Hogwarts: Wizards of Eternity
#126 - Dream space, blue planet
Roger's overall design for the alchemical universe rocket referenced the Shenzhou series rockets he had seen in his childhood. The overall structure was slender and similar, but not entirely identical.
At the very bottom was the power unit, filled with "fuel" for fusion that Roger had sourced locally near the Aegean Sea, extracted from the seawater. As long as he used a thermonuclear fusion incantation, it could continuously convert into powerful thrust.
Technological rockets have many things to consider, such as parameters, whether the components are correct, weather temperature, streamlining, power system, weight, the astronaut's body's ability to withstand, and so on. But Roger didn't need to consider any of these.
Weather? Solved with a weather charm.
Weight, space? Seamless extension charm, transfiguration.
Power? Roger himself was the real power source.
Human body's ability to withstand? Roger goes without saying, and with magical blessings, Harry was also far beyond what Muggles could endure.
With fewer concerns, Roger's rocket was much shorter than Muggle technology rockets. The entire space was directly above the power unit, like a car, with just an 'engine and wheels + shell' to get the job done, focusing on raw power.
"Let's go, Roger!" Harry said.
Being Muggle-born, Harry certainly knew that spaceflight was a dangerous thing, and he had heard of the horrors of rocket crashes.
However, he had no worries about the alchemical rocket beneath his feet.
The reason was simple.
Because Roger was too strong!
With Roger's power, even without magic, let alone a rocket crash, Harry felt that he might not die even if he took two hydrogen bombs head-on, based on the posture he had shown at the German Ministry of Magic.
And that was just taking it head-on.
If something really went wrong, there was no need to resist. Roger could just use magic to take himself away.
Harry had seen Roger practice the Apparition Charm.
Spatial teleportation to escape was entirely possible.
In fact, Roger had also made design mistakes with this rocket.
"Sigh, if I had known, I wouldn't have added that charm for comfort," Roger sighed softly.
Sitting inside the rocket's living compartment, Roger looked through the window as the clouds passed by, but he didn't feel anything.
Considering the weightlessness that might occur in space, Roger had created a gravity solidification spell. As a result, when the rocket took off, Roger felt even less than taking a bus, like watching a video in front of a computer or mobile phone.
He didn't feel any sense of acceleration or gravity.
Now that the rocket was accelerating, Roger couldn't easily cast a spell to suddenly change anything.
"Not to mention the effort it took to build this rocket, the consumption of various alchemical materials is really expensive. Roger didn't want to blow it up unless absolutely necessary.
Let's remove this eyesore of a spell after entering space.
Roger was slightly dissatisfied, but Harry was very excited to stare out the window the whole time.
"The earth is getting smaller," Harry had traveled for more than a month, and had seen many wonders in the Time-Turner.
But this was the first time he had looked down on the world from such a high altitude.
This was different from flying in an airplane.
The flight altitude of an airplane is generally only about 6,000 meters to 10,000 meters.
Troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere—and that final magnetic field boundary.
10km and 1000km are completely different feelings.
When they reached the height that few people in human history had ever reached, not only Harry, but even Roger's eyes flashed with a rare hint of emotion.
That clear and blue planet, their 'mother star' Earth, was reflected in their pupils in a brand new posture.
The two were silent for a long time.
After a while, Roger looked away and looked to the other side.
He still had something he wanted to see.
Taking out his wand, Roger turned a round button into a square and carefully experienced the changes.
If he didn't have a second brain that could achieve absolute memory, he probably wouldn't even notice the difference.
Through this, Roger verified the two doubts in his mind.
One was whether magic could be used outside the Earth. The answer was yes.
The other was... the thinking of the creatures on Earth really did have a bonus to the wizard's spellcasting!
When he left the creatures far enough away, it seemed that the 'signal' had fluctuated a bit, and this bonus was slightly weakened.
But it didn't matter.
As long as it wasn't a question of 'existence or non-existence,' it was easy to handle.
Roger had read some science fiction books in his previous life, which said that if you leave the Earth's environment, physics will undergo some changes that are difficult to figure out, just like in the space environment, metal will undergo a "cold welding" phenomenon that would not normally occur on Earth.
So some people decided to let the Earth be a "physical rule stabilizer" and take the entire Earth on a cosmic journey together.
At worst, when he develops the universe in the future, he will follow suit and take hundreds of millions of people with him.
With space extension charms and virtual reality technology, Roger believed that this was not too difficult to achieve.
Retracting his divergent thoughts, after verifying that he could cast spells even after leaving the Earth's atmosphere, he began to do serious business: 'Apparition'!
Along with the fluctuations in space, Roger came into zero-distance contact with the universe with his own body.
Then he fulfilled another wish from his childhood.
"So, without the filtration and refraction of the atmosphere or any other matter, the real sun is this color."
Seeing the sun in the universe, get √!
Oh, I almost forgot, there's a second one.
Speaking in the universe, to see if sound really can't be transmitted.
This was also completed.
After doing these two things, Roger leisurely looked around in space again.
Neither the high temperature, nor the radiation, nor anything else caused Roger any discomfort.
After all, his appearance was still human, but the inside of his body was already some inexplicable thing.
Ordinary things couldn't affect him.
"...That's great. If we follow the original historical trajectory, in a few decades, this place will become a junkyard," Roger looked at the blue color under his feet with some regret.
With the progress of human aerospace technology, rockets will no longer be the exclusive domain of major powers. Private companies, and even some individuals, are beginning to have the ability to launch their own satellites.
In the era Roger lived in, according to the data, there were nearly 170 million pieces of space junk floating near the Earth!
All of them are the wreckage left behind by various satellites, aircraft, and rockets.
This situation is not fixed, but is getting more and more serious.
According to a certain theory, if there is too much space junk, it will even seriously affect the development of human spaceflight.
But until that day really comes, countries will not spend money and put in great efforts to rectify this problem.
Just like before the disastrous disaster in London, many people didn't care about environmental pollution.
When it hurts, that's when you know you're wrong...
"But since I am here, the trajectory of history will probably not become like that."
Now it is 1992, and Roger's three-dimensional magic will be popularized in recent years. By the 21st century, the world may become something else. Turning his thoughts here, Roger originally intended to return to the Dreamer, but a flash of inspiration suddenly flashed in his mind.
"Wait, space junk—if I use some magical means, it seems that I can now create a very dangerous weapon!"
