Hogwarts: I am the White Demon King
#518 - Chapter 518 Don’t run, I promise not to kill you!
Thinking of the Iron Skin Curse that flashed before Dumbledore's body and the scene of him falling from the high tower with wide eyes, Barty Crouch Jr. couldn't help but laugh.
"The strongest wizard in the world? He doesn't even know that an Iron Skin Curse can't block a Killing Curse." He shook his head, his voice full of mockery.
But on closer thought, it wasn't that surprising.
In the end, Dumbledore was already exhausted and unable to cast any complex spells. He could barely muster an Iron Skin Curse, which was already beyond the limits of ordinary people. But the truth proved that this last bit of struggle was in vain.
Barty Crouch Jr. narrowed his eyes, walked to the railing, and looked down at Dumbledore, who had fallen at the base of the tower, his smile growing colder.
"Hahahaha, Dumbledore died at our hands!" Bellatrix laughed like a madwoman, her face filled with unconcealable mania.
She quickly walked to the edge of the terrace, looked up at the night sky, raised the wand in her hand, her voice sharp and excited.
"This place lacks a beautiful decoration, Morsmordre!"
As Bellatrix's incantation fell, a chilling, emerald green light soared into the sky, piercing the horizon like a sharp blade.
The light gradually dispersed, converging in the night sky into a huge mark—a skull with a snake writhing and coiling out of its open mouth.
The eye sockets of the skull burned with a ghostly green light, and the snake twisted its body in its mouth, as if mocking everything at Hogwarts with its forked tongue.
Barty Crouch Jr. looked up at the mark symbolizing victory, the smile on his lips deepening.
Then, he bent down and picked up Dumbledore's wand. It was an ancient but elegant wand, its surface carved with intricate patterns, as if telling its long history.
He held the wand in front of him for a moment, then solemnly put it into his arms.
"The mission is complete!" he muttered to himself, his voice filled with barely suppressed excitement.
Tonight's operation was a complete victory. They not only successfully obtained the wand that the master wanted, but also personally eliminated the Dark Lord's greatest enemy—Albus Dumbledore.
Thinking that the master's reward was about to fall on him, Barty Crouch Jr.'s face was filled with undisguised pride.
As the greatest contributor tonight, no one could shake his position, not even the crazy Bellatrix.
"Dumbledore's death is just the beginning," Barty Crouch Jr. shouted with a fanatical expression. "The Dark Lord's power will eventually be unstoppable!"
Bang—
The door behind him was pushed open again, and Peter Pettigrew and the Carrow siblings ran in with pale faces.
"We can't hold them back, Professor McGonagall is too powerful, and Professor Flitwick has also arrived. Let's go! Macnair has already fallen."
Listening to the thumping sound from the stairs, the arrogance on Barty Crouch Jr.'s face subsided a little: "Snape's office should be impossible to return to."
"Then break through towards the school gate. McGonagall shouldn't have had time to revoke my permissions yet." Snape stood up again at some point, but his face was a little pale, as if he had just suffered a serious injury.
Time was of the essence, and the Death Eaters, unable to rescue Dolohov, who was still unconscious, turned into black smoke and flew towards the school gate.
However, they had just taken off when they were disrupted by a sudden barrage of spells. Amycus Carrow, the brother of the Carrow siblings, was hit by several spells and fell from the sky without a word.
"Brother!" Alecto Carrow exclaimed, trying to grab his falling figure.
Barty Crouch Jr. hurriedly glanced back and found that many students were flying over from the direction of the castle on flying brooms. By the light of the Dark Mark, it could be seen that most of them were Gryffindor and Ravenclaw students.
They were excited, shouting slogans randomly, and frantically firing spells at the Death Eaters.
"Don't run! Put down your wands and surrender!"
"Did Merlin give you the courage? How dare you run wild at Hogwarts!"
"Stop now, I guarantee with my character that I will definitely not beat you to death!"
"Tell my mom, I'm not a coward!"
"From today on, no one can say that Ravenclaws are all nerds!"
"Don't get bogged down," Barty Crouch Jr. shouted, adjusting his direction to continue flying forward. "The mission the master entrusted has not been fully completed. Everything takes precedence over the mission. Don't let these students hold us back."
Alecto Carrow recklessly continued to fly towards the direction where her brother had fallen, but at the moment she grabbed his collar, dozens of spells flashed on the ground.
"F***!" Alecto Carrow only had time to curse before being hit by numerous spells and falling heavily to the ground one after the other with his brother.
Cedric led a group of Hufflepuff students to run over. Without flying brooms, it was no longer realistic to continue chasing, but taking down a Carrow sister could also be considered a gain.
On the other side, Harry, Ron, and Professor McGonagall had chased to the top of the Astronomy Tower, but all they saw was the black smoke of the fleeing Death Eaters.
"Damn it, one step too late!"
Harry fired spells madly at Peter Pettigrew's figure, his eyes full of anger.
Just then, Neville's voice suddenly sounded: "Harry, Ron, I've brought your flying brooms over for you, catch!"
Harry jumped on the Firebolt directly, rushing out like an arrow, and Ron followed closely behind.
Neville was just about to set off when he heard Professor McGonagall's stern shout: "Neville, weren't you watching the door to the common room? How did they all run out!"
Hearing this, Neville's figure swayed violently, almost falling off the flying broom, knowing that he was not very good at flying on a flying broom in the first place.
Neville quickly grabbed the broom and smiled sheepishly at Professor McGonagall.
"Professor, I've sealed the door, no one can come out of the common room, but the twins took everyone out of the window, and I couldn't stop them at all."
"Professor, wait a moment, I'll go help Harry and Ron first, and by the way, catch the twins back and let them receive your scolding."
With that, he hurriedly flew out, fearing that his flying broom would be forcibly requisitioned by Professor McGonagall a second later.
