Hunting High School

Chapter 182: No. 18 Gamma Street

The place where Augustus and Zheng Qing agreed to meet is called a lounge, but that's just a modest way of saying it.

In Zheng Qing's eyes, this place is completely a luxurious mansion villa.

The lounge is located on Gamma Street.

In First University, there are two places named 'Gamma'.

One is the Gamma Building in Beta Town, where it is said that an old fortune-teller lives in the building; the other is Gamma Street in Alpha Castle.

Different from the structure of the front hall, atrium, and back garden of Jiuyou Academy, Alpha Fort is centered on the main building and divided into two parts: the inner court and the outer court.

The inner court includes teaching facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, and astrology towers, as well as dormitories, offices, and small lounges for students and professors.

The outer courtyard covers a pet garden, a herbal garden, an alchemy room, the wing rooms of the janitors, and many independent courtyard villas.

Gamma Street is located in the Alpha Outer Court.

This street surrounds the main castle for a week. The road surface is paved with huge polished bluestone slabs, and there are many old and gnarled olive trees growing on both sides.

The buildings on both sides of the street are different.

On the side close to the city wall of the outer courtyard, there are mostly gardens and wing rooms belonging to the school working committee; while leaning against the foot of the tall city wall of the inner court, there are neat rows of silver-gray mansions.

The 'territory' of the Hemophilia is located in this row of mansions.

18 Gamma Street.

This is where Augustus and Zheng Qing agreed to meet.

In Zheng Qing's imagination, a room the size of a living room of 100 square meters is already a luxury for the students' lounge. But this kind of thinking obviously underestimates the obsession with reputation of some powerful and long-established organizations or families.

Such as the Hemophilia, YPO, Monteria family, Laike family, O'Brien family, Zhongshan Jiang family, etc. They are different from those small families that occasionally have outstanding members of Talent.

For generations, members of these organizations or families have entered the Alpha Academy to practice and study, and over time, they have established a strong bond with the academy.

And the nodes of the bond are the mansions outside the silent inner court walls.

Due to the different preferences of the owners, these silver-gray mansions have been built into different styles.

For example, the residence of the O'Brien family is in the Byzantine style with dome and minaret, the residence of the Bu Laike family is in the exquisite and gorgeous Rococo style, and the residence of the Jiang family in Zhongshan is in the simple and elegant Huizhou style with black tiles and white walls.

Compared with these ancient families, the resident of the Blood Friends Society seems a little well-behaved and not brilliant.

It's more like a town hall.

Outside the hall, like other mansions, there are neatly manicured and clean nursery lawns, among which there are several simple and elegant sculptures, including a horse man with a bow and arrow, a warrior standing silently holding a sword, and a vibrating Winged angel.

Stepping into the entrance courtyard, there is a row of slender and beautiful Ionic stone pillars, bearing a pair of iconic scroll-shaped decorations on the upper part, and several layers of neatly stacked foundation stones on the lower seat.

A brass sign hangs on the stone pillar in the center.

On it was engraved in cursive script the words 'Hemophilia Club'.

Below the name, several rows of smaller instructions are engraved:

'Founded by the Duke of Monteria in the third year of the Wuli Yuanbao'

'The first (Augustus) to be promoted to the Grand Wizard within two years of graduation, known as the Dragon Slayer'

...

'members only'

Due to time constraints, Zheng Qing did not carefully read the instructions on the bronze medal, but went straight across the row of Ionic stone pillars and came to the front of the mansion.

There is a water curtain in the foyer, pouring down from the roof, silent and refreshing.

Standing in front of the water curtain, under the reflection of the light, Zheng Qing's face was clearly reflected.

"There are visitors!"

Suddenly, a line of small characters rolled out of the waves appeared in the water curtain:

"Please show the invitation letter."

Zheng Qing froze for a moment, then quickly pulled out the gray cloth bag, and found out the white invitation letter that Augustus had given him.

Water mist filled the air, covering Zheng Qing's right hand holding the card.

"Signed by Augustus, please come in."

The handwriting rolled up by the waves gradually faded away, and the water curtain quickly retracted to both sides, leaving a high and low door opening, leaving only the spring water bubbling inches high and low under the feet, like a threshold.

Zheng Qing hesitated for a second, stepped over the threshold made of water, and walked in.

The water curtain behind him slowly closed, covering the inside and outside again.

The melodious music flowed out, lingering around Zheng Qing.

The servants in white robes greeted the young public fee student, and led him along the corridor to the depths of the lobby.

The first floor is decorated like a church.

There are gorgeous murals painted on the high walls around, and the sun shines through the colorful glass, leaving groups of obscure light spots on the ground. The colors in the lobby are uncertain, which makes people feel a lot more nervous.

At the end of the corridor is a tall lectern.

On the platform stood a French table with three wooden legs.

The guests stood quietly in front of the Dharma table, waiting in line.

Everyone has been baptized by this table.

A tall priest wearing a white cassock stood behind the law table, holding a black classic in his hands, with a solemn expression, and prayed for each guest in a serious tone:

"Jenny Pan, a sophomore in First University, Atlas College, a Druid's child."

"We pray for your soul."

"Qian Wen, a third-year student at the First University, Star Academy, a descendant of Qian Miao, the Great Wizard of East Lake."

"We pray for your soul."

"Louise Coty, a sophomore at No. 1 University, Alpha College, the heir to the Coty Manor."

"We pray for your soul."

Zheng Qing moved forward slowly with the team, and heard the whispers of several guests talking behind him.

"Why does it sound like mass for the dead?" a shrill voice asked in a low voice.

"It's to pray for the dead." Another voice explained ostentatiously: "The Blood Friends respect Talent, and everyone who walks into this hall has a family history to be proud of. That blessing is mainly for those who bestowed our Talent Pray for the dead."

"These rituals are relatively easy to accept in Atlas...Why did they appear in Alpha!"

"It can't be so absolute. Although Alpha's religious atmosphere is not as strong as that of Atlas, it still upholds faith."

"A magical world... I always thought that the Alpha Academy only looked at the talents!"

"...There is no such thing as absolute."

Listening to these conversations, Zheng Qing came to the white-robed priest in a short while.

The priest lowered his eyelids, and his eyes fell on Zheng Qing's bright red Jiuyou courtyard robe.

"Invitation letter." His voice was a little stiff and impatient.

Zheng Qing immediately handed over the white card.

"An invitation letter from His Excellency Augustus?" The priest was stunned for a moment, and a gentle smile immediately appeared on his face: "Your Excellency is resting during the tea break on the third floor."

With that said, he returned the invitation letter to Zheng Qing.

"Zheng Qing, a first-year student at No. 1 University, Jiuyou College, a public-funded student."

While singing softly, the priest in white stretched out two fingers and dipped them in a glass of transparent liquid on the French table:

"We pray for your soul."

Two fingers were tapped on Zheng Qing's forehead, and a refreshing feeling spread all over his body.

Like a cold drink poured down in one go during the dog days, Zheng Qing immediately noticed that own's spirit became more active almost instantly.
