Hogwarts: Wizards of Eternity
#29 - Dumbledore's Crusade (bushi)
Roger Virgil was a person Dumbledore had saved from the Wizengamot's highest court.
At the time, Dumbledore's silence was seen by many members of the Wizengamot as a statement of his position.
Strictly speaking, this action of his carried a certain degree of risk.
After all, the matters Roger was involved in were not insignificant. It wasn't just the charges he faced, but to some extent, there were also diplomatic risks associated with him.
However, Dumbledore still chose to help.
However, Dumbledore wasn't the kind of despicable person who would act recklessly out of pity and then have the innocent public pay for his actions.
After Roger was declared innocent, Dumbledore had been monitoring all of Roger's actions to prevent himself from accidentally releasing a menace.
The events in the Middle East showed that Roger Virgil was a very ambitious and daring person. If such a person turned evil, the consequences would be too great!
Fortunately, Roger didn't betray Dumbledore's trust.
Professor McGonagall's feedback to him was that this child was destined to become a pillar of society in the future.
And after he entered school, his various actions had put Dumbledore's mind at ease.
…Although seeing Slytherin and Gryffindor students brawling and then using iron fists to suppress his classmates and quell the conflict was a bit outrageous.
But when someone sought his help, or when he saw injustice happening before his eyes, he really stepped up.
The matter with Hermione and Ron wasn't the first time Roger had helped his classmates, nor would it be the last. After gaining more trust from Dumbledore, he decided to give this little seer more responsibility.
Of course, this was on the condition that Roger was willing to accept it. If he wasn't willing, Dumbledore wouldn't force him.
After all, Roger Virgil's situation was different from Harry Potter's. Harry carried the prophecy chosen by Voldemort, and his future would definitely not be peaceful. Training him was necessary for the child to survive.
Roger didn't have any destined enemies, so if he wasn't willing, Dumbledore would make other arrangements for the Philosopher's Stone.
And Roger was a straightforward person. Except for the true details of his Seer abilities, which concerned his own life, he always spoke his mind on many issues.
He didn't beat around the bush with Dumbledore and directly asked why he would think of entrusting the Philosopher's Stone to him for safekeeping.
"Because I need to go on a long trip to handle some matters recently. The things I need to handle are a bit troublesome, and it's not suitable to carry the Philosopher's Stone with me, so I thought of you," Dumbledore said with a kind smile on his face.
Dumbledore didn't find anything wrong with Roger not asking what the Philosopher's Stone was or why it was with him.
Roger was a Seer, and it was perfectly normal for a Seer to know some information that others didn't.
Having been close friends with Grindelwald, he understood the inexplicable intelligence capabilities of powerful Seers too well.
"Going on a trip, where to?" Roger frowned slightly.
In the original timeline, Dumbledore also 'left school' for a period of time, but that was when Professor Quirrell, possessed by Voldemort, impersonated the Ministry of Magic and 'tricked' him into leaving. That was near the end of the semester, and it was still early.
Strange…
And soon, Roger's doubts were resolved.
"To the Middle East," Dumbledore still remembered that Roger was a child who hated lies.
In addition, it was a bit presumptuous to act mysterious in front of a Seer, so he simply told the truth.
"Is it what I think it is?" Roger's eyes narrowed.
"Yes," Dumbledore could understand Roger's gaze and nodded in affirmation.
Dumbledore was never a person who liked to leave messes for others to clean up. He always planned everything well, making everything the best arrangement.
Not everyone liked his approach, but he really held the initial intention of 'wanting everyone to become better' when carrying out various actions.
This trip to the Middle East was also the same. His saving Roger had caused some reaction there, and Dumbledore didn't intend to use the British wizarding world as a shield. He wanted to personally go to the Middle East to 'reason' with them.
"I have to watch out for Quirrell?"
"Yes," Dumbledore knew that his choice was definitely not a problem.
Without him saying it, the little Seer already knew everything.
No matter who he entrusted the Philosopher's Stone to, there was a possibility of unexpected situations occurring, but a Seer wouldn't. A Seer could foresee the future, everything was under surveillance!
"If you encounter any problems, you can seek help from trustworthy professors. I will give you a letter in my own handwriting as a token," Knowing that the little Seer hadn't grown up yet, Dumbledore also arranged backup for him.
As he spoke, Dumbledore took out a red crystal and a letter.
"…Do you know that Quirrell has a part of Voldemort's soul in him?" Looking at the Philosopher's Stone in front of him, Roger thought for a moment, and then said.
"Ah?" Dumbledore was stunned for a moment.
Looking at Dumbledore's slightly shocked but not surprised expression, Roger solved another doubt at this moment.
It seemed that Dumbledore didn't know that the other party was Voldemort from the beginning.
…Based on Quirrell, a professor who was still teaching Muggle studies last year, he certainly couldn't break into Gringotts' vault. Dumbledore should have had relevant suspicions from that time on.
Judging from the original trajectory of fate, it was probably after Voldemort absorbed unicorn blood to prolong his life that Dumbledore confirmed that the person behind Quirrell was Voldemort.
There weren't many wizards who had that strength, whose lives were in danger, and who couldn't ask for help through legal means.
Thinking of Dumbledore telling Harry in the hospital bed at the end of the semester, 'Everything is within my plan', and various things in the original fate…
So you are someone whose actions often have multiple purposes, and there is more than one plan, adjusting at any time according to changes?
Seeing Dumbledore stunned after hearing his words, and then hesitantly retracting his hand holding the Philosopher's Stone and the letter, Roger guessed what he was probably worried about based on his understanding of Dumbledore.
"Okay, give it to me. I'm just telling you this to prevent you from making wrong judgments due to a lack of information," As he spoke, Roger reached out and took the Philosopher's Stone and the letter from Dumbledore's hand.
"You…" Dumbledore was still clearly hesitant.
After all, that was Voldemort!
"Nothing will happen," Roger pointed to his eyes, the meaning self-evident.
Seer's prediction, steady!
Although Roger's predictions couldn't be like Grindelwald's, he could sense all the crises related to him. If someone who could harm him was plotting against him, Roger would have a feeling.
Although the feeling wasn't so clear, just a vague premonition.
But the only strong person who would want to attack him at Hogwarts was that one. He didn't have a fog of war on his side, and he could also use Dumbledore's letter to call for help. How could he not win?
"But."
Roger interrupted him: "It can't always be you helping me, I have to help you too, right?"
The matter in the Middle East had actually never ended. Religious seers were definitely not a small problem in the Middle East. During this time when he was living peacefully, Dumbledore was shielding him from the wind and rain.
Not letting any malice appear in front of Roger.
Roger didn't have the habit of letting others contribute to him unilaterally. If he could help, he would naturally do so without hesitation!
"Alright then, then let's talk about other things related to the Philosopher's Stone." Seeing Roger insist, Dumbledore didn't say anything more, but instead began to tell Roger about the second purpose of his visit.
