I, Hogwarts Second Week
Chapter 573 Deathly Hallows
In the empty room, Harry's voice echoed, and it was particularly clear and powerful.
But before he could continue, he was interrupted by a sudden, heart-pounding crash.
It was someone hitting the door.
Ginny trembled violently, and the uneasiness in her heart quickly expanded. She immediately realized that the sound outside must be the mysterious group of people she saw, most likely Death Eaters.
They were surrounded.
"Harry." Ginny called with a tremor.
The next moment, a dazzling fluorescent light streaked across the night sky like a meteor, suddenly illuminating the entire room, and its speed was so fast that it was jaw-dropping. Harry instinctively raised his wand and prepared to fight.
But just as he stretched out his wand and raised it high, he noticed that the spell was not coming at him.
Instead, it was heading towards the door.
"Boom!" With a deafening explosion, the door turned into ruins.
The impatient Death Eaters outside finally rushed in.
Unfortunately, before they could be happy, they were knocked out by the fluorescent spell.
"What is going on?" Ginny stared at the ruined door blankly, not knowing why the Death Eater pretending to be Bathilda would attack her own people. Could it be that the spell was off?
"Get out of the way--" A quick and firm male voice suddenly sounded in Harry's ears.
Then, he felt an invisible force surrounding him, and his body was involuntarily pulled by this force, as if swept by a strong wind, and was instantly pushed into the room behind him. The door slammed shut behind him, isolating all the noise, leaving only his rapid breathing and heartbeat echoing in the small space.
The battle outside broke out instantly, as fierce as a storm. Countless spells intertwined and collided in the air, bursting with dazzling light, accompanied by deafening explosions and the crisp sound of glass breaking,
and occasionally mixed with a few painful screams, which made people shudder.
"Harry, let's get out of here." Ginny said anxiously in the room.
"Wait - I think there's something wrong."
Harry refused.
He instinctively felt that Bathilda was helping him.
But he was not stupid, hiding first was definitely the best choice at this time.
In the living room, the battle was still going on. Harry could vaguely see the scene outside through the gap in the door, and a large number of spells were flying, filling the entire space.
Obviously, the fake Bathilda had no wand in her hand, but she was able to suppress four or five black-robed wizards with her wandless spells.
Harry looked carefully and found that they were all dark wizards he didn't know.
Their fighting style was similar to that of the Death Eaters, and their bodies should have undergone changes. Ordinary spells had no effect on them.
"Who are you?" A dark wizard narrowly avoided a spell and waved his robe to disperse the deformed long sword that was slashing at him.
Then he raised his head and stared at Bathilda with a sinister face.
That was a very ugly witch. She looked a bit like Umbridge, but uglier. Against the backdrop of the black robe, she looked like a big toad eating.
"Idiot, can't you guess who he is at this time?" Her partner yelled, and then threw a green spell.
Bathilda dodged and retaliated with a freezing spell.
The man who was caught off guard felt his body stagnate, and then a chill suddenly swept through his body.
"He is Grindelwald!" The other black-robed wizards had already seen the true identity of Bathilda in front of them.
"Who else has such strength except him."
"Haha! That's a big fish! The Dark Lord has been looking for him!" The witch laughed and jumped to avoid a flying curse, "Don't fight with me, he's mine!!!"
Bathilda smiled coldly, raised her palm and pushed it forward suddenly, and then a flash of lightning appeared out of thin air. The crazy witch was blown away without being able to dodge, screaming continuously. Other dark wizards were also hit by the continuity of lightning and were injured.
The huge high temperature burned their bodies, and the air was suddenly filled with the smell of burnt flesh.
At this time, Harry, who was hiding in the room, reacted immediately after hearing Grindelwald's name.
The real Bathilda should have been moved away by Grindelwald long ago.
The current Bathilda was pretended by him, and he was waiting here deliberately for the Death Eaters to come to the door.
After understanding the reason, Harry immediately jumped out of the room, raised his wand, and shot several restrictive spells at the injured black-robed wizards.
