Hogwarts: I am Voldemort
Chapter 287 A mysterious invitation
"You're not Lucius, are you?"
The old man with the white beard looked at Voldemort who had turned into Lucius and said this.
"No, but I can't reveal more identity because of some special reasons."
Voldemort was not surprised.
He and Lucius have completely different temperaments, and he himself has not changed for this.
In this way, it is not a surprise to be discovered.
What's more, the director in front of him can still see the death aura, so it's easier to distinguish the difference between him and Lucius.
"I have no intention of exploring your secrets, but you must have a name. Calling you Lucius would feel weird to me, because I happen to know him."
Director Whitebeard shook his head and said, and led Voldemort into the Death Hall.
"Sylvester, you can call me that, Director."
Voldemort thought for a moment and gave himself this name.
In Latin, it means coming from the forest.
Voldemort felt that this represented his consciousness, and part of it came from Lin Zuo.
"Sylvester?"
The white-bearded director was startled for a moment, and he turned to look at Voldemort in shock.
But the latter didn't pay attention to him, he just looked at the room in front of him.
The Death Hall was much larger than the Time Hall he had been to before. It was as big as half a football field.
It is dimly lit, square in shape, and sunken in the center, forming a huge stone pit.
Stone steps surround the entire house, like stone benches, descending step by step, making the Death Hall look like a lecture theater.
There is a raised stone platform in the center of the stone pit, and an ancient and shabby-looking arch stands on it.
There were no walls around the arch, and a tattered black curtain hung above it.
There was no wind in the cold air, but the curtain swayed gently, as if something was touching it behind it.
But behind it is just the other side of the stone platform. This curtain looks quite weird.
"When did it start to exist here..."
Voldemort asked questions while looking at Director Whitebeard.
But he turned his head and saw the other party looking at him in shock.
"Is there any problem, Director?" Voldemort looked at him doubtfully and asked.
"no problem."
The white-bearded director retracted the shock in his eyes, lowered his head and looked at the curtain in the distance.
Although Voldemort could only look sideways at him, he could still see the shock that had not disappeared from his eyes.
Shock?
Voldemort frowned and turned on his telepathy to check the other person's thoughts.
"Huh?"
Voldemort was surprised because he could not sense any information from the other party's heart.
He rarely encounters this situation. Usually when this scene occurs, it proves that the other party is a master of Occlumency.
And it's the top-notch kind.
Director Whitebeard was awakened by his suspicion. He put away the shock in his eyes and turned to look at Voldemort, who was considering whether to use the Legilimency Spell.
"This place has existed for much longer than the Ministry of Magic." Director Whitebeard explained the doubts of Voldemort.
Voldemort nodded, not surprised by this.
But he was very curious about Director Whitebeard and couldn't help but ask: "Are you a master of Occlumency?"
"Occlumency?"
Director Whitebeard asked in confusion, but then he replied, "No, Mr. Sylvester, we don't learn that kind of magic. It would be a waste of time and energy, but usually we are shielded in the Brain Hall. The blessing of mind-searching magic.”
"The Hall of Brains?" Voldemort became curious about that place.
"If you are willing, I can take you there to have a look, but if you are not willing to join the Silent Man team, I can only take you to take a look from a distance."
After Director Whitebeard finished speaking, he ignored Voldemort's doubts and asked: "Are you willing to join the Silent Man team?"
This was a very unexpected invitation, and Voldemort was very surprised by it.
The two had only met once before, and this was only their second meeting.
And his identity is very mysterious in front of the other party.
In this case, the other party dared to invite me directly. Why?
He thought of the shock in this person's eyes before and wondered if it was because of that name?
But what does a name mean?
What's more, this name was something he came up with on the spur of the moment.
"What price do I need to pay?" Voldemort asked.
"Just keep silent about everything you see here, Mr. Sylvester. That's the only rule for the Silent Team."
Director Whitebeard said immediately, Voldemort did not see any more emotions in his expression.
"Do I need to sign a magical contract?" Voldemort asked again.
Director Whitebeard did not answer immediately. He thought for a moment before speaking: "It's not necessary for you, Mr. Sylvester."
Voldemort raised his brows, and doubts arose in his heart again.
He couldn't help but rub the handle of the yew wand with his right hand. He really wanted to cast a Legilimency spell on the other party.
But that magic means little to a master of Occlumency.
"You will tell me why, won't you?" Voldemort asked, with a hint of threat in his voice.
Director Whitebeard didn't seem to hear the threat in those words.
In other words, he answered too quickly and did not have time to understand the threat in his tone.
"Can't."
After he said these three words, he suddenly felt that he was too excited and hurriedly explained, "Mr. Sylvester, I mean, the silent people have their own rules. Maybe one day, when you become the director , I’ll tell you everything.”
Voldemort rubbed his hand on the wand twice more, and he could see the sincerity in the other person's eyes.
The director must have had a compelling reason not to tell him the secret.
So should you try it yourself and find out?
"I know this invitation must make you confused, but please believe me, I mean no harm."
Director Whitebeard said, even raising his hands to keep his hands away from the wand, "And if you want to explore my memory, I advise you not to do that."
"Why?" Voldemort asked.
"If you agree to join the Silent Man team and go to the Brain Hall to get the blessing, I think you will understand the reason. Before that, I can't say more, limited by the Silent Man's rules." Director Whitebeard said.
"You keep talking about the Silent Men but not the Department of Mysteries. Is it different for you to join the Silent Men team than to join the Department of Mysteries?" Voldemort tried to get more information from other channels before making a decision.
"That's what the outside world calls us, but in fact, we have never admitted it." Director Whitebeard put down his hands and said, "We have never said that we are part of the Ministry of Magic."
This statement surprised Voldemort.
But thinking about it carefully, there is not much information about the Department of Mysteries in either Lin Zuo's memory or Riddle's memory.
He knew that in Lin Zuo's memory, a battle happened here, but there was still no explanation for it.
"I need to think about it, Director, but before that, let me tell you the purpose of inviting me here."
Voldemort cautiously declined the other party's invitation because the invitation was too inexplicable.
There is no free lunch in the world. He is greedy but not stupid. He should wait and see for a while before making a decision.
