Hogwarts: I am the White Demon King
#495 - Chapter 495: Go and inform the Minister of Magic
Upon hearing Voldemort's command, Rodolphus, the Carrow siblings, and the other Death Eaters immediately sprang into action, shouting orders and quickly organizing the newly released prisoners to assemble.
Bellatrix, however, didn't bother with these trivial matters, instead following fervently behind Voldemort, her eyes gleaming with a pilgrimage-like adoration.
Karkaroff, not wanting to be outdone, closely trailed Voldemort, saying in a fawning tone, "Master, allow me to lead the way; I am more familiar with the paths here."
Compared to the numerous Death Eaters present, his status was not high, but he possessed an advantage that the others lacked: an intimate knowledge of how to navigate from Azkaban to the Ministry of Magic.
Therefore, he had to seize every opportunity to perform well in front of Voldemort, in order to change the Dark Lord's impression of him.
The Death Eaters were highly efficient, and soon they had gathered all the prisoners in the room leading to the Ministry of Magic.
To call it a room was an understatement; it was actually an extremely spacious hall, large enough to accommodate hundreds of people. The Ministry of Magic had put considerable effort into this small auditorium to ensure that prisoners could get to work on time each day without delay.
Karkaroff stood guard at the door, like a dutiful doorman, carefully counting the number of people. After confirming that everyone was present, he took a deep breath and slammed the auditorium door shut with a bang.
To be honest, he was still a little uneasy. He didn't know what the situation was like outside the door—would the Dark Lord's arrangements go awry?
Would the Aurors already be lying in wait?
Or even... would Dumbledore have already received the news?
However, no matter how uneasy he felt, his fear of Voldemort prevented him from hesitating. Swallowing hard, he raised his hand and gently pushed the door open.
There were two Aurors outside the door, but they were already lying unconscious on the ground. Besides them, there was also a Death Eater standing there.
"Long time no see, Igor Karkaroff," Yaxley said with a slight smile, appearing very arrogant. "Welcome to the Ministry of Magic."
He walked straight past Karkaroff and trotted up to Voldemort, bowing deeply, his voice filled with barely concealed excitement: "Master, I have completed your arrangements, as you commanded."
"Very good, Yaxley, you are always so efficient," Voldemort nodded slightly, a hint of satisfaction in his voice. "Go now, distribute the Christmas presents to my friends."
Yaxley bowed deeply again and took out a large number of wands and potions from a pre-prepared Undetectable Extension Charm bag. Then, with a spell, he accurately sent these items into everyone's hands.
"Friends," his voice echoed in the hall, "welcome back to the world of freedom. These are your wands, confiscated by the Ministry of Magic, and invigorating potions to quickly restore your magic and stamina."
"Everyone, take a short rest, and then proceed to Potion Factory Number Three through the fireplace in the opposite room. Someone will be there to meet you."
Bellatrix was the first to drink the potion, and then she waved her wand with satisfaction, feeling the long-lost power surge through her limbs. She couldn't help but speak to Voldemort, her voice full of eagerness.
"Master, before we leave, could I give the Ministry of Magic a special Christmas present?"
Rodolphus, Dolohov, and the others also looked at Voldemort, already impatient to cause a ruckus and vent the anger they had accumulated over the past decade.
"Yaxley, you are responsible for arranging the departure of these prisoners," Voldemort smiled, turning to look at the high-spirited Death Eaters before him, and said softly, "Go, announce your return to the wizarding world."
"As you command, Master!" Bellatrix strode into the Ministry of Magic without hesitation, raising her wand frantically. "Confringo! Hahahahaha!"
Boom—
The continuous explosions completely awakened the entire Ministry of Magic, attracting some of the clerks responsible for staying behind.
"What's going on? Where are the people on duty on this floor?" The Auror squad on duty quickly arrived, the squad leader frowning as he asked loudly, looking at the smoke in the corridor.
"It's an attack, Captain!" A young Auror waved his wand to dissipate the smoke and said with a solemn expression as he looked at the corridor in front of him, "It seems that some prisoners have escaped from Azkaban. Listen, there's some crazy laughter."
Prisoners escaped?
How is that possible!
The squad leader's mind went blank. Weren't there Aurors on duty? Without the Ministry of Magic's cooperation, the people from Azkaban couldn't possibly come over.
That's right, what about the Dementors? What were they doing?!
"Go, let's go in and take a look, be careful!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the squad leader's movements suddenly froze. His gaze was fixed on the other end of the corridor, his eyes almost popping out of their sockets.
There, a tall figure was slowly approaching, draped in a jet-black robe, standing straight, each step seemingly carrying a suffocating sense of oppression.
That pale face gradually became clearer, with distinct features beneath a pair of scarlet eyes that seemed to pierce the soul. The bridge of his nose was almost completely collapsed, and two slender nostrils opened and closed slightly like venomous snakes.
Behind him were Bellatrix, Rodolphus, Dolohov, and others with grim smiles on their faces.
In an instant, all the wizards seemed to have their throats choked, unable to utter a single sound.
The... the Dark Lord?
He had conquered Azkaban and rescued all his loyal followers.
The squad leader swallowed hard, his legs beginning to tremble uncontrollably.
Impossible... this is impossible!
Hadn't the Daily Prophet repeatedly reported that the Dark Lord's resurrection was pure nonsense, a sensational hoax! They had even used full-page articles to mock Dumbledore, calling him "terminally delusional."
Even Minister Fudge had repeatedly emphasized that the wizarding world was calm and peaceful, saying that Harry Potter was just being a sensationalist.
Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!
The squad leader felt as if the fear in his heart was about to overwhelm him. He even began to secretly curse the editor of the Daily Prophet and the incompetent Minister of Magic, Fudge.
"Run! Don't make meaningless sacrifices, everyone run! Notify the Minister, the Dark Lord is here!"
A shrill cry suddenly rang out, tearing through the brief silence in the corridor. The wizards present fled frantically, without the slightest bit of fighting spirit.
The squad leader ran very fast. In addition to fear, his heart was also filled with anger. He wanted to drag Fudge over himself and let him see who this really was.
"Hahahahaha—" Bellatrix laughed wildly again, raising her wand to begin reaping souls, but Voldemort raised his right hand, stopping her plan.
"Bellatrix, there's no need to rush," Voldemort stood there, his scarlet eyes coldly sweeping over the fleeing figures, a mocking arc appearing on the corner of his mouth.
"Don't you think this scene is beautiful?"
Beautiful?
Bellatrix couldn't see where the beauty was. To her, she would rather cruelly torture these people with the Cruciatus Curse; their screams were more beautiful.
However, without the slightest hesitation, she put away her wand, standing respectfully behind Voldemort, watching the Aurors' panicked appearance with him.
After the corridor quieted down, Voldemort chuckled softly.
"Let's go, let's go say hello to the owner here."