After the battle at King's Cross Station, he knew very well that these Death Eaters could no longer be considered human beings. They were a group of monsters, and some spells that were useful to humans were useless to them.
Harry was not sure which spells were useful and which were useless.
He simply used the restrictive spell.
No matter what it was, the restrictive spell would always be useful.
"Multiple Freeze!"
Ginny also rushed out, waving her wand, and countless ice crystals shot out in an instant, freezing the entire living room and the door in a few breaths.
"Well done!" Harry shouted excitedly, and then added a few more spells.
On the other side, Grindelwald, disguised as Bathilda, took the opportunity to retrieve his wand.
Although as a legendary wizard, he is very skilled in wandless spells.
But some powerful spells are more fluent when cast with a wand.
A little later, a ball of blue flame emerged from the bottom of his feet.
Then it spread rapidly around.
The flames burned more and more fiercely, but miraculously, they did not cause any impact on the building and Harry and his friends. The flames passed through them like the wind.
The Death Eaters screamed in the flames. The flames caused terrible damage to them. They were burned to ashes in a few breaths.
"Huh--" Harry breathed a long sigh of relief.
Fortunately, it was just a group of Death Eaters instead of Voldemort himself, otherwise they would be in a very troublesome situation.
On the other side, Bathilda's body began to grow taller, hair grew on her dry head, and her clothes were also changing shape quickly.
After a while, she completed the transformation from Bathilda to Grindelwald.
"Which Potter are you?"
Grindelwald turned and looked at Harry.
He said while casting a spell to repair the room.
"Oh! Yes." Harry nodded. He remembered that he was still a Muggle at this moment.
No wonder Grindelwald did not reveal his identity to them at the first time.
Harry carefully looked at the wizard in front of him.
Compared to the last time they met, Grindelwald seemed to be ten years older.
Owen said that his grandfather seemed to have become younger because he defeated the essence of the Outer God in a certain tower of God-granting, and was infected with some ancient magic.
He usually looked about 40 or 50 years old.
But now he was 60 or 70 years old. His face was pale, his facial features were tired, and his eyes were not as sharp as before.
He had a more old-age look. Even if his clothes were the same as before, you could notice the changes in him at a glance.
"You two are really bold to come here." Grindelwald said calmly.
The broken room was repaired in a few breaths. Everything returned to a few minutes ago, as if the battle just now had never happened.
"I came to see my parents." Harry said sincerely.
He knew very well what caused Grindelwald to change so much.
There is nothing more painful in this world than killing your lover with your own hands. Even if the other party begged, even if the other party fell into the wolf's mouth, he would immediately become a monster.
Pain is pain, it will not change because of the reason.
"Yes, you need to see your parents." Grindelwald opened his heterochromatic eyes and looked at Harry meaningfully.
"Speaking of which, do we still have to stay here? Will those Death Eaters have reinforcements?" Ginny suddenly interrupted and said worriedly.
"Don't worry." Grindelwald waved his staff and a ball of flame lit the fireplace, and then the candles in the room were also lit.
"They won't come for a while. And - this house is under a powerful protection spell. It should have attracted their attention when you came in just now. Those people have been wandering around the village for seven or eight days."
"Why are you here?" Harry walked over.
Grindelwald motioned for the two of them to sit down.
"Wait and see." He said, "I know that the Death Eaters will definitely come to Godric's Hollow to find my great aunt. And I also need some tongues. I want to know what the monster is going to do."
"The one in that room -"
"It's also a Death Eater."
"Oh my God!" Ginny exclaimed.
Harry seemed calmer.
"By the way, how did you find us? We were wearing the invisibility cloak just now."
"Footprints, kid!" Grindelwald shook his head. "Footprints won't appear out of thin air on the snow. And they appeared in front of the Potter family's ancestral home."
"Uh--" Harry was a little embarrassed. This was their negligence.
There was no way. Every time he put on the invisibility cloak, he would subconsciously think that he had completely disappeared. He would never think so carefully.
