Chapter 225: Dementors Intrude
Harry was flying fast, but his Nimbus 2000 was a little wobbly in the wind. He clenched it as tight as he could, turned and rushed into the wind and rain.
Five minutes later, Harry was drenched and frozen, and had trouble seeing his teammates, let alone the little Snitch.
He gallops across the field, past blurred red and yellow figures, oblivious to the game. He also couldn't hear the comments in the blustery conditions.
The audience is hidden under a sea of cloaks and umbrellas blown out of shape by the wind. Twice the Bludgers nearly knocked Harry off his broom, and the rain blurred his vision so much that he couldn't see them coming from the opposite direction.
He didn't know how long the game had been going on. It was getting harder and harder to keep the broomstick going in a straight line. The sky is getting darker, as if the night has decided to come early.
Twice Harry nearly ran into another player, and didn't know if it was his team-mate or the opponent's player.
Everyone was drenched now, and the rain was so thick he couldn't see... Mrs Hooch's whistle blew with the first lightning. Harry could just see Wood's silhouette through the dense rain curtain, and Wood was gesturing to Harry to come down to the ground. The whole team splashed down into the mud.
Are they going to end? Hermione asked. She had been staring at Harry. Even with the blessing of magic, Hermione's eyes couldn't catch Harry's trajectory. The weather was really bad. Not to mention that Harry's eyes were covered with cold rain.
How could it be possible... Ron said, They're only fifty points ahead now, but the Snitch hasn't been caught yet, and if Harry doesn't catch the Snitch soon, they might have to fight until night, maybe sooner. Night.
We should go, said Hermione, I have a great idea.
What? Ron wondered.
Waterproof and moistureproof spell,
This worked out very well for Harry, whose vision was severely hampered by the rain. Fan Lin said.
Several people ran over quickly, which surprised Harry very much.
Give me your glasses, Harry! said Hermione, she had to hurry, being seen was bad.
What's wrong?
Don't talk so much nonsense, waterproof and moisture-proof spell, this will help you a lot.
Hermione didn't wait for Harry to take off her glasses. She tapped Harry's temples with her wand, and the mist on Harry's glasses disappeared in an instant, which made Harry's vision better.
Of course, there is also a warming spell, we can only help you so far! Fan Lin said, he added a warming spell to Harry, and used his wand to drain the moisture from Harry's clothes.
This made Harry feel very comfortable.
If you don't catch the snitch soon, I think we'll stay here until night! Fan Lin said helplessly, This is terrible.
You said the same thing as Wood, said Harry.
His friend's help cheered him up, and his spirit was much better.
Come on! Hermione whispered, and the three of them ran back secretly.
The game still had to continue, although the vision became clear, but the rain was heavy, and soon the comfort just disappeared, and the clothes were wet again from the rain, which made Harry feel cold again.
Renewing his resolve, he hustled his broom through the turbulent air, looking for the Snitch in every direction.
In the process he dodged a Bludger and sneaked under Digory, who was galloping in the opposite direction... There was another thunderclap, followed by forked lightning. It's getting more and more dangerous.
Harry had to catch the Snitch quickly - he spun around, trying to get back to center field, but just then another bolt of lightning lit up the stands and Harry saw something that completely distracted him: The silhouette of a huge black dog with a shaggy coat, clearly reflected in the sky, was sitting in a row of empty seats on the top tier of the stands.
Harry's numb hands slipped on the broomstick, and his Nimbus 2000 dropped a few feet. He brushed the wet tassels away from his eyes and squinted at the stands again. The dog is gone.
Harry! Wood's distressed shout came from the Gryffindor goal. Harry, behind you! Harry looked around in panic.
Digory slammed down onto the pitch continuously, a small golden spot flickered between them in the rainy air... Harry, in a panic, leaned his whole body on the broomstick and spun towards the Snitch. Come on! he yelled at his halo. Raindrops hit his face, Quick!
However, something strange happened. There was a timid silence in the terraces around the runway; the wind, though still as strong as ever, forgot to roar, as if someone had turned it off, as if Harry had suddenly gone deaf—what happened What? Then the familiar, terribly cold snap hit him again, inside him, and just as he felt something move on the pitch below... Harry averted his eyes from the Snitch before he could think. look down.
There were at least a hundred dementors standing below, their hooded faces turned towards him. It was as if frozen water rose from his chest, cutting through his guts.
The surrounding rainwater began to condense into ice, and they fell to the ground at an extremely fast speed.
Harry had to get out of here quickly, and he rode his broom through the clouds so fast, he looked back from time to time, wondering if the face under the Dementor's hood was the one he had seen before, as pale as a poisonous snake.
However, this was obviously not something he should consider. Digory had already turned around when Harry rushed to the sky. The sky was too dangerous, and being struck by lightning was not a good thing.
But unfortunately, just as Harry dodged the dementor, he sent a little arc through the clouds, which stiffened his whole body.
A bolt of lightning swept across the end of his sweep, which made him a little uncontrollable.
He struggled to hold the broom handle, but before he could stabilize, he just flew out of the clouds, and he collided head-on with the fear he had always had.
He saw the dementor's gray-black cloak hanging limply to the ground, looking up, it was a mouth.
But Harry felt that it was more like a hole, an unknown thing was flowing, his body seemed to be dead, and he completely lost his intuition.
He let go of his hand at once, he felt a strong sense of falling, and the howling wind passed by his ears.
It's... not bad... the ground is soft...
