Chapter 29 Falling In The Dark

If wizards are the eternal enemies of monsters, then Hell is the eternal nightmare of monsters.

The Black Prison is a prison set up by wizards for monsters. It was originally called the "First Prison of the Wizarding Union". This prison is hidden in the depths of the Silent Forest. Hundreds of monsters are imprisoned every year, but no monster has ever come out of it alive.

This prison is like a black hole, swallowing all the information.

So it is feared by the demons as the 'black prison'.

After the wizards knew about it, they simply changed the name of the prison to "Black Prison" to deter the demons active in the outside world.

And now, the little guy who came out of Hell is standing in the cabin.

The captain of the Misty propped his chin with his hands, and looked at her with a smile.

This is a six or seven-year-old girl with pink makeup and jade, very cute; big black eyes are watery, looking at the tall captain, smiling happily, completely unaware of how terrifying the monster in front of her is.

"She came from Hell?" The captain glanced sideways at the banshee.

"Yes." Nikita lowered his head.

"Everyone said it was an abyss, how did she crawl out?" The captain pinched the little girl's face and asked with interest.

"Her mother was the warden of the black prison."

"Why protect her?"

"Her mother was my mentor when I was a wizard." Nikita replied quickly, knowing that she had to convince the man in front of her. These sentences had been brewing in her heart for many days: "She was born The demon blood that was planted has eroded, and it will be transformed sooner or later. The tutor knows the consequences of her staying in the university, so he entrusts me to take her away. I owe my tutor my life, so I must protect her."

"It's ridiculous." The captain of the Misty shook his head.

Nikita knew what he meant.

For a monster, keeping the promise of food is indeed a very ridiculous thing.

Perhaps, in the bottom of her heart, there is still such an unrealistic expectation.

"Why don't you go back to the Lich King's territory?" The captain stood up and threw the white cloak into the armchair.

"I went back." Nikita replied in a shivering voice: "But she still hasn't transformed. The old liches want to send her to the test bed, and the little liches want to eat her. Even my partners are right. She's about to move."

"Why are you here?"

"My teacher told me that she could only survive if she got on this ship."

"Didn't your teacher tell you the rules of boarding?" The captain's blue-black lips curled up.

"Rules?" The banshee looked at the captain blankly: "Isn't the captain's words the rules?"

"Although I like your compliments very much, I must tell you that the rules for boarding the ship are drawn up by His Majesty the Siren King." The captain waved his finger, nodded to the two prey in front of him, and a bloodthirsty smile appeared on the corner of his mouth: "Everyone who boards the ship must bring their own offerings."

Nikita's heart tightened suddenly, and she looked at the captain with a pale face.

"Sacrifice!" Her voice was hoarse with fear.

Sacrificial offerings are items used during sacrifices.

Wizards are accustomed to using sandalwood, talismans, fine wine, and delicacies during sacrifices; more solemn sacrifices will also offer three animals. For them, sacrifice is mostly a ceremony to remember their ancestors, and only occasionally serves as a bridge between Yin and Yang.

The sacrifice of demons is completely different.

Demons have a long history. Their ancestors believed that the world originated from a great true spirit, and every life is the blood of the true spirit. And the true spirit rules over the blessings and misfortunes of each of his blood. The wizard is the fire stealer of the true spirit, and he is a rebellious son. The flesh and blood of the wizard is the best gift dedicated to the true spirit.

Before each banquet, the monsters will perform simple sacrifices. After each sacrifice, a grand banquet will be held. Because fresh flesh and blood is the food of the true soul, and it is also the delicacy of demons.

"So I need to choose a suitable sacrifice among you." The captain of the Misty looked at the two of them gently, without any fluctuation in his dark red eyes: "First, your names."

He snapped his fingers, and the dark oil lamp on the table immediately burst into green flames.

An old elf with pointed head and round ears and a gray beard slowly crawled out from the darkness, climbed onto the table, trembling, and spread out a gray-white animal skin picture.

In the center of the picture is a black scale, as if painted with charcoal from embers, with rough edges and simple structure. The hide is covered with dark red runes, and there is a faint red light shining in the dim cabin.

Nikita's lips twitched, and her mind went blank.

Sacrifice means Death.