"Oh, by the way, you just said that you have been collecting intelligence. Can you tell me what the mysterious man is doing now?" Harry hurriedly changed the subject.
Grindelwald glanced at him and said, "Some time ago, he was looking for Gregorovitch all over Europe."
"Gregorovitch?" Harry was stunned. He had heard of this name.
He had briefly accessed Voldemort's thoughts before and heard this name.
He asked Hermione and learned that Gregorovitch was a European wand maker.
But why did Voldemort look for a wand maker?
"Why did he look for a wand maker?"
"For the Deathly Hallows." Grindelwald said bluntly.
"Deathly Hallows?" Another familiar term.
Harry had heard of the Deathly Hallows, and it was Hermione who told him.
She said that Voldemort might go looking for the Elder Wand in the Deathly Hallows, because their wands were connected together several times when they duelled with him, and Voldemort would definitely look for the most powerful wand to get rid of such a situation.
Hermione suggested that they could go looking for it, so that they could plan ahead, but this suggestion was rejected by Owen.
Not to mention that the Order of the Phoenix would never allow them to run around Europe, the most important thing is that someone has already made plans for the Elder Wand.
This is the answer Owen told him.
"No wonder he captured Gregorovitch and Ollivander." Harry said.
As the most famous wand-making masters in Europe, these two people are naturally the wizards most likely to know where the Elder Wand is.
"Yeah." Grindelwald responded nonchalantly. Then he said: "You two can stay here for a few days, but not too long, leave here as soon as possible. If that monster comes, I won't have the energy to protect you."
"We'll leave tomorrow." Ginny said immediately after hearing this.
There was no point for them to stay in Godric's Hollow any longer. Staying here would only increase the danger. They had to leave as soon as possible.
"I want to stay a few more days." Harry suddenly said.
He wanted to learn a few tricks from Grindelwald.
The day of the final battle was getting closer and closer. Even if he could learn one more useful spell, it would be a good thing.
And maybe it was guilt - maybe it was pity.
Maybe it was empathy.
He had also been imprisoned in a small stairwell and spent many years in darkness.
Harry didn't know how long Grindelwald had been hiding here.
But such days were definitely not easy.
Hearing what Harry said, Grindelwald neither refused nor agreed.
It was late today. They had to spend a night after all.
He got up and left the living room and went to the small room where the Death Eaters were imprisoned.
He wanted to check whether the spells cast on those people were loose.
Taking this opportunity, Harry hurriedly discussed something with Ginny.
Although Ginny was very resistant and continued to stay here, after Harry talked about the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, the soft-hearted girl finally agreed to stay for a few more days.
In the evening, Ginny went to prepare dinner.
It was not cooking, but just heating up some of the food she brought with her.
In the living room, the lights were sparse.
Grindelwald did not eat with them. He stayed in the study on the second floor.
Ginny made a separate portion and asked Harry to send it.
When he walked into the study.
He saw Grindelwald sitting on a chair by the window.
Staring out the window like a sculpture.
He put the food on the table next to the chair without saying a word.
When he turned around and prepared to leave, the bookcase by the wall caught Harry's attention.
There was no book on the old-fashioned bookcase, and those precious magic books might have been taken away by the real Bathilda.
There were no books, but there were many photos on the cabinet.
The candlelight jumped, reflecting on the gray walls and bookcases, and he saw something moving faintly in the photos.
After walking in, he saw two young men holding arms in a silver frame.
One had blonde hair, and the other had red hair.
Both were smiling at him.
In a trance, Harry seemed to smell the fragrance of the free grass from the wilderness. The mountain breeze, with a hint of coolness and unruliness, gently brushed every corner of the study, as if even time was gently pulled back to that distant summer afternoon by this force.
There, the sky was unusually blue, a few white clouds wandered leisurely, and the sun shone through the gaps in the leaves, casting mottled light and shadows.
The singing of birds, the sound of gurgling streams, dancing with the wind, singing with the grass.
And what was more precious than all these, the one who could make all the troubles dissipate, and only freedom and joy, was the one standing next to him.
