Chapter 24: Eulalie Hicks

Tom pinched his nose, looking at the strange creature devouring its food with a disgusted expression.

“Where did you find this ‘thing’?”

“This isn’t a ‘thing,’ this is a house-elf. His name is Toby, and he’s my most loyal servant.”

Leivide added a chicken leg to Toby’s plate as he spoke.

“What thing?” Tom looked at Leivide, bewildered.

Leivide recognized them as Thestrals. They were magical creatures that could only be seen by those who had truly witnessed death.

The carriage landed in front of the orphanage gate with a loud crash.

“Hello, my name is Eulalie Hicks. You can call me Professor Hicks.” The witch smiled and extended her hand towards Leivide and Tom.

Tom looked at Hicks warily, not moving.

Leivide also extended his hand and shook hers, “Professor Hicks, are you the person Professor Dumbledore sent to pick us up?”

Eulalie Hicks is a character from the movie 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them', and is the Charms professor at Ilvermorny. She was one of the earliest members of Dumbledore’s Army.
