Hogwarts: I am the White Demon King
#493 - Chapter 493: Someone broke into Azkaban?
North Sea, a solitary island surrounded by roaring waves and pitch-black deep sea.
The sky is covered with heavy gray clouds, almost perpetually gloomy, and the humid air is filled with the bitter scent of sea salt and the musty odor of decay.
On the island stands a peculiar prison, its outer walls constructed from dark-colored megaliths, their surfaces covered in deep green moss, as if proclaiming the erosion of time and solitude.
The entire structure exudes a sense of oppressive height, its design simple and cumbersome, devoid of any superfluous ornamentation.
Around the prison, the figures of Dementors faintly drift, silently gliding, sometimes circling, sometimes swooping down.
The interior of the prison is an even more suffocating abyss. Narrow corridors are paved with cold, rough stone bricks, and dim oil lamps adorn the walls, emitting a faint yellow light, barely illuminating the path ahead.
The cells are small and dark, each sealed off by heavy iron bars. Dementors periodically drift past each cell, but unlike what wizards outside imagine, these Dementors are not currently sucking the happy emotions of anyone.
The reason is simple: they're full!
Since the reforms at Azkaban, the Dementors' meals have improved day by day. Now, they have even developed bad habits of being picky eaters.
They simply don't care about ordinary happy emotions. They only eat high-quality, premium happy emotions. Even so, they still have more delicious food than they can eat every day.
With the arrival of the Christmas holidays, the prisoners also began a small celebration, and the Dementors were so full that they could barely float. After checking the number of prisoners, they floated away.
Now, the various cells were even more lively.
In one of the cells, four prisoners were sitting together, happily sharing a feast. If the environment weren't so wrong, one would think these people were having a dinner party in a restaurant.
Sitting in the main seat was a tall wizard, receiving the flattery of the other three prisoners.
"Merry Christmas! Professor Karkaroff, thanks to you, the few of us in this cell are able to live so comfortably."
"Yes, those with strong abilities learn things quickly. You effortlessly led the few of us to become a model potion-making group."
"I bet the food in our cell is the best this Christmas. Professor Karkaroff, we'll still rely on you after the holidays."
"Easy, easy! Merry Christmas!" Karkaroff raised his glass in a gesture, saying with a beaming smile, "We are a small collective, progressing together, progressing together!"
Karkaroff was originally not interested in potions, and his potion-making level was only average. However, after arriving at Azkaban, he immediately became the most skilled potion-maker in the cell.
To be honest, Karkaroff's potion-making talent was not bad. In order to make his life a little better, he desperately brewed potions every day. As a result, his potion-making level grew rapidly.
In the end, he even remembered his role as a professor and began to enthusiastically guide his roommates in potion brewing, leading them to improve together.
At this time, Karkaroff no longer had the arrogance he had as headmaster. His face was full of kindness as he looked at the wizard on his left and asked.
"Bob, your sentence is almost up, right? I remember you'll be released in two weeks. What are your plans after you get out?"
"Yes, I'll be released soon after the New Year," the wizard who was asked raised his glass and respectfully toasted Karkaroff, "Thanks to your teaching, Professor, my potion-making level has improved very quickly. I'll definitely be able to find a better job this time."
"Professor Karkaroff, I never imagined that being in Azkaban this time would allow me to be your roommate and receive your teaching."
"It's truly Merlin's blessing. I remember you had a single cell when you first arrived."
"Hey, what's so good about a single cell!" Karkaroff poured himself another glass of wine, then raised the glass and drank it all in one gulp, "Single cells are all in the deepest part of Azkaban, where those sentenced to life imprisonment are held."
"Listen, it's so lively all around, but not a single lively sound comes from there."
"They don't have the right to go out and work. They can only watch us go out to work and enjoy ourselves, they must be incredibly envious."
"Originally, I didn't have the opportunity either, but I made a deal with Minister of Magic Fudge, and he let me sign a work contract, giving me the right to go out and work."
"As for those people in the depths of the prison..." Karkaroff shook his head, a hint of regret in his tone, "They can only slowly wait to die in despair."
Not knowing what he was thinking, Karkaroff raised his head and looked in the direction of London, saying softly with uncertainty, "Unless..."
Just as he finished speaking, a violent rumble suddenly sounded, and the entire island trembled violently.
Boom—
The prisoners were shaken and staggered, and the food on the table fell all over the floor.
Awakened by the explosion, the prisoners looked at each other, and they could all see disbelief in each other's eyes.
Without bothering to clean up, they all got up and leaned on the iron doors of their cells, looking outwards. For a time, everything was in chaos.
"What's going on? Someone is attacking Azkaban? How many people are there?"
"No way, are there still such fierce people now? Doesn't this guy know that Azkaban now has a large room that can connect to the Ministry of Magic, and Aurors can appear here at any time?"
"There's no need for Aurors to take action. There are so many Dementors outside, enough to give the newcomer a hard time."
"That's not right!" A prisoner who was lying on the window looking at the sky shouted, "The Dementors aren't moving, they're just floating around in the sky."
"What's going on? Are they too full to bother moving?"
"What was that explosion just now? Could it be a Muggle bomb that landed on the island?"
Amidst the noise, a terrifying hiss spread to everyone's ears, and then a massive number of giant snakes emerged from the passage, silencing all the prisoners' discussions.
They leaned against the walls with terrified faces, afraid to make a sound.
Merlin's Azkaban!
What exactly is going on? What is that hissing sound? Will someone please stand up and explain?
Everyone doesn't have wands now, and they have no power to resist these giant snakes.
Unlike the other prisoners, Karkaroff stood there blankly, feeling that the hissing sound was extremely familiar.
Suddenly, his eyes lit up, and he suddenly rushed to the iron door of the cell, banging on the door and shouting frantically.
"Master, is that you?"
"Master, I am your loyal servant Karkaroff."
"Master, I knew you would come here to save your servants..."
