon roared and swooped down, allowing Joffrey to carefully observe every passing ship.

Tyrexu suddenly roared, and Joffrey looked up and saw Haiyan roaring at Tyrexu as well. Seeing that Tyrexu did not rush up, the silver-gray beast roared uninterested and flew back to Dragonstone.

Joffrey also saw two warships in front and behind, and the dark shadows gradually becoming clear in the clouds.

Vermithor, flying over Blackwater Bay.