Counting from the time she was living on the streets at the age of six, this was the moment she was closest to Death.

"Zhou Zhou." The little girl next to her pursed her lips and timidly announced her own name.

The old elf roughly grabbed her little hand, pierced her arm with her jet-black nails, dipped her fingers in the flowing blood, and wrote the word 'Zhou Zhou' on the left blank space of the balance.

"The word 'Zhou' is always spoken and used. Long, long ago, it represented a good human sacrifice." The captain turned his back to them, and was admiring the splendid scene outside through the narrow window in the cabin.

Behind him, the little girl covered her arms and sobbed quietly.

The old elf poked the sluggish banshee next to him with his slender finger.

"Nikita," the banshee murmured.

Her name is entered on the right side of the scale.

The green flame from the oil lamp rose up, shining on the vicissitudes of the old elf's face, which looked particularly gloomy.

"Now, you two recite a passage of "Fu Wei Shang Dian Sutra" in front of the shrine of His Majesty the Siren King." With a hoarse voice, the old elf pointed to a small dark spot on the table that looked like a tree stump.

"Fu Wei Shang Dian Sutra" is a scripture that must be sung before the demons feast and sacrifice. It is said that it is the demon king in ancient times, who recorded the admonition of the true spirit. Demons who do not obey the precepts will lose the blessing of the true spirit.

Nikita was very familiar with these prayers.

The old elf sang a sentence in its strange tone, and Nikita and Zhou Zhou followed suit.

"... use big fights to pray for the yellow scorpion (gou); the yellow scorpion stands on its back to attract hope. Shoukao Weiqi, to introduce Jingfu... Alas, I will still serve you!"

The whole sutra is less than 300 words, and the chanting is completed in less than five minutes.

The dark red runes on the gray-white animal skin picture burst into dazzling red light when the reverberation of the chants lingered, reflecting the figures of the people in the cabin on the bulkhead, appearing ferocious and distorted.

In the red light, Zhou Zhou's little hands tightly held onto Nikita's robe.

Nikita folded her arms and sat on the floor with her head buried deep in her knees.

...

Into the silent forest, in order to live.

Escaped from the silent forest, in order to live.

Break into the territory of the Lich King, in order to live.

Escaped from the territory of the Lich King, in order to stay alive.

Struggled for so long.

Is it finally over?

...

On the gray and white animal skin picture, the balance swings from side to side.

The old elf asked the captain in a panic, but the captain grabbed it by the ear and threw it into the sea through the window.

"Choose one yourself." The captain wiped his hands with a pure white silk handkerchief, and then threw the silk handkerchief out of the window.

On the table, the green oil lamp flickered a few times, and finally went out. Light blue smoke curled up, lingering in the small cabin.

"If we can't live together, then let us live together." Zhou Zhou whispered in her ear, "I haven't changed, I can't eat people."

The banshee raised her head and glanced at the little witch, Zhou Zhou bared her teeth and her eyes sparkled.

Fleeting memories flooded her like a flood.

"Sister, this uncle is so ugly!" In the territory of the Lich King, the little witch pointed at Nikita's Lich teacher and whispered in her ear.

"When I grow up, I'll catch a group of little wizards for you! Eat one and throw one away!" Standing in front of the bonfire, the little witch waved her little hands in an old-fashioned way.

"Sister, if you're hungry, bite your finger and you won't be hungry." On the way to escape, the little witch comforted her who hadn't had a drop of water.

The banshee wailed.

"It's really a fascinating smell." The captain of the Misty turned his head and looked into the cabin. He took a deep breath, his expression was intoxicated, and his tone became more and more mellow: "Exuding fear and despair, still trying to struggle, even if it's just the slightest light, he still holds on tightly and refuses to let go."

"Maybe your teacher sent you here because he knew you could still see a glimmer of light."

Nikita felt a bone-chilling chill.

"Now you can let go."

Nikita burst into tears.

She knew she was about to fall into the deepest darkness.

The captain looked at her gently.

Watching Nikita sob and chew.

Look at the thin blood streaks sliding down the corner of her mouth.

Watch them fuse together in despair.

The blood at the corner of the mouth is sweet and warm.

Nikita's stomach turned cold.

This coldness will soon spread to the whole body, and it will continue to be cold.
