Hogwarts: This Dark Lord is so evil

#18 - Tom's destined wand

Tom stood numbly in place, allowing the measuring tapes to automatically measure him.

At the same time, the still-young Mr. Ollivander was carefully recording the data in a notebook.

Once the measuring was complete, Ollivander went straight into the wand pile.

After a good while, he squeezed out of the wand pile with difficulty.

Only, he had several long boxes in his hands.

Tom looked at the boxes containing the wands, his eyes flashing with fervor.

"Alright, we'll try them one by one… If there are no surprises, the wand that suits you is among these!" Ollivander placed all the boxes on the counter.

Tom looked at the several long boxes on the table, then looked at the wands all over the room.

"Ollivander… Mr., how do you know these might suit me? What about the others?"

Ollivander said with a smile: "That's a trade secret… Okay, just kidding. It's not that mysterious. These wands were selected based on the measurements I just took."

"Also, it's not 'might suit you.' In fact, all the wands here suit you!"

Tom asked in confusion: "They all suit me? Then I just need to pick one from here?"

"No, no, no. I emphasize again, the wand chooses the wizard, child… So, you should stand here, try them, and let them choose. Finally, let them decide whether to follow you," Ollivander said, opening the wand boxes on the table.

Tom was a little dissatisfied with this statement. He was here to buy a product, but in the end, the product was choosing him?

"Come on, don't just stand there…" Ollivander took out a black wand and handed it to Tom. "Try waving it."

"Ebony wand, dragon heartstring core, ten and a quarter inches, a very good wand! Immense power!"

Tom took the wand, his dissatisfaction already overshadowed by the excitement in his heart. Immense power? He liked powerful wands!

"Swish!" Tom vigorously waved the wand in his hand.

However… nothing happened.

It was as if he had just waved an ordinary dead branch, not a wand…

"Ah… it seems this wand didn't choose you. Then let's try the next one…" Ollivander put the ebony wand back.

Tom couldn't help but frown. Not being "chosen" made him a little annoyed.

"Come, let's try this one…"

Next, Tom tried many wands in a row, but couldn't find one that suited him.

Instead, Ollivander's shop was a bit of a mess from Tom's wand-testing explosions.

However, Ollivander was used to this, and casually repaired the shattered tables, chairs, windows, and so on.

Before long, the counter in front of Tom was piled high with wands.

"Hmm, a somewhat picky customer… Although not that common… Ah, perhaps I shouldn't have only given you wands with dragon heartstring cores. Perhaps…"

Ollivander said, again diving into the wand pile.

When he reappeared, he had several more wand boxes in his hand.

He opened one of the boxes and took out a black wand.

"This is one of my masterpieces, holly wand, phoenix feather core, eleven inches, supple and flexible…"

Leif looked at the wand upon hearing this.

Because this seemed to be the wand of Tom's future nemesis, Harry Potter.

Tom took the wand and waved it gently.

"Boom!"

A violent explosion once again shattered the newly repaired glass window…

"Oh no! This is completely unsuitable for you!" Ollivander snatched the holly wand back from Tom's hand as if he were robbing him.

This was completely different from what he had expected. Not only did this wand not match Tom, it even produced a severe rejection reaction!

After putting away the holly wand, Ollivander pondered.

Tom, on the other hand, looked at the shards of glass all over the floor, looking somewhat at a loss.

He even began to doubt himself…

Could it be that his talent was actually very poor, so even being chosen by a wand was so difficult?

In fact, if Tom hadn't met Leif, this big rock constantly weighing him down, he wouldn't have had such thoughts.

But now, Tom could be said to have temporarily lost confidence in his abilities, constantly falling into self-doubt.

Suddenly, Leif's voice came from behind, "Don't worry, Tom. I think it's because you have very special talents. That's why choosing a wand is so difficult."

Hearing this, Tom's tense mood improved a little.

He turned his head, and just as he was about to speak, he saw Leif sitting on the long chair, happily savoring a cup of ice cream.

Tom's mood suddenly became less beautiful again.

"Where did you get your ice cream?"

Leif shrugged, "Just went out to buy it. You were just too focused on choosing a wand and didn't notice me."

No mistake, one first one inside one capacity all in one look!

Tom frowned, "What about mine?"

Leif blinked, "Didn't buy it. I think you don't have time to eat it right now… You know, ice cream melts…"

"Hmph! I don't care at all anyway!" Tom turned his head again.

Ollivander's voice came over at this moment.

"I occasionally have a few people here who have difficulty choosing a wand. Without exception, they all have very special talents. However, they all eventually get the wand that best suits them!"

"So, don't worry, the wand that suits you best is definitely still waiting for you… Good things take time, dear."

Ollivander said, taking out a white wand from another box.

"I thought about it carefully. Since the holly wand rejected you so much, then why not try this one… Yew wand, phoenix feather core, thirteen and a half inches, extremely powerful, try it…"

Tom took the yew wand expressionlessly. He was already a little numb. After all, Ollivander had said almost the same thing when he tried the other wands…

"Buzz…"

At the moment Tom gripped the yew wand tightly, a faint green light suddenly overflowed from the tip of the wand, illuminating the entire dim shop with an eerie atmosphere…

"Wow!" Leif looked at this scene in surprise.

If he didn't know that Tom didn't know much magic yet, he would have thought that Tom had just cast an Avada Kedavra.

"Haha! This is the wand! This yew wand and the holly wand both use feathers from the same phoenix. It can be said that they are brothers among wands!"

"I was just thinking, since the holly wand rejects you so much, then the yew wand is very likely to be surprisingly compatible with you! Facts prove that this is indeed the case!"

"Oh… Yew wand! I can be sure that you will definitely achieve extraordinary things in the future!"

Ollivander also seemed very excited. After all, he rarely saw such a strange scene.

Tom stared blankly at the yew wand in his hand, that feeling of being connected by blood…

It was as if his arm had been extended!

This discovery greatly increased Tom's confidence!

'Hmph, when I go back and practice my magic, I will beat that bastard Leif up!'

Suddenly, Tom only felt his left hand, which was not holding the wand, go slightly cold, and then a cup of ice cream appeared in his hand.

"Congratulations, Tom, you finally got the most suitable wand…" Leif said happily.

"Didn't you say you didn't buy it?"

"Ah? You believe whatever I say? Tom, when did you trust me so much?"

"You damn…"

"Forget it if you don't want it."

"Anyway, it's spending your money, why wouldn't I eat it? Give it to me!"
