Hogwarts: I am the White Demon King
#486 - Chapter 486 "Pleasant" Chat
Everyone filed out, quickly leaving the office to Harry and Umbridge.
"Please, have a seat, Mr. Potter; I truly want to have a good chat with you today."
Seeing this, Harry didn't hesitate and sat down across from Umbridge.
Umbridge smiled broadly and said in a high-pitched voice, "We've had some unpleasantness between us, but those were all misunderstandings."
"As a new professor, I didn't know how to interact with students at first, and I'm very sorry for those misunderstandings. That's why I'm here today to apologize."
"Look," Umbridge said, pointing to the snacks on the table, introducing them warmly, "I didn't know what you liked to drink, so I prepared a little of everything. Why don't we toast, let bygones be bygones, and let the past be the past, how about it?"
"Also, Professor would like you to say a few good words for me to Mr. and Mrs. Swan, so they know I truly don't intend to be their enemy."
Drink up quickly, Harry Potter!
Just a small sip, and we can start a pleasant conversation.
Looking at the cookies and various drinks on the table, Harry gave Umbridge a kind smile.
Good heavens, putting on such a humble act. If I didn't know better, I'd really think you were putting on this apologetic act because you were afraid of Professor Swan and Aunt Mia.
Luckily, I received Draco's warning in advance, otherwise, I really would have stepped into a trap this time.
"Professor, you've prepared very well, with pumpkin juice, black tea, and butterbeer."
"Thank you for your kindness, but..." Harry drew out his words slightly, then, under her surprised gaze, took out a can of Coke, "Compared to those, I prefer Coke, it's sweet! Professor, have you ever had it? Would you like a can? I have plenty here."
As he spoke, he took out another can of Coke and placed it directly in front of Umbridge, completely unconcerned with the change in her expression.
Seeing that Harry had no intention of falling for it, Umbridge really wanted to swear, but she still tried to maintain the smile on her face, squeezing out a sentence through gritted teeth.
"I see... I didn't realize that none of these drinks suited your taste. That's such a pity."
"It has nothing to do with the Professor, I just simply prefer to drink my own things," Harry said, looking at her and waving his hand lightly, "Professor, you may not know, but since attending Auror training, I've developed a good habit of not eating things from others."
"Also, Professor Moody taught us for a year to always be vigilant. Regarding the Professor's preparations, I can only say I'm sorry."
"By the way, Professor, did you have anything else you wanted to discuss with me?"
Looking at the smile on Harry's face, the anger in Umbridge's heart almost devoured her.
She desperately wanted to punch that hateful face, completely wiping away that disgusting smile.
She took a deep breath, trying to suppress her anger. There was no way, she was no match for Harry, and forcibly attacking would only be self-defeating.
"Mr. Potter, we are not enemies, and there's no need to create some pointless conflict."
"I'm sorry, Professor, I don't quite understand what you mean," Harry looked at Umbridge with a puzzled expression. "Haven't we already made up?"
"The problem with the Defense Against the Dark Arts class," Umbridge maintained her fake smile, trying hard to keep her composure. "Your Defense Against the Dark Arts club is making my teaching work very difficult. I hope..."
Before she could finish speaking, Harry interrupted, "I'm sorry, Professor, that has nothing to do with me."
"Nothing to do with you?" Umbridge slowly repeated, her tone revealing undisguised doubt.
Her gaze was fixed on Harry, sharp as a knife, as if she wanted to dissect his heart layer by layer, to see what he was really thinking.
However, she didn't know Legilimency, and even if she had this ability, she couldn't possibly see through Harry's true thoughts.
The two's gazes clashed, Harry's eyes like a deep, bottomless lake, calm but faintly revealing a tenacious power.
She subconsciously averted her gaze, as if burned by some invisible flame. She didn't know why, but she was somewhat afraid of his gaze.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Harry used Legilimency to see some of Umbridge's plans.
Ron, Hermione, Neville, Ginny, those friends who were close to him, Umbridge didn't plan to let any of them go, and planned to treat them all with a Veritaserum cocktail.
This discovery filled Harry with rage, and he no longer had the mood to play along with Umbridge.
"Professor," Harry's lips curled into a contemptuous smile, his tone cold as he said, "You shouldn't focus your energy on me, but should instead try to make the Defense Against the Dark Arts class more interesting."
"If the Defense Against the Dark Arts class is still as boring as before, I will no longer appear in your classroom in the future. Because I'm really busy, I have to work hard to improve my strength, I don't have time to play house with you."
Play house?
Umbridge was furious. She didn't expect her course to receive such an evaluation.
What audacity! This was a course personally reviewed by Minister Fudge. Harry Potter was completely disregarding the Ministry of Magic.
"Mr. Potter, I must remind you that if you don't attend class, you will not be able to pass this exam."
Umbridge's expression was almost twisted, but she still suppressed her anger, using her sweet voice to remind him, half threatening and half kind.
"You've attended Auror training, so you must be planning to become an Auror. Without a good grade in my class, you won't be able to enter the Ministry of Magic, understand?"
"Unable to pass this exam?" Harry curled his lips and said casually, "That's hard to say. Maybe by the time I take the exam, the Ministry of Magic will have changed ministers, and you will no longer be the professor of this course."
"Ah ha," Umbridge slammed the table, raised her wand, and pointed it at Harry, "I knew it, you're planning to resist the rule of the Ministry of Magic. Who taught you to say this, was it Dumbledore?"
The sound of Umbridge slamming the table startled Malfoy and the others outside the office. They opened the door and, after seeing the tense atmosphere, were slightly stunned, then raised their wands and surrounded Harry.
However, Harry, as if he didn't see the scene in front of him, simply picked up the Coke and drank it all.
Then, he stood up and smiled slightly at Umbridge.
"Don't get excited, Professor, you've misunderstood. What I mean is, by that time, that person whose name you don't even dare to mention will definitely have come out into the open."
"By that time, the Ministry of Magic will naturally replace him with a capable minister."
"By that time, you naturally won't continue to teach this course."
Harry gently pushed away Malfoy's wand and slowly walked to the office door, then he turned around, looked at Umbridge's pale face, and smiled slightly.
"Professor, rest assured, I will convey your 'kindness' to Professor Swan and them."
"Let's end our chat here today, ciao ~ ~"
