34. A Thousand Miles to Deliver a Pot (Asking for votes at the beginning of the month~)

From Moriarty’s perspective.

After finishing the troublesome affair with the three old monsters at the Rossiya Empire’s Design Bureau, Professor Moriarty found an excuse to leave Kefir and the others first, then donned her cloak, ready to return to her own office.

In fact, Moriarty felt that she should not, in her capacity as a mentor, allow Kefir to participate in the Rublyanka Academy’s third-year project competition. Not only was Kefir a foreign student, but she also held a legitimate royal kinship within the Great Ying Empire. Perhaps her lineage wasn’t exactly “top-ranked,” but it was certainly far beyond what those hundreds of ranks below Louis XXIII could compare with.

How could she take part in the Rossiya Empire’s project competition, devising strategies to enhance the empire’s national power? At least… even if she had ideas, she couldn’t ultimately prevail and catch the eyes of some high-level Rossiyan officials. Because the project proposed by Kefir… indeed had research value.

Thinking this, Moriarty had already been reserved in assisting Kefir, ensuring that Kefir’s ranking wouldn’t be too low to notice, while avoiding Kefir’s “victory,” and the project entering the eyes of those people at the Design Bureau. However, all these thoughts were too late.

“So you see, these new energy sources are everywhere under the permafrost! They require specialized equipment for extraction.”

“Anyway, it’s definitely not something that can be compared to planting corn or the like!”

Thinking of his statements over the past two days, Moriarty frowned.

Kefir’s fiancé was truly remarkable, not only directly thwarting the aspirations of that Rossiyan student who tried to use connections but even today, alone, he faced the three old men of the Design Bureau and articulated Kefir’s project without losing a beat. Much of the content was known to Moriarty but not told to Kefir, and even… some of it was unknown to Moriarty herself!

Now, Kefir’s victory was a foregone conclusion! After all, under her fiancé’s eloquence, Kefir’s project was already not on the same “level” as those of the other students.

“Lide… Lide, is there such a person in the Great Ying Empire?”

Moriarty pondered. At this point, Moriarty didn’t care whether Kefir should win or not. The genius of the Great Ying Empire winning at the Rossiya Empire’s academy was a resounding diplomatic slap in the face, and the queen would not object. But, this was not all Kefir’s doing, Moriarty cared about her young fiancé.

“Great power requires control.”

The queen’s control over Kefir came from blood ties and Kefir’s respect, but how to control this fiancé? The queen had not responded to the last sample sent, and those institutions of the Great Ying Empire were truly useless.

Lost in thought, Moriarty had unconsciously returned to her own office.

Her steps halted, then she opened the door, but at the next moment…

“!”

A figure emerged from behind, covered Moriarty’s mouth, and forcefully dragged her into the office!

Another figure followed closely, immediately closing the door!

“Who are you people!?”

Once the hand was released, Moriarty asked in panic!

They must have thought the “plan was already a success,” as the two didn’t continue to gag Moriarty but instead stood with hands on hips, pointing and threatening her openly!

“Who we are doesn’t matter, but you, the pig-raising dwarf, have gotten yourself into a big mess!”

“We warn you! If you don’t want to encounter any trouble walking at night, if you don’t want to be tied up in a sack and sunk in the river, then be smart and drop out of this research competition! Don’t be a toad lusting after swan meat, meddling in matters you shouldn’t even dream of!”

Seeing Moriarty silent, one of them, thinking she was too scared to speak, stepped forward, attempting to grab her clothes to threaten her further.

“Hey! Did you hear that?!”

“I heard.”

From noble mtl dot come

With a loud shout, the man’s face lit up with triumph, and he turned to his companion, then…

His towering figure collapsed with a thud! After twitching twice, he lay still.

“No need to threaten me twice.”

Moriarty blew away the green light of wind magic flickering on her cane.

The sight of crimson blood made the other man shiver! It took him a while to realize what had just happened, and in a panic, he shouted, turning to flee through the door, but…

【Bang】

After a dull sound, his body also fell in front of the door.

As if she had done nothing at all, Moriarty twirled the super-compact firegun in her hand, slipped it into her sleeve, and then looked towards the office door.

“Come in.”

The next moment, two people cautiously entered from outside the office, so quietly they didn’t make a sound.

After seeing everything inside, they frowned.

“Captain, this is troublesome.”

“It’s not hard to deal with. This afternoon, I have to transport a batch of expired pig feed for disposal. Stuff them in a sack, take them away in the truck, and dump them in the river. With that smell, no one will want to come close.”

Having said that, Moriarty stood up.

“Then, strip them of their clothes and put them on. You know what to do next, I don’t need to teach you, do I?”

“Yes.”

Moriarty nodded, put on her boots, and walked out the door.

“Worried about being reprimanded for stalled progress, I really owe you one this time, Mr. Passerby.”

Then, pressing her ear.

“Kefir? Yes, I’d like to discuss the project with your fiancé alone next. Kefir, could you procure some equipment for our experiment during that time?”
